So is the charger the next IS Assault? It is the last from TRO 3039!

I'd be OK with Charger....prefer it after the Assassin though.

I guess you mean the original TRO:3025, since TRO:3039 still has some assaults for us (notably the Marauder II), and you exclude the Quads...

Anyway, I think the Charger would not be a bad choice at all. Even the much maligned -1A1 can be made into something by using ES structure and XL engine. In fact, I might even like it more than many other assaults for being fast.

It just that I wish they'd give TRO:3025 a break for once. The TROs of 3039, 3055 and 3058 offer so many better assault options for the IS, many if not most of them available in 3053 (whatever that still means after the last TH).
As much as I like the Charger for the Nostalgia, it can hardly compete with Mechs like the Spartan, Gunslinger, Nightstar, Pillager, Albatross, Devastator...

TRO:3025 Revised, that is.

If we don't get some lights, the Assassin would be a good choice for being a quasi-light...

with all the "whoa is me" Light QQ in the rescale, some good 40 tonners might be needed. As the only other light we'll see if the QQ is to be believed is Locusts.

I want them to add more of the Star League mechs like the champion, thug, nightstar, etc. Do it in a pack and get a chunk out of the way before they move the time forward.

I think there is a lot we all want, what we get though well guess just gotta wait to see what Russ does after the presumed Linebacker drop end of this month/start of July. Be nice to hear, usually he says his plans for idea of next mechs soooo, guess wait and find out. Probably IS for sure, as for what who knows! Maybe Phil hinted at something with the Star League mech comment "shrugs"

It's actually got a good variety of 3025-era variants, and if you fit the Hatamoto series in with it (they're built on Charger chassis) it becomes a really nice broad variant selection.

would be the first time we got two largely visually divergent mechs under one chassis, so I'd be doubtful the Hatamoto would be part of the Charger series. Fortunately, the Charger has nice variety without it.

CGR-1A1
- classic model, all energy, with hardpoints spread all over the place. To compare with it's closest analog, the Gladiator, would probably have 9 Energy Hardpoints. Mobility buffs, heat generation buffs.

CGR-1A5
- slower model but with serious brawling cachet. AC20, 2x SRM6, lasers, and Awesome level armor. Probably would get nice structure buffs.

I'd probably go with 1x E (head), 2x E (CT), 2x B (RT) and 2-3x M (LT).

CGR-1A9 / CGR-3K
- Essentially just old tech/new tech version of the same basic mech. Same hardpoints, aside from the Head Laser on the 1A9. 4x Medium Lasers (MPLs) and an LRM20. 1A9 is 64 kph, the 3K uses an XL400 to move 86 kph.

just a few thoughts.

Id take it if it was like the version you have in your thread done by Soku Yamashita.
Id also like to see the Anvil in game.

I think everyone has confidence in Alex. I'd explode if he took a stab at the NSR.

Most Hatamoto's didn't have a sword, as the Hatamoto went into production in 3042 & the 'Mech-scale sword wasn't developed until 3058.
Only the 3060 custom build HTM-28T Hatamoto-Chi (Shin) comes with a sword as part of its stock armament.

Likely HTM variants (IMO) would be the HTM-27T (the "main"/"common" variant; x1 PPC in each arm & x1 SRM-6 launcher in each side-torso), the HTM-27U (the "all-energy" variant; x1 PPC in each arm & x2 MPLas in each side-torso), and the HTM-27W (the "energy-and-ballistics" variant; x1 PPC in each arm & x1 AC/5 in the right-torso).
The HTM-27V can necessarily be easily made from the HTM-27T (replace the SRM-6 launchers with LRM-5 launchers), and the HTM-27Y can be easily made from the HTM-27U (replace all of the MPLas with a single ERLLas in the right-torso).

The Hero 'Mech should (IMO) be the personal 'Mech of Daniel Sorenson, CO of Sorenson's Sabres.
The 3039 version carried a (prototype) LB 10-X AC in each arm & a SRM-4 launcher in each side-torso, and came with a (prototype) Endo-Steel frame. The 3052 version (which MUL notes as "Experimental from 3052 to 3058") carried a (production-grade) LB 10-X AC in each arm & a (prototype) SSRM-6 launcher in each side-torso (confirmed on page 112 of Starterbook: Sword and Dragon and the 9th page of the PDF of Record Sheets: Sword and Dragon) on a (production-grade) Endo-Steel frame, along with a C3 Master Computer in the right-torso.
I would expect a PGI take on Sorenson's 'Mech to be closer to the 3039 version, replacing the prototype parts with their production-grade counterparts.
Sorenson's 'Mech would be a "ballistics-and-missiles" variant, a contrast to the "energy-and-missiles" HTM-27T, the "all-energy" HTM-27U, and the "energy-and-ballistics" HTM-27W; the combination of these variants would (IMO) give the Hatamoto line a lot of build diversity between variants.

My problem with the Hatamoto - and I know it's a minor one, but still - is that the classic one's loadout is exactly the same as the Thug, and i like the Thug better.

Which was the whole idea- they couldn't build new Thugs, but as a knockoff version, they had Charger chassis to work with instead, taking one of the worst assaults in 3025-era production and remaking it into a decent one.
