I prefer vent or teamspeak - tried mumble and hated it.
Most likely vent - TS 3 makes it too easy for spies with the ability to log into two servers simultaneously and switch quickly between them. Unless they've put safeguards in against that kinda thing, of course.
Hey BF,
I kinda agree with the security concerns but read it the opposite. I'm a clan leader in World of Tanks. We for a long time ran a 100 slot Ventrilo server to service our Clan Proper & our Academy Team. I found Vent to be very intuitive & easy to operate but just a bit lacking on the smarts. Not really possible to personalise the appearance or performance of the vent server but the big minus is anyone dropping into the top room (for us it was our Diplomacy Channel) & instantly seeing how many players from your clan were on before deciding on a possible assalut or alternate action. It happened to us ONCE.
I've now swapped us onto TeamSpeak3. Clearer comms, still lightweight data & importantly, we've set up the server so that any visitor sees only what we want them to see which is basically nothing.
My only regret is being a tight wad & subscribing to a cheaper provider.. had too many server shutdowns (4 in last month) so will be swapping server providers to Light-Speed or similar soon.
Been keen to investigate Mumble too, but I think I got too many dum-dums in our clan to expect them to digest ANOTHER comms system!
Anyhow, our TeamSpeak will be open to anyone who wants to come and Lance up!
