They need a more thrilling story first.
The story of MW5 so far seems to be out of a Television Low Budget Movie script, that got dropped.

Where did you find the story of MW5?

Just in one of the "previews" - A sole survivor with thirst of revenge.
Maybe I'm wrong but its 100% believable for PGI to deliver such a lame plot, unfortunatly

Horned owl, please. (Flea may turn out to be the gateway drug to Firemoth. I'll wait for the hook to set.)

This should totally be an event! What's awesome (I know, Awesomes can't equip Gauss) is it can be done every year.

Interstellar Take Your Gauss to Work Weekend, with rewards and stuff.

Sales for mechs that come stock with a Gauss too. :D

You want to post this in event suggestions, or should I? Nevermind, I got it.

<mumble mumble something something>

Please hold while I rifle through Sarna to make sure I'm not missing a medium I want before I open my big mouth again without sufficient forethought.

While I'm not going to ignore those, I think I'd like to see an IS medium, so that's likely what I'll suggest unless I find something that overwhelms me.

I don't see much need for an IS medium compared to the lacunae in other weight classes. The IS has almost all it needs as of now. Regardless, I'd buy a Lynx and a number of other mediums (certainly not the Chimera, though).
A light would be great because I still need that jumping 20 or 25 ton Mech; the Flea did not really do much for me. But with the Flea being released, a light is unlikely.
The saturation with assaults is also high, although a solid 85 ton Mech would be more than welcome.

I personally think a 60t or 70t Mech would make the most sense; the last we got are from early 2016 (Rifleman and Archer). It is not unlikely that they'll go for the Argus and MW:4 nostalgia. And although I don't think it is the best choice, it is not a bad choice either.

My hopes are for a Mech that we have not seen yet in another game. It is always extremely exiting to see TRO line-art come to three-dimensional life for the first time. The King Crab was a true revelation, a master piece, and what got me to MWO.
Also, Mechs like Lynx, Dragon Fire, or Falconer have a much better chance of being actually enjoyable in MWO than Chimera or Hollander.

PS: I think heavies are still the most played class (which makes sense), but I'll check later that day.

Given current legal situations . . . top pick is the Mongoose, Period. After that I'd settle for the Nexus/Jackrabbit (hey, great time to bring LAC's into the game) or the Brigand. Those all fill a solid light choice in a badly needed 25 ton slot.

For a medium I want the Clint, hands down. If they quirk it the way it "should" be quirked it'd be a 40 ton Wolfhound/Yen-Lo hybrid. Regardless the stats size up to be a solid low end medium trooper mech.

Of course . . . all of those mechs would be great additions to HBS Battletech, too. Not that that's an influence -at this point- or anything. "In success anything is posssible"; and HBS Battletech is being quite successful in the Steam sales.

All of them would be great. I love the Mongoose, but honestly the lack of JJ makes me want the Brigand and Nexus/Jackrabbit a tiny bit more. Regardless, I would buy them all.

Don't forget that Mediums are supposed to be THE workhorse class of Battletech, as well. They're supposed to be the most populated and numerous of all weight classes . . . unlike MWO where Heavies reign supreme. Then Lights would fall in second (despite the Wasp and Locust being two of the most prolific chassis in the IS), with Heavies third and Assaults last.

. . . and . . . Yeah, they're utterly awesome in HBS Battletech. Although, now that I've seen the number of support weapons a Grasshopper can mount, I see a Pyro Hopper of Brawling Death in my near future (Sadly, I haven't gotten to play as much as I'd like, and am only just starting to see enemy heavies on the field).

Oh?

I need to take a serious look at my 5H hopper then... I might make a CQB beast out of it then... Just looted my first Thunderbolt, my Dragons are now sitting in the reserve section...

Okay, my pick is the Sha Yu. I'd like to see a few more mediums, particularly at the lighter end of the weight class.

It fits right into the timeline they're loving right now with the NuTek, In particular the Stealth armor.

I don't have a single problem with the others mentioned (especially the 40-45 ton S'Mediums), but this is my dark horse pick for what they may select and why. And I'll admit I also like a nice quirky oddball pick.

Then again, something with more Solaris flair may go over pretty well right now too ...

Edit: before someone objects to the C3 variant, so what? stip it out, add a heatsink or armor, drive on, just like the ClanTech variants that have ditched A-pods.

Yeah . . . the 5H is something like 6 Support weapons (I'd need to check, I have 2/3 salvage sitting around). The mission I just did netted me a lucky 3/3 Black Knight grab (my personal SHD-2D punched the cockpit out after it and my Firestarter overheated it). It's got 3 support hardpoints and is a sweet "consolation" prize until I get a Grasshopper. I'm seeing 2LL, 2-4ML, 3Flamers, JJ, and as much more armor as I can cram in.

My 5H Hopper, is now packing 1xLRM/5++ (2Stab DMG), 7x MLas and 6x Slas... this thing is going to be nuts....
