Incoming Patch, Dec 22Nd Deployed

Greetings MechWarriors,

Patch has been deployed.

Services will be coming down at 4:40pm PST (12:40am UTC) for patch maintenance! This patch includes the following changes.

Community Warfare:

  • Territories per planet have been increased to 15. It now takes 8 wins to conquer a planet.
  • Changed the dropship tonnage restrictions from 140-240 to 160-240.

Boreal Vault:

  • Changed the Out of Bounds area behind the Omega target.
  • Increased the health of the Omega target by 50.
  • Increased the health of the Omega Door Generators by 50.

Sulfurous Rift:

  • Increased the health of the Omega target by 50.
  • Increased the health of the Omega Door Generators by 50.

The change to 8 wins to flip a planet is nice.

I still think it should be a cumulative percentage of wins instead of a points based system, this still means only the last 2-3 hours of games actually achieve anything :(

Since I'm running at 240 tons in my drop ship... dropship change is meh.

Since I have only won on the attacking side with an IS crew once out of 15 or 20 games... health buff on targets is ouch.

I don't understand why you would want to make attacking Boreal even harder than it already is. Why not just add tactical nukes for the defenders and be done with it?

Speaking of out-of-bounds. The mountains along the invasion paths of boreal vault are listed as out-of-bounds but I saw a kit fox jump jetting up there and shooting down at attackers. Check by the gate entrances.

How do you stop "A Charge of The Light Brigade" for the generator?

Nº1 Up the minimum tonnage form 120 to 140 = instead of 4 spiders people brought Jenners & Firestarters?

Nº2 Add more generators and raise retain to create "cover", also"nerf' defender drop ships, = 2-3 waves of fast mechs to kill the objective?

Nº3 Up the minimum tonnage to 160 = have to bring one 55 ton mech and 3 Firestarters, probably will take 4 waves to kill the objective?

I bet it will still be a tactical "bum" rush for the generators. I just hope there will be more modes in CW then "Shot the Generator".

Yeah, pretty sure the generators and cannon don't need MORE HP. If anything, having to hit 4 locations instead of 1 is more than enough already. Defense really doesn't need anymore buffs. Overall, I'm not very pleased with this patch. Seems unnecessary.

Does this patch need the clients updated or is this a server side update?
