Well, no need to risk an expensive piece of equipment or the mission.
Just go there and blast him away 3on1. You minimise the risk of defeat, death, expenses and mission.
No honor gained, pants saved.

are we talking in this game? or in some fictional universe where this stuff is real?

either way id say no.

in the game: probably some madcat fanboi, who thinks it justifies his clantech advantage, so we'll just gang up on him.
in makebelive real life: mechs are expensive and i dont want to die.

(unless in this makebelievealternaterealitywheremechsarereal Im somehow a clanner, then yes i suppose i would honor it)

Yes. And it is not about honor or fairness. Just to make things more interesting I'll whack him 1v1.

Hypothetically speaking, YES, because I'm a honourable warrior. But let’s face it - those 3 guys will never call zellbrigen

Oh, wait - you said 3v1 in my favour?...

The original text.

Translation by Google.
That's 3 to 1 in your favor. So, it all depends on you which way you choose, the way a coward, or the way the war that honors the traditions of their ancestors and not looking for easy road to victory. Indeed, in the field сферы, too, were many famous characters that are not inferior to the clan of honor.

We've tried this before, me and a couple of guys on a random drop, on a slightly different situation; the way things developed was, the opposing team had dropped with a deficiency of three 'Mechs due to a matchmaker bug, I believe, and, of course, the first thing they did was remark as to how unfair it was, to which we responded that it would be fair to decide the outcome of the battle through a series of duels.
Everyone on text communications seemed to agree.

That is, until lasers, AC shells and missiles started being thrown around quite liberally, and I'm not even sure whom started it, or why.

Anyway, whilst I really approve of the idea, I just don't think it's practical.

I would always respect such a demand/suggestion, its a test of skill and its fun too.

To a
ll the posters here, i say this, good show if nothing else, you all perform your parts quite excellent ^^

Clanners are answering yes without a doubt.

IS scum admit to adhere to the battlefield logic shared by starving/underteched nations, and the cowardly nature of humans in general.

Mercs admit to worshipping the almighty c-bill, while some do have the balls to take up a challenge when they have the opportunity.

and the lulz-crowd admit to being pathetic casuals that dont put in enough time or effort to afford not caring about the reapir bill. ( it only sets you back 1 match which is at most 10 minutes... really your that petty?).

I will say this regardless though; It is just a game, and as such everyone have their own way of enjoying it, some like to be challenged and grow, some like to keep the style they set out to adhere to, and some just wanna pad their stats because their lives are empty, to each their own.

Now i never seize to offer the chance of honourable combat when i see the opposing team is outnumberd due to DC's or MM bugs, however 0 out of 7 that accepted has made it to the desired arena before my "team" ( im of course talking about the ones that dont drop with me as a group) blew them to bits.
Twice I met the opponent un-opposed with noone around to interfere, only to find out he is on my "team" and we thusly cancelled the duel...

on the notion of "wasting peoples time" i say this; go eat your Ritalin and stream some senseless crap off of youtube.

Cant wait till we get premade matches so i can get outta the kindergarden and finally fight some proper warriors...

As a clanner, I would accept.
As a member of a house I would not.
As a merc I would cheat.

Back in the days of Mechwarrior 3 me and my unit had a special rank awarded to a pilot after he managed 10 kills in a 20 kill game during a 1v2 situation vs 2 of my elite warriors. Some of you might think this is easy.... but I can assure you that being outnumbered versus 2 BLOODRED pilots and then managing 10 kills was hardcore. If you were good enough to handle this.... you were awarded one of our highest combat ranks outside of the Officer tier. Many of our Officers never accomplished the trial though many tried for years to beat it. A 1v3 situation wouldnt scare me..... I would never ask for such a crutch.

Should he deserve it, I would give him an honorable death. As an honorable mercenary, I would expect (and order if necessary) a member of my team to take the objective while we fought. I would not agree to breach my contract, and neither would any I would trust my back to. I would make this clear before his honorable death.

Without a doubt. I aught to try this sometime, actually. I have been the last man standing far too many times as it is. XD
