The Rifleman IIC weighs 65 tons. With a 235 engine it makes only 58.6 kph (without speed tweak), or 63 kph (with speed tweak).
As I said, the IIC-2 and the -A will be fine but the others... I don't see myself crawling around with 58 or 63 kph in a Mech as light as 65 tons. At that speed range you will have to content with units like the Marauder IIC.

You're right, I completely mixed up the tonnages.

I'm still not as concerned about the speed (yet)... I just don't want another Night Gyr debacle (mobility of a 90t assault). The real problem is the prominence of nascar, making it hard for the Rifleman IIC to keep up. But that goes for every assault as well. Hey, maybe it'll encourage people to do counter-nascar for once Posted Image .

I actually was terrified of the Cougar's slow speed and fragility, but I learned to make it work and can score pretty consistently. It grew so fast on me, that I really enjoy playing it now. It might not be competitive, but it's definitely fun to play.

I think so far the only mech I really can't make work is the Black Lanner... huge hitboxes and no tonnage to work with, no quirks to really make up for it's fragility.

Maybe PGI will give it the Urbie treatment afterwards... raising the engine cap above the usual threshold. We'll see. I won't write it off until I see it in action.

Haha that's quite the dissertation to basically agree with me.

Just thought it was worth detailing, for the record, how the Rifleman isn't going to have bad hitboxes at all. I stand by saying it'll likely have good hitboxes.

Nice!

I remember this was one of the most dangerous enemy mechs in MW2 (maybe because of the Std. Engine).

Yet in MWO I am going to swap the Std Engine to a Clan XL on the first build, likely for a lot of people, even with the current heat spike on side torso lose.

Given the torso weapon placement, I just don't see this mech being the most ideal for gauss (though not terrible, just not ideal). I could easily see the -ML being fit with 2x UAC10 2x ERPPC, however. The -A for sure with 2x LB20X and 3x ASRM6. The -II will probably be great at rocking 5x ASRM6 and 2 MPLas, moving as fast as it possibly can.

Its the most dangerous Mech I ever faced in tabletop, usually I stop playing and declare victory for the other side when they drop a single Warhammer IIC. 3 games in the past the thing has racked up 16 kills in those 3 games.... you can throw all you shiny clan-trashcans in the bin - the Warhammer IIC is everything you need - pure horror

It's not going to be that dominate in MWO.

Missing the 60 ton Clan Hellfire?
It's.. in the totals, but the 'cards' not in the summary by weight for some reason.
I'll fix that fixed

Wait a minute, are we getting a new mech today?

(Is it the Wasp or the Crusader? Or maybe the Argus?)

What do you mean? Why do you say that? Is this some sort of established date for announcing new mechs?

They use to anounce new mechs just after the ending of the early buy rewards. That is usually at the very first days of the month.

I'm praying to the mech Gods for the Wasp/Stinger 2 pack. I'll put my money where my mouth is.

The honest truth is that we don't need more IS heavies or assaults, but if we get one, then I'm hoping Crusader or Longbow.

I don't even like missiles, but again, I'll put my money where my mouth is and go in for the full pack in either case!

On one side, I wouldn't like trading my already anemic tonnage phoenix hawk for a lighter Stinger...but when you think about it, the truth is that I would then be able to run the predecessor of the phoenix hawk in a light mech role, while actually being able to be at a size that makes sense for itself!

While I'm still waiting for PGI to address the few things I've been waiting literal years for, before putting more cash into MWO, I'd love to see these mechs come to the game. However, at least they're on the right track with some of their balancing and maps development . . . so there's a decent chance my wallet will actually reopen in the next few months. Now matter how badly I want to see certain mechs in MWO . . . the mechs themselves only mean so much . . . but I'll be damned if a Wasp/Stinger 2-pack wouldn't be really tempting. I did actually get to have a little direct back and forth with Chris Lowrey over Flamers . . . so maybe . . . but talk still isn't action . . . so maybe not.

Regardless, these mechs are almost what I'd call necessary additions to truly have the full heritage of MechWarrior on display. Then there'd only be a few Classics, and a few MW2: Clans/Mercs chassis to have introduced just about every classic Battletech chassis that's ever been in a prior game. The only reason I'm not mentioning the Argus there is because I think it was a MW4 original, first, before it got canonized; and I'm specifically referring to original CBT chassis.

Oh, and they'd be wonderful additions to MW5 and HBS Battletech, even if they were paid DLC content. Therefore, yeah, hopefully PGI is making them.

Then hey . . . after they're done with those chassis maybe PGI/HBS would consider working on the Tarantula. After all, if MW2 Clans could make it work, then PGI/HBS could find a way, too. HBS already made the Hatchetman a reality (would really love to see it brought into MWO, regardless of how difficult it might be).
