Oh hey, I'm reading the TRO on solaris7.com, and I see this little tidbit at the bottom of the description:

What the Dragon does not have are reliable hip actuators. The military brass disregarded engineering reports calling for a heavier actuator design in favor of a cheaper actuator made on nearby Luthien. As a result, the Dragon can suffer from burned micro-bearings, requiring frequent overhauls of the hip assembly.

I guess we won't have to deal with that in the game anyway.

Love the long snout and cockpit look, cool, between those hunched shoulders. Well done.

Torso reminds me sort of a Super Nova. I could have sworn the Dragon had a lower arm actuator, but looking at its picture in the TRO I guess I'm wrong. Also miss the super broad shoulder style of the original Dragon art. This one reminds me a lot of the art style the Japanese version of BattleTech had in its 'Mech designs.

If you are still having trouble seeing the image, refresh the page while holding the 'SHIFT' key in most modern browsers.

One laser 's torso mounted, the other is on the arm, smart config.

I don't know if its the pose of it or not but I like the sketches in the background on the Main page a bit more.

The Dragon in the picture seems a little squat if you know what I mean.

Pretty cool tho.

I'm not sure about the new design of the Dragon. It's one of my favorite mechs, but this redesign doesn't seem to do it justice. It COULD be just the color scheme and/or the way it's posed (I certainly hope it is).

Love those 2 antennas and the four finger hand!
Its an unique design, Alex, looking forward to see the rest of your work.
About time Battletech hired some talent - no kidding.

You know what, I think I've got what is off-putting about the artwork. The Dragon has a lot of weird angles for its armor, so it seems almost as if the proportions are wrong (but they aren't). Don't worry, FlyingDebris, I'll learn to love your take on it!

art is subjective, once more designs start coming out I think people will start to get a feel (if they haven't already) for the design similarities.

I like it, I think different paint schemes (urban, city, camo, etc...) and the final in game models will really be the deciding factor....of awesomeness.

Wow, that reminds me how much I disliked the old design. Love the new art direction for it! Also, lol, is that a Mackie that it killed?

Beautiful. And so glad to see that the torso laser isn't rear facing anymore.
