Phantom,

Remember, armour doesn't matter. All mechs once introduced to MWO run max armour. Unless you want to look at mechs noted particularly for their tankiness in Battletech, then they might get some armour/structure quirks in MWO.

No firepower? It's a 40-tonner with 4 missile and 2 energy, or up to 12 energy. Builds:

6 cERSL, 15 DHS
6 cERSL, ECM, 14 DHS
6 cSPL, 12 DHS
5 cSPL, 13 DHS
5 cSPL, ECM, 12 DHS
4 cERML, 15 DHS
12 cUPL, 12 DHS
9 cUPL, ECM, 12 DHS
10 cERUL + 2 cSPL, 13 DHS
6 cERUL + 6 cFlamer, 13 DHS
4x cSRM2 (3.5tons ammo), 12 DHS
2x ATM3 (2.0tons ammo) + 4x cERUL, 12 DHS

Might need some quirks, especially for missiles, but 6 cERSL is nothing to scoff at, and who knows yet if micro pulse (cUPL) and ER micros (cERUL) will be any good. For all we know... they could turn out rather useful. And this mech can boat just about the maximum of any mech in the game so far, so... if any mech can make them work, this one can. It's basically the perfect platform for them.

That's way more builds than I had come up with and I've been drooling over the idea of this mech entering MWO for a real long time now. It's speed alone will do a lot to compensate for its light armor and the ECM will further reduce the attention it gets. I'm really hoping they release this mech soon.

Which mechs do you guys think would be the strongest potential additions to MWO?

Strongest potential additions in terms of what?

1- popular demand? (heavily weighted on nostalgia and familiarity with some chassis)
2- novelty? (mechs that bring something very different either in loadout or in looks)
3- meta? (mechs that are simply better then what we have in the game now)

I won't lie: I'm heavily biased toward the 1st option, because: (2) almost everything we add now will have something similar already in the game and (3) because this is not a singleplayer game, no mech should be plain better than the other.

So, here is my short list. Not what I want, but what I expect PGI will bring, after 5 years of this thread:

IS Light:
- Wasp. There isn't much left for IS light, really. A humanoid jumping 20 tonner, specially such an iconic chassis, would be very welcome.
- Raptor. When PGI releases IS omnis (2018, apparently), here is an obligatory addition.

IS Medium:
- Chimera or Hellspawn. It's MW4 time.
- Men Shen. Best IS omni of our time.

IS Heavy:
- Argus. Not the most beloved MW4 design, but still...
- Crusader. Super classic design.

IS Assault:
- Fafnir. MW4 icon. It will come. I can't imagine other IS assault mech being released before the Fafnir.
-Templar. A possibly viable IS assault omni, and MW4 mech.

Clan Light:
- Fire Moth. Huge popular demand - but left out because of technical limitations.
- Locust IIC. A better balanced low-weight Clan light battlemech
EDIT: it looks like Piranha is on the way (hinted by the last Townhall)

Clan medium:
- Black Lanner. Has popular demand but, like the Linnebacker, is looked down for it's limited pod space.
- Hellhound. A classic from MW4, but with the great problem of not looking at all like the Conjurer as should be.

Clan heavy:
- Rifleman IIC. Very popular in the last pool (and would certainly fill a new role), but similar with a mech not very loved.
- Grizzly. Something like a Clan's Cataphract (I would pass).

Clan assault:
- Blood Asp. Undisputed the next Clan assault mech.
- Stone Rhino. Points for the nostalgia (but I would prefer the Bane).
EDIT: and Warhammer IIC in third.

Now that they have a forum up for topics we'd like to have addressed at the town hall, it's time to start posted and liking posts pushing for Faction Specific Mechs!

Yeah, I have been thinking that too. And then we got the Annihilator. I'd love to be wrong, but I don't see PGI adding another 100t IS Mech any time soon.

AND the Fafnir has a lot more going for it than some cheesy 17 year old video game, both in terms of lore and performance.

The Warhammer IIC is sad..... She's a beast though, but sad you over looked her for the Stone Rhino.

Warhammer IIC would be my 3rd option.

Nope! (maybe the 5th?)
Bane would be the 4th.
And (because the lack of options) Kingfisher in 6th.

I'm kinda surprised I wasn't clear. I mean, I don't see popular or nostalgia going with strong but I meant meta, as in mechs that would demand respect.

Mechs with good hard points, hitboxes, mounts, speed, etc.

Meta is overrated.

It's fine that it's not your thing. I'm just interested in mechs that would be good without quirks or at least not need too many to compete.

I was actually surprised when the Rifleman IIC surpassed the Warhammer IIC on gas guzzler's poll. So I think it's alot more popular than what most people give it credit for, just not favored due to how powerful it was on TT and kinda put on the back burner after MW2:GBL since it's an IIC mech. If it didn't have that IIC label slapped onto it I think it would be even more popular than what it is back when it was introduced.

The grizzly would be a waste of an option since it doesn't bring anything new to the table. Knowing how PGI does things, they would purposely bend the rules of lore to make it good and marketable to a broader variety of players. On top of it's limited variants I think they should stay clear of it (unless they follow the lore rules with the mech and you like melted armor getting stuck in your actuator joints).

And why ignore the Warhammer IIC? It might very well be in the next mech pack for all we know. I'm crossing my fingers for a double Rifleman IIC/Warhammer IIC mechpack so that the very last mech would be the Firemoth from the MW:2 roster (hopefully).

Honestly the Stone Rhino would be extremely powerful in game. Clan assaults just ooze meta except for the lackluster ones like Turkina.

For IS heavies I'd pick the Thanatos. I know it has C3 but frankly Pgi has replaced equipment before like on the Hellbringer. It's important to FCW era & MW4 fans along with winning Gas's poll. The Crusader seems to be very likely as well.

I'm not co certain. Aside from Lights the Clan Assault class seems to have the most built in flaws out of any.

I'd bet both BAsp & SRhino would outclass an unnerfed Kodiak or at least be just as dominant. The WHammy IIc & Phawk IIc would also be quite strong, especially thanks to being Battlemechs.. Sure there are some lemons but the more popular ones all bring a lot of power to the table.

Well, the PHawk IIC is basically a Clan Charger.
