You misunderstand what's being said. The zones are the number of active drops happening on a planet, has nothing to do with borders, etc.
You're usually better at understanding these things. Getting battle weary?
Same thing. We have more people and less fronts, more zones gives us more victories to turn.
This is purely my opinion, but the math is strongly against your current approach. Close some fronts you guys. You haven't taken and won't take a Davion world for the near future. Neither will Liao. Splitting your units to drop attack and defend in both locations is just costing you. There's no ego in that, just a math observation. If Kurita, Marik and Liao focused on defense on the Davion border we could be pretty effectively boxed; for all the jokes about 'turret stomping' and 'ghost drops' most of us won't stay that long in a queue. We might do one, then we'll go to another border.
People look at the numbers. Most of us look at Davion worlds under attack first; if they're quiet we look at Davion offensives. If there's a heavy population on both sides we'll queue up. If not we look to the Clan borders.
If Kurita had help from Marik and Liao stonewalling Smoke Jags that would free up Kurita units to attack Ghost Bears. They have a lot of fronts, foreign and domestic. They are literally the best target of opportunity the Marik/Liao/Kurita has - they expanded quickly and now have a lot of borders and the Wolves now don't have to throw doomed bondsmen at 228.
Davion is in a great place right now but that won't last forever. Units will have fights and mercs will reach a point in Davion loyalty points where they want to move on. Our fortunes will turn sooner or later. The question is how much of Marik/Liao/Kurita will be left when that happens and can be exploited. 228 did NOT become a Steiner House Unit - many of the great Davion merc units are mercs for a reason. Time is on your side but only if you've got enough planets left to matter.
Currently your alliance has 14 active fronts, the Davion/Steiner front has 12. Technically 10; we only bother attacking Capellan worlds when everything else is quiet or the Capellans are really going after ours and Kurita has largely abandoned attacking Davion space in favor of keeping Clanners off their steps. We do have a bit of an overall unit population edge but we've also got about 30% less places we have to cover. You guys need to reduce the number of seats you're trying to fill because currently you are not able to fill them all.
