Remove the ability to alpha strike. Or at least remove the ability for every shot of an alpha strike to automatically aim for the same spot. TTK goes up (and removes ghost heat that everyone complains about).

UNFORTUNATELY, this would be unleash a flood of QQ on the forums, as it seems too many people simply cannot play the game effectively without it.

Arbitrarily punishing good aim tends to do that. Scaling convergence is a different thing, that REALLY needs to be implemented in the game, instead of the instant pinpoint convergence we have right now.

The problem is not the mechs, or the mechanics (some tweaking is needed, sure, but....), the REAL problem, is we have Call of Duty Map Design, and Call of Duty game types in our Giant Stompy Robot game. Although, Call of Duty at least has more elevations to work with as well.

One of the defining features, if not THE defining feature, of Mechwarrior games from 2-4, was that the maps were BIG. You could NOT effectively get sensor coverage on the whole map, without spreading out significantly. Alpine is a prime example of a Mechwarrior sized map. Sure, there are a few design issues (mostly due to Pugmagnetism of Sniper Hill), but the scale is appropriate for a SMALL Mechwarrior map.

Tied to this is the lack of any real tactical objective. Sure, we have Conquest, Assault, and now Invasion. But there is nothing really tactical about any of them. Sure, Tactics CAN be used, but mostly it just consists of Form a Deathball and charge.

Personally, I believe that Conquest should be shifted into the CW aspect of the game, with a Longer Timer, and bigger map involvement. Bigger rewards, too. Invasion needs multiple path maps (not a LoL derivative, ala Sulphur), with multiple important objectives for both the Attackers and the Defenders.

We'd keep the PuG Deathmatch in its Arena Maps and call it Instant Action. Solaris. Whatever.

Basically, we need CW to have MW sized maps, with proper objectives. Then suddenly, the game might not seem so "broken".

Good aim needs to be rewarded.

I don't know anyone who can fire 6 weapons simultaneously and hit the exact same spot. THAT goes far beyond "good aim".

For the record, we are using a point and click mouse, regardless od distance, wind, or ballistics drop, so NOBODY is actually "aiming" in this game...

One thing to note, ballistics actually drop. This isn't like other FPS games where the guns are hitscan

Deer OP... if we rolled back TTK to like half a year ago, your lifetime in game would an blink of an eye comparing to nowadays.

P.S. Those "badged noobshopers" are just an bunch of noskill nubs with a roll of green paper. Nowadays having badge on forum is like having banner that: - "I'm noob, sissy and my hand are growing from the bottom." 100% proven by community.

Nice try no badged Troll I'm laughing from my penthouse

With the new power the new mech own, I admit the game could have change a little but not that much to say this is not mwo anymore.

And for what I've quote, just play assault with ressources, if they camp they loose.
Now I'm not sure about this but capturing ressource would give a lot of cash and same for winning games.

I think one of the problems contributing to TTK is that the quantity of installed armor has far less effect on survivability than glitchy hitboxes and/or wonky hit reg does.

Time to kill mechs is way too low. This is not mechwarrior. What happened to targeting specific components of a mech for a reason? What happened to those long drawn out nailbiter brawls that everyone enjoyed? Why does everyone hide behind hills and wait for mechs to come over?

Warhawks are more fragile than Stormcrows and Timberwolves because they have broken hitboxes that do not register damage properly. 85 ton mech goes down faster than a 55 ton mech. This should not happen.

Russ, PGI, you really need to increase internals/armor by about 1/3 across the board, including clan mechs, and fix the Timberwolf and Stormcrow hitboxes so they are on the same level as all the other mechs. Until then, this is Call of Duty, mechwarrior edition, and people are losing patience with this game.

I agree with this! Also, I understand the occasional need for a raucous burst of capslock, but be aware that your tone could be considered adversarial, and thus your responses will likely also be.

I would prefer a large internal structure and component health increase, with varying degrees of component damage that had tangible effects. Lasers producing more heat or having erratic burn times, longer reload times and poor accuracy for damaged ballistics, the chance of LRM's detonating in the launcher and further damaging your mech, or even torso twist penalties. Others have mentioned it, but the feeling of your colossal war machine slowly dying around you has been... condensed somewhat.

As it stands, losing the armour from any location in any mech other than an assault usually means the next hit to that location will destroy it. I'd like this stretched out.
