nope Russ has stated on Twitter,

@russ_bullock russ just wondering if we are gonna get the upgrade for ADR/MLX Flamer/CAP removal? people are PMing me asking your thoughts?

Russ Bullock@russ_bullock Mar 5
@AndiNagasia I won't think on that any more until we're done with the clan quirk passes - sorry

yes this is about unlocking ADR/MLX Fixed Flamer/CAP, but we can assume Russ is also talking about,
Bishop's(Unlocking Omni Endo Topic) and My(Unlocking Omni JumpJets Topic),

I'd much rather they set the Heat Cap to 35 ~ 40.

More HPs should be more weapon range/type variety.
Less HPs would be less weapons but are more focused in what they take.

Not being able to dump 8 HPs worth of weapons into a single shot without significant risk to internals and safety would go a long way to making the TBR and Dire Whale more balanced relative to other Clan 'Mechs.

Also, the only reason the Nova is weaker than the Storm Crow is because the Storm Crow is half the size with tiny (broken) hitboxes. The Nova actually packs a bigger punch.

If you want to fix the Nova, make it 30-40% smaller, right now its almost as large and wide as the King Crab with half the armor.

Yeah, ya see, the thing with most of my topics? It's usually things that are realistically can happen. Does the Nova (and many others) need to be resized? Yep. Any chance it will happen? Nope.

Thus, not worth my time to post about. Instead I prefer to focus on ways to salvage them that are (potentially() attainable.

Definitely more productive that way.

There simply aren't going to be major game mechanic changes (totally revised heat system), no matter how good an idea it may be. And, agree with their reasoning or not, clearly they aren't going to rescale any mechs.

Its all fine and dandy to "wish list" but there's no point in seriously pushing for that stuff.

still dont like how Upgrades and JJ are locked for these Mechs,
the engine locks make sense, the DHS being locked make sense,
but everything else doesnt really,

i understands its to make these mechs feel different,
but the catch is that BattleMechs are more Omni than OmniMechs,

BattleMechs shouldnt be able to switch Endo and Ferro,
they should locked as a BattleMech cant really change those things with out months of modifications,
Why? this MW title was initially created with only BattleMechs, so as all other MW games Customization was key,
but with Clans they had to be different, in TT Rules most Omnis only have Locked DHS, and Fixed Upgrade slots,
not dynamic like IS, but since Clan Mechs are "OP" they locked JJ as well as their upgrades,

im sure if someone Complained enough to PGI we would have Locked AMS and ECM as well, sadly,

SCR and NVA use the same legs so simply reshaping won't work, it would suddenly make the nova ugly, but the Nova could get HP buffs like the dragon and many other mechs did.

To make it clear - i was for a long opposed to the idea to allow - OmniMech changing structure, heatsinks or else.

but plain and simple - why not - the Summoner will be still be the worse option in comparison with the Timber - the MadDog no real option for a Hellbringer (given ES and FF a killer Mech)

But keep reactor and jump jets as they are - a not jumping Summoner will be bad.

The easiest quirk to give Clan mechs that have locked FF armour is to give them a 25% heat reduction quirk for all weapon types (energy, ballistics, missiles).

Such a heat reduction quirk would definitely make up for the lack of pod tonnage for weapons.

It would help the Summoner and definitely the Nova.

The summoner need more ammunition, not reduced heat ;) i can't overheat my Prime - but i can't mount a SRM either because otherwise i wouldn't have enough ammunition

Nova doesn't have Ferro...or Endo.

TimberGod and DoomCrow have both...

And I for one am tired of relying on quirks, bandaid fixes and being pigeonholed into laservomit meta.

Lol. You and me both.

At least I am entertaining myself with my Zeus currently. But would love a reason to buy the SMN for my IS acct, too.

Other quirk possibilities:
FF armour only Clan mechs:
25% heat reduction for energy, missile, and ballistic weapons
25% damage reduction on armoured parts
+10 points internal structure

Clan mechs with no FF armour or Endo Steel:
25% heat reduction for energy, missile, and ballistic weapons
+25 points internal structure
+10 Speed bonus (after all the Summoner received a +5 Speed Bonus)

My mistake on the Nova.

aside from laservomit, you don't need less heat on the SMN, you got 14 locked DHS. The issue is you simply don't have the tonnage to do anything beside Laservomit (which it lacks the hardpoints to do well) or Missilevomit. About the only fucntional mixed loadout is the Gauss and 4x ERML, which works, but is 1) boring (IMO) and 2) does nothing to add options for playing it.

Part of the appeal of an Omni is the "customizable" loadout. But if you like ballistics, especially thanks to doubled armor, you simply don't have enough ammo.

You Lore guys crack me up with all the animosity for boaters. Boating is true to Lore. Stock build? Kintaro 18C comes with 5 lrm5s 1620 lrms and 2 mpl. Is that loadout on a medium not considered a lrm boat?

Don't really care either way with your main point other than to say being able to swap a standard engine into a Maddog might have changed my mind on selling mine.
