Yeah, but the last step is just buying a whole lot all at once so you don't notice the problem for a while.

Another patch and still nothing to address the lack of endo upgrade ability for certain clan mechs. I hope Russ addresses this in his round table tomorrow.

as if endo really would fix bad hardpoints in distribution or location.

I fully believe that quirks for clan 'mechs can be skipped if they are willing to change other things instead like allowing ES upgrades, limited unlocking of engines, and additional omnipods that are out-of-timeline or even invented from thin air if need be.

I think limited quirks and unlocking Endo/Ferro, unlocking JJs, and unlocking DHS (at least DHS location) would go a long ways to balancing the underperforming clans.

Also fixing their terribad ballistics would help too.

can't hurt, and several mechs like the Summoner and Gargoyle actually would benefit greatly, as would the Mad Dog, Hellbringer, and to a lesser extent, the Nova. Only mechs that really need massive help that it doesn't do something for are the Ice Ferret and the Mist Lynx....and both of them already have endo. And really even the Ice Ferret isn't bad on hardpoints...just the tonnage to use them.

I'm pretty opposed to a general unlock. One step at a time, IMO. Though I would actually like to see the first step in my lifetime. I also admit though, the thought of non jumping Executioners, Summoners and Mist Lynx makes my stomach turn.

For the Nova if ES was unlocked and they allowed the in-multiples-of-your-tonnage only engine swaps I would upgrade to ES and a 300XL faster than the stock Prime overheats.

All we would need then is the 3077-era Nova-U head omnipod and all of your backs would belong to me.

To be fair, Griffins configurations that have no PPCs is blasphemy on par with non-jumping Executioners and Summoners yet the best Griffin configs run SRMs and MLs instead of PPCs.

I do agree unlocking should be taken one step at a time, because the god tier mechs could potentially use these unlocks (DHS movement for example) to become even godlier.

Timberwolf has no locked DHS outside of the engine. Effect would be Zero.

Stormcrow has no locked DHS outside of the engine. Effect would be Zero.

If people still think of the Dire Wolf as "god tier" for whatever reason (even though it sees ZERO use in CW and now the IS has the King Crab) it has exactly 3 locked DHS outside of the engine you could possibly move around on a 'mech that already has 50+ tons of space and plenty of crit slots due to lack of ES or FF. Effect would be zero or minimal at best.

My bad for some reason I thought they did, it was probably moving FF and ES that I was thinking of then.

Though the Arctic Cheetah could potentially benefit from this, having only 8 true-dubs.

Arctic Cheetah will have 9 in the engine as true doubles and then 1 outside, which sucks. I hate how the first 10 MUST be in the engine to be real doubles. The Adder and Kit Fox get ****** over by this too. If it was 10 I bet I could run 6 x CSPL but I think wanting to run ECM I will have to change out some of those for CERSL to get some more DHS.

do agree, think the first 10 DHS should always count as TrewDubs. Would be almost as big a boost for mechs like the Mist Lynx as torso hardpoints.

It would be better if regardless of the heat sink type, the first 10 counted as True Dubs. Singles would be more useful than they are now, especially for lights...

I agree, this doesn't effect the Stormcrow, nor does it effect the Timberwolf or Dire Wolf (Which I believe aren't as BS as the SC) and would help make the other mechs more viable.

I'd rather see this implemented before they try to pigeonhole quirks to chassis and destroy builds.

Yup. I prefer the "ready, aim, fire" approach.... sadly, PGI prefers spray and pray, and to try to clean up the mess later. Lol. And this is coming from one of their supporters, mind you.
