Then again being in the UK, I am used to having to compensate for crap hit reg (otherwise known as lag) while playing online games. You think this is bad? Try playing against Dutch or Scandinavians on an Xbox Live game such as CoD or Battlefield, they seem to know where your head is before it is there and even if you have them dead to rights they seem to be able to dodge incoming fire like the plague.
I have to admit the progress has been slow but until the day the servers close down and PGi bids us all a farewell, I will keep playing and hoping that the game will fulfill at least a major part of its potential. The three basic core modes are little underwhelming but just like WoT, they are where you go to grind out your in-game monies and skills. With time and the DEV's allowing the huge number of skilled and insightful (not sarcasm) players out here to help them, we could have a diverse selection of maps, variations and amalgamation of game modes to keep the non-CW crowd happy.
As has been discussed in another thread, there is potential for maps with dynamic style maps (ala Battlefield) that expands as objectives are completed. Or as Coffinail posted somewhere, a wide open map with multiple objectives that are tiered to encourage mobile battles or at least to force tactical choices on the and encourage coordination and communication.
Simply rolling out a Meme that basically says nothing doesn't really help, even if PGi seem not to be listening some of what we come up with might actually get through and spark off an idea. 2 or 3 years from now we could be sitting embroiled in the most in-depth and enthralling MechWarrior / Great House/ Clan intergalactic battle ever managed. Then all the silly Memes and hate filled threads will seem..... well silly.
Sue me, I'm an optimist
