We did not trade Wolves for FRR - FRR proved to be an enemy from day 1 on.

When the Falcons and Wolves invaded our territory we tried to stop them suffering heavy losses. Meanwhile Viking, Combinate, Mariks and on the first day even Davion forces took planets from us almost uncontested.
Davion stopped after the first day, but Marik, FRR and Draks kept it rolling.
Don´t forget the FRR is holding more Steiner territory than any other faction!

Who betrayed the IS? Your GREED is your downfall, Viking.

I have to agree, there was no reason to attack FRR when you could have concentrated forces on Marik and CJF. Tactically, it is a mistake to open up attacks from FRR when you need to focus down Marik and defend vs CJF.

They are smart to ally with the Wolves, they know we cannot be stopped.

CI has been fighting well for you guys but in the end they will fall.

Yeah, is it like that? Good thing then we didn´t stop your retreat from Lovinac.

It have been Steiner forces that attacked us first, we fought at 4 fronts from the very beginning, until the kurita NAP. And still we managed to not only stop the CGB and Wolf onslaught, we still managed to strike back at you guys and win territories. If you guys wouldn´t have decided against an NAP with us you probably would have gotten one.

I'm a merc, so I'll fight wherever my unit orders me to go. Haven't been to any IS borders yet, btw ;)

I still fail to see the strategic advantage for Steiner igniting the flames of war with the FRR again. Especially since the border was peaceful in the last days. Fighting on a third front just binds forces that could be used better somewhere else.

You got it all wrong. None of this is about tactics. We were just trying to get our buddy Vlad laid (really uptight guy), and after browsing some singles sites it appears Katrina is looking for that kinda a-hole guy. Figured they would make a good match, but we cannot set this up with us all fightin and stuff, quiaff?

You´re pretty early with that, by this timeline Vlad is still a nobody. ^^

The FRR attacked the Stieners from the getgo and now call Stieners "traitors" for trying to take back those planets. Your sense of honor is nonexistant.

FRR wiill be a one planet side note soon enough no worries. That's really all this is, the FRR's desperate attempt to save themselves from being clan occupied space.

We haven't kneeled to the wolves. We simply have a ceasefire while each take care of other priorities, such as the Green Pigeons, and you torturous and dishonorable FRR. If you want to make amends with the Commonwealth, then you can start by returning the Commonwealth worlds you took. There was nothing in it for the FRR to take those worlds in the first place.

But if you think you can attack the Commonwealth and not suffer any consequences, then you are seriously mistaken. And don't expect a ceasefire without accepting those consequences.

I think the most important question has been missed here: does this hurt the jerkwads of CW? Based on forum posts, that appears to be the Lords aka JF.

Given that the precedent of IS / Clan nonagression has been set, would the energy involved in this rage not be better spent trying to convince the (Warden) Wolves to take the fight to those hidebound, inflexible, and just all around lame neighbors they have?

Just a thought

If you looked at it from the start it was mostly PUGs that attacked Steiner from FRR and attacked FRR from Steiner space. The only difference was that ours took more planets than yours. Then you refused the proposed non-agression pact and now you make a deal with the Tin-cans to all out attack us, your fellow IS neighbours. Now who is the dishonorable guys again??

Does this mean that Steiner doesn't want any FRR help when their planets are being attacked by a Clan enemy? If you wish to wage war against FRR, consider that you also cut off any aid for your planets under Clan attack, as well.

Those sneaky Wolves have successfully pitted IS vs IS if this keeps up. Just when you least expect it, the Wolves will surround Steiners and bite off chunks of your dominion.

The Wolves aren't the problem for us. Our problem is Jade Falcon so it makes sense for us to have a ceasefire with the Wolves. They have no love for the Jade Falcons.

Paying the Wolf geld?

Maybe it is time for you to renew your payments of DANE-GELD?

I don't see how Steiner wins anything from this. They just replace the Wolves with the FRR in their conflict and FRR is the stronger faction so far. So the only ones who profitate are the Wolves and Bears.

