Because they do.

Let's examine what would happen to other things in life if we applied this 'belief.'

I once worked in a data entry room providing assistance to people using computers. These people would complain of problems with the devices or program used for the data entry. What if anytime thy had a complaint, I just told them to, 'Man Up!' and deal with their broken thing?

I worked in US Army Signal and later civilian telecommunications. At times things broke and I was one of the people who had to fix them. What if I was to tell someone with a problem they need to stop whining and, 'Man Up!'

I have lived through two terrorist attacks, working in the Trade Center during the 1993 bombing and not far away for 9-11. What if we told terror attack victims to, 'Man Up!' and help themselves out of what happened.

Best example yet, what if the MWO server has a problem and a portion of the community cannot get on maybe even all of us. PGI can tell us to, 'Man Up! Adapt and overcome, the problem is YOU and you need to stop whining! Now buy our new stuff.'

Those trying to pull ITGA (Internet Tough Guy Act) clearly must never have had a job to have the attitude they post with. Providing services to fix broken things and provide balance is a part of gaming, been that way since before Internet gaming existed and it is a part of many a business and service. The 'Man Up!' complainers also clearly spent too much time in extremist politics. Please take your own advice, Man Up! and leave your politics in the political arena where you have messed things up already. If I wanted to play a game of politics, I would have joined one or ran for office.

The vast majority of the time the people whining are wrong though. Usually people get killed by something either due to their own lack of skill or due to opponents high level of skill, and come whining to get whatever weapon they died to nerfed - because they cannot accept that they arent the best evar,

See all the LRM whine threads for example, when LRMs are trash 90% of the time against any semi competent player.

I do tech support for a living. There are constantly times when you have to tell an end user more or less that.

User: "Every time I change my password because it is about to expire this happens."
Me: "And every time I tell you the correct way to change your password and you do it the other way and you have to call me."

User: "I've got this computer. I only log into it maybe once a month, but every time I have to call you guys."
Me: "That would be because unless you log in every couple of weeks the security certificates expire, so even if you don't use it weekly make a habit of logging it into the network and you will never have to call us for that particular problem again."

So when people complain about non-issues they could resolve themselves you bet I am going to tell them to "man up".

Dear OP.

It's the extremes that cause the problem.

There are people that immediately say "man up" for every whiner.
On the opposite spectrum you have some people that constantly say "everything is wrong, nothing is right, all the bad stuff (losses, bad team etc) happen only to me every single time"

And then you got everyone in the middle.

Extremes are bad. Not everyone needs a "man up" solution. Likewise, despite what a dude in my last posting would like to believe, the matchmaker does not revolve around him and does not select him to forcefully put him on bad teams 100% of the time.

Some people do need to man up. Others need to not give out the same response. We all need to be a bit more understanding and less judgemental.

Peace bro.

Cool story. really.

But this isn't customer assistance or the Hospitality industry, This is you coming into the break room and grousing about the job with your coworkers. Some of them will agree with you, others will tell you you are a whiner! Welcome to the Breakroom. PGI HAS to be nice to complainers... I don't. -_-

And this is where YOU come in. For every Man up, You can be the moderate voice! :D

Complaints can be in the form of constructive criticism, or meaningless rambling AKA Whining. Nobody has issue with the former.

I think the issue is you have a certain population here that think they are special. Their not. No one cares if your big man around MWO because it doesn't add up to a pile of beans in this world or real life. No one cares if you have money or a bunch of fellow pimple faced friends on teamspeak. No one cares what your W/L is either. Its a game stupids.

Just imagine these kings of the forum playing monopoly. There would be a hair pulling fight for the top hat.

Its fine for everyone to post what bugs them. Myself I don't want or ask for nerfs so you may see me comment in kind but that its. Once per thread I happen to see or bother to post on.

But the many here who post over and over with snotty remarks, meme's or other nonsense are deluded to think anyone cares what they say anymore than me or the first time poster. Your nothing in a little niche game somewhere on the cornier of the net. So whenever you dump on pugs, noobs or scrubs just remember somewhere a pretty girl is laughing and mocking you. and those you mock probably have a far better chance at the pretty girl then you ever will.

P.S, Meme's are now understood to be the badge of a true moron. So please keep it up, we would like to identify you for avoidance purposes.

Not quite true Ego. StJobe is known to give some of the best constructive criticism and if he disagrees with SOME of the players here they do reach for the meaningless rambling.
