It wouldn't.

You lose DPS just chainfiring 2; a third would be totally irrelevant. Why would you chainfire them in the first place, though?

my 2 UAC5 4 ML timberwolf chain fires them, results in a constant stream of death.

so? Those are 5's. Uac2's fire every 0.8s, chainfire fires every 0.5s. Chain firing 2 uac2's is largely identical to chainfiring 3, as the first is ready to fire again before the 3rd fires. Basically, there's no reason to chainfire uac2's as the already fire so fast. Just group fire them and call it a day.

reason number 1207 I will never be meta/comp..... those empty arms pain me to look at, lol. If I was a smart Comp player, my ENF-4R would have the PPC in the high LT mount.... Mine? IN the LA, like a derp.... because it looks better (and when running a mobile battle is easier to use for me)

Yup. Because I really don't think Russ is willing to unlock Endo/FF, or willing to give the Summoner strong enough quirks to counter the effects of losing so many tons of pod space *and* having so few hardpoints.

They should do the tonnage bonus for IS
Then Unlock endo and FF

Then add quirks if need be.

I have a feeling the summoner is going to get some wicked heat reduction and cooldown quirks for the Prime's energy arm.

Probably. Which is great...if we want the current meta to be strengthened. I'd rather see more variety available, and Omnimechs get much lower and more generic quirks, befitting their "omni" nature.

Well the chances of the CERPPC arm would be good... but unless you give wicked cooldowns for ballistics (which at this point are still pretty wanting)... there's not honestly much you can do outside of rebalancing Clan ballistics.

What's funny is while I personally am not the greatest in the Summoner (although I think among all heavies, it might have the outright best agility available), sometimes the opinion of comp level players is so wildly different from other players.

Slightly OT but I was also surprised to see Gman put an XL build up for the TDR-9SE and for him and Magician to think so much better of it than I do. I guess I need to give it another go and see if I can squeeze more success out of it than previously (or maybe I can't and they are just that much better than me).

Maybe get over my dislike of using XLs in TDRs in the process.

Doesn't matter how many or what type of quirks they give it the mech is still going to suffer from the fact it needs more tonnage for weapons. It has limited hardpoints so you need to bring bigger weapon systems but it doesn't have the tonnage for them. If they were to allow endo upgrade or allowed to remove JJ's or both this would help rectify the problem imho.

Well they could also give it more hardpoints...

It could do some very solid hybrid builds with SRMs + CERMLAS if it just had a few more energy hardpoints (or missile hardpoints in the STs).

We all have to step away and stop comparing it to the Timber Wolf - because if you compare it to IS heavies some of it's configs are right around their firepower.

Which, if all of us are honest including me, might be apart of the problem - expecting "clan level" firepower and instead only getting "IS level" firepower.

XL wise, they are technically the same durability as Assault, with +20 IS per ST.

110 IS+A, compared to the 120 of the 95 ton Banshee. Rather impressive.

I don't use XLs in most of my Assaults either.

It's less a matter of Internal Structure, and more a matter of hitbox size and overall agility.

I tend to be more tempted to take that risk on builds and mechs when I can go very high on engine size through some of the tonnage savings.

*shrugs*

I've almost always run XLs in my TDRs. They aren't the yanked, but they have decent enough hitboxes it's usually work out for the speed and firepower, IMO

That wasn't the interesting bit.

9SE should be Tier 1, and 9S tier 2. 6K should be Tier 1 (arguably still the best medium in the game).
I could make an argument for the summoner as Tier 2, considering its possibly the 2nd best heavy in the game.

SJR_TheMagician said:

In my experience, the 9SE is very good. It can put out a lot of pinpoint sustained damage. Further, despite the vulnerability of having all weapons in a shoulder, it actually takes a lot of damage before going down.

The summoner is brutal. It is quick and agile. It is the best jump sniper in the game (if not the only true jumpsniper) and erppc + gauss can add up to a lot of damage, especially with its quirks + cooldown modules.

I was pretty surprised by his opinion to be honest. Interesting though.