Problem is they aren't 'replacing' anything FFR were already assaulting Steiner space, with or without any NAP with Clan Wolf. So Steiner has decided to at least reduce the amount of fronts they're fighting from by one. Steiner has enough problems with CJF, which only have two options for targets and Marik which also are limited in their options.

Unlike 'Canon' in which all the IS had a Non-aggression treaty in place to deal with the clan invaders.

Yeah, that's not true, I dropped as a PUG on day one and grouped with a 11-man Steiner group that were trying to retake a world from FRR.

It's funny that Steiner's are complaining about Marik. Steiner territory is a secondary front. Our main focus is dealing with the Davion threat. We've got to deal with 228, ACES, Aces Wild, HHoD, etc. (Pretty much all of the main comp units).

If Steiner, FRR, and Kurita were more concerned about losing planets to the Clans, I would think they would make arrangements with other IS units for Defensive help.

Personally, I don't have a need to defend either of those 3 from the clans. However, I suppose if Steiners really wanted help, an arrangement could be discussed in terms of a ceasefire in return for Defensive support.

The FWLM is just trying to secure our borders and our mentality currently is the best defense is a good offense.

So much propaganda!

Day one saw the FRR under assault from ALL the factions that were able to attack it, this was also to a greater or lesser extent the experience of all the factions.
I refer you all to a thread with a good briefing of the daily planet flips http://mwomercs.com/...from-the-front/

After a few days of fighting things "changed", arrangements were made.

But Steiner lost, they lost to everyone, Steiner had also ATTACKED everywhere, they lost almost all their attacks over these early days. The FRR came out pretty well on the IS side of things, taking worlds from our old oppressors that bound us in, Snake and fister.

The FRR and DCMS facing the greater clans as well as IS attacks, agree to a cease fire for the common good of the IS, after all, this is CLAN vs IS war. Steiner was approached, the reply was Steiner had to many small units, none of them working or communicating among themselves for the most part,. A cease fire was not feasible on the Steiner's part.

Week one ends. several large Merc units flipsides.. the biggest was -MS- leaving CGB and going to the FED/Dav's. This is the week which saw a huge Inner sphere war flare up among the non clan border IS factions.

Mean while up 'North' on the Clan fronted factions the DCMS/FRR cease fire was working well. FRR units and pugs were HIGHLY encouraged to only attack clans. Steiner still tried attacking us but was soundly repulsed, this did draw many FRR from the clan front... which allowed clan to make headway.

Then a large Steiner unit again broached a ceasefire, they said they had a steiner council going that would meet on the coming week end to formalize it. The FRR agrees to a de facto ceasefire, holds the clan advance into FRR territory and takes back the very FIRST planet from the clans, CGB.

The week end comes, Steiner council says a resounding and overwhelming NAY to peace with the IS and secretly enters into negotiations with Clan Wolf.

The weekend truly begins with a secret arrangement among Steiner and all the clans. Steiner agrees to not attack clan wolf, but instead focus on IS targets along with their fedrat allies.

Clan wolf gains a cease fire with all other Clans, focuses on the FRR and agrees to stop attacking the jade falcons. Did I mention that the FRR was very heavily involved in attacking the jade falcons at maxie's? we had it well in hand until sudden influx of all types of clammers on defense there saved it.

CGB was also now free from clan attacks and focused on DCMS, they had been losing on the FRR front, however with clan wolf now able to focus on the FRR alone, this made it possible for CGB to carry it's 2 front war vs FRR /dcms, the CSJ of course were also able to now focus on just the DCMS alone.

The DCMS, under attack by CGB, CSJ, Steiner, and Davion. the DCMS is attacking CW,CGB,CSJ,

The FRR under attack by CW,CGB, Steiner. (Davion is not physically able to attack any FRR worlds)
The FRR is attacking CW,CGB,CJF,CSJ.

Last night the FRR held firm against the wolves and took a planet back from the wolves. What did Steiner do?
