Eh...it's a slow assault mech... reason enough to not like it.

Except the variant that comes with a 380xl...

Sure but in MWO we can swap that for a 350xl or 400xl, etc.

....

I really hate that aspect of MWO... And yes have taken advantage of it on some mechs, like my Riflemen and Maulers... Just moving up enough to get one more internal DHS.

To be fair, I'm not a fan of the mech.. reminds me too much of the Marauder, a mech I have no love for.

I love the Marauder (was my mech of choice before the recent nerf), both in looks and play style. That's the only reason I'm looking forward for the Nightstar.

That's fair, I've always been a Warhammer man myself... Love them from Macross, love them in TT and love them here.

Same rationale as myself, but directed toward the Marauder rather than the Warhammer.

You know it's funny, most old school TT guys usually fall into one of three go to mechs I find:

Archer
Marauder
Warhammer

Now don't ask me to try and figure out why it works like that, but it seems too.

I'd bet heavies have been the best even in TT.

All the Macross Destroids get love.

And it helps that in TT, the MAD, WHM and ARC were all very effective. Crusader and Rifleman probably got less loves because they required more compromises to translate...

Overall, yes. Which is to be expected. Heavies are the MBTs of the Battletech world. You can, and often have to use Lighter units, but Heavies are the optimal blend of speed, armor and firepower.... and thus the mist tactically useful.

Assaults have their place, but usually either they are real slow, and thus of limited uses, or they try to be oversized heavies, and the diminishing returns simply catch up with them.

For me the Phoenix Hawk was always my favourite Macross mech in TT. If I was going heavy then the Thunderbolt always beat out the Macross destroids for me. Always loved the original look of the 'bolt. Wish the MWO 'bolt was a bit closer to the original Dougram design with the sloped front torso and cockpit placement, but most importantly a big arm laser instead of the piddly legolaser we got.

Not to be negative, but it could mean the exact opposite: The medium Mech event was launched after the Phoenix Hawk was released, so that it could take part. I am afraid a light Mech event before the annoucement means they won't release a new light.

A Wasp&Stinger-pack for 20$ however would be quite tempting, regardless of my doubts.

It's one of the few mechs that would get me to put another drop into the PGI bucket.

The médium event was just before the Viper release. And yes, a Double bugger pack would be great.

Garbage mechs. Lights are doa now, just listen to the forums whine. So since lights are "the size of mediums" now, anyhow, might as well just give us more Mediums. Assassin time!

As long as he brings his more attractive brother, the Hatamoto-chi. Posted Image
