I honestly think Crusader could be fine waiting a while. We already have two dedicated Heavy LRM mechs on the IS side of things, and I personally would prefer they do a mech that hasn't gotten a MW release yet.

Then Hollander is the answer we all deserve. Never appeared in MW games, only Mech Commander games.

However, I would also prefer a mech that isn't a living meme. We already have enough of them, so how about something like the Brigand? 25 tons, jump capable, interesting backstory(a mech designed, built and used entirely by pirates).

Agreed. After the Wasp, the Brigade is a great choice.
But we just got the Flea, so I suppose it will take a while for a new IS light mech.

Strange that it was not announced yet...

Yes, the Brigand is very high on my list for all the things you mentioned. Just imagine what PGI's art department could do with that back story!
Just a small note: pirates are not the only users of the Brigand. The Marian Hegemony had a small number of them in their ranks by the end of the FCCW already, and during the Jihad most Periphery powers fielded the Brigand. Since I think we need some more Periphery stuff in game, this would be a good opportunity.

But unfortunately Odanan is right: we rarely get light Mechs and we probably have to wait a lot. Also, if PGI can indeed use the unseens... well, as much as I love the Brigand, but Wasp&Stinger are just more important to the lore (and they bring some novelty, too, being jump capable 20t Mechs).

I fully expect we may not hear anything about new mech for this week, since we also have USA Independence Day at the middle of the week. Good timing for weeky vacation if you ask me.

Seems like. Office was likely closed for observance of Canada Day, since it was on Sunday.

Let's see if they roll out something neat between Canada Day and 4th of July.

1. Guessing IS, non-light.

2. Two lines of thought: Either MW5-valid mechs (make the models now to include them later, like the Vulcan), or something something NuTek. If you can get both, even better ;)

3. I'm wondering if they had a couple more Umseens in the pipeline when the HG suit dropped, freezing them in production. I'm also wondering if the settlement allowed (narrowly) them only to keep what classic designs they'd done already, or (broadly) allowed PGI to produce more using the classic designs. We'll get that answer if they drop the Crusader or Longbow or something.

4. Charger was mentioned way back when we had the conversation about Resistance pack assaults. I wonder when its time will come.

5. Somewhat random IS medium thought: Hey, what about a Dervish?

While I still want Hollander to be out as soon as possible, if you look at the mechs released, the mech with the most realistic chance to be out is Argus. It's about time we get IS heavy mech, since last IS heavy mech, Thanatos came out rather long time ago at this point.

I'm not really convinced they'll do the Argus. Of course, now that I've said that, it's more likely they'll announce it :P

I'll push my luck here to guarantee they go a different direction, but the Anvil seems more likely.

These would be fun, dunno how likely they are:
Champion
Excalibur
Lancelot
Ostroc/Ostol

Excalibur, Lancelot and Ostroc are actually good bets. But surely Argus and (if the deal with HG allow the release of more Unseen) Crusader are priority.

I'm reluctant to try to anticipate or dictate priorities to PGI.

Our last several mechs were what, the Hellfire, Vulcan, and Incubus? Nobody saw the Incubus coming, it's unlikely anybody was clamoring for the Helfire, and as much as the Vulcan has its points for TT nostalgia, I genuinely don't anyone would have listed it as a priority.

If they already had work done on the Crusader before the suit, and if the settlement terms allow for it, then awwwww yeah, the Crusader would be the way to triumphantly walk out of the post-lawsuit debris cloud with head held high and full swagger in effect. That's too many ifs to make for a solid guess in my book. I'm perfectly happy to be wrong, because we win either way.

Now the Argus, on the other hand ... I simply fail to see the appeal that has folks rating it up there with the Crusader. The Anvil simply seems like a better late-invasion/civil-war era chassis to me. I don't have money anyway, so this is pure armchair analysis. Folks can want what they want.

The others I listed because they fit the MW5 timeline better. Argus is NuTech all the way. Anvil suffers from being an Invasion-era chassis when PGI is ramping up for MW5.

We'll see soon™ enough. I've never gotten one of these right on time. Usually the ones I've guessed (well, the ones that have eventually been introduced) have come a few months later which kind of ruins the effect.

Given the pattern I have seen, I am pretty certain IS Heavy.
Top choices:
Argus
Crusader
Rakshasa
Falconer
Ostol or Ostroc
Thunder

Argus feels like the most likely.

I should not say this as the one who wants to see Hollander for this game, but Anvil is... well... really underwhelming. Not enough hardpoints, pure laser mech (which is not really IS mechs' forte). I guess, you can do poptart with heavy PPCs... but that's it really. It is not like ECM is strong these days.

Argus, on other hand, does have all kinds of hardpoints for a good IS heavy mech. At worst it may be a good MRM boat. With ballistics you can put some big guns to compensate lack of number of hardpoints as an IS mech.

A jump capable Mech for laser vomit with additional ECM does not sound "really underwhelming" to me. The Anvil is not the best, but it's ok.

The Argus on the other hand is ok, but not really good either. The AGS-5D is quite interesting thanks to its MASC, that's it. Most variants sport a very eclectic mix of hardpoints.
Basically, it is a Dragon. And it's not like those are the most popular Mechs... The Argus is one of the better MW:4-originals but that's not saying much, is it?

There are much better choices, Mechs we could actually enjoy playing in MWO. What was the last heavy IS Mech people actually like playing in MWO? Roughneck? Alpha Lance? I'd say it's time we get a real powerhouse of a Mech and ignore nostalgia, just once, in order to have fun.
The rich universe of BattleTech offers so many good Mechs with fascinating lore. I want them, not mediocre units whose only forte is having been featured in another game 18 years ago.

This is why, even though I think Argus is probably the most likely choice, I think Rakshasa would be the much more fun choice. Inner Sphere would love to have it's own Timber Wolf. :)
