2 Urbie Packs bought, 1 Collectors Edition the other is the Standard pack! I know a couple of guys in my Unit have bought them as well so far, let's see how well I can put out the peer pressure to get the whole unit getting them.

If there is enough demand, than I have purchased what I wanted, so again, I have not been 'parted' from anything, by any definition. I have paid for a product that I have deemed is a worthy return for my money. Your cynical psuedo-analysis of other peoples spending habits, is rather misplaced.

By your strict definition, anyone who pays for -anything- other than life necessities -food, shelter, transportation, etc.- is essentially a fool.

We get it - you don't like the Urbanmech. Hence, you feel it is somehow a waste. For you, that is fine. The rest of us, however, are willing to spend the money, because we want it. So long as we are not spending ourselves into bankruptcy to do so and then coming to you to help us with bills, it is entirely none of your concern.

I have said in another thread, that in all reality, I am not terribly excited about the Urbie. But what I am doing here is backing a call from the community that Paul called the bluff on. He said he would make it, if people bought it. That means, if this works and later down the road, when something I DO want comes up for debate/auction, Paul will be -much- more likely to put the wheels in motion to have it delivered to us.

Which seems to be the real point you are missing. This is actually a 'test market' for other options that may come down the line. We are being given a chance to influence some development - and THAT is a good thing.

Apparently the sales are going well so far. Russ Bullock:As to Urban Mech sales, the update is that things have gone fairly well. We have achieved about 1/3 of the sales needed in this first day.

In other words I think it looks pretty good, will update you somewhat regularly in January.

Wow. I guess I should. I mean, I care 'little and less' about lore/cannon, never read the books, don't even recall the Urbie in the TT game or MW2/3. But there is so much passion here about it, I feel a lemming moment coming on!

And the PT & bays is worth the $20 with some hardware to go with it.

But come on now: a 32kph light is gonna be useless in MWO. Cute, but useless. I hope it can at least pull 90kph... right...? RIGHT???

I hate to break to it you, but that's how it works for ALL Mechs except the absolute top tier. I have ~100 Mechs and I regularly play... ~5 of them. So the Urbie will be no worse than the new Adder B or Summoner whatever-the-hell-it-is.

At least the Urbie will have an enthusiastic group of people who will actually set up 12 vs 12 drops periodically.

I'm really not a fan of the Urbanmech.

But I ponied up $40.

I believe in supporting the game and more mechs in the game is always a good thing....

Plus to the bonus stuff is decent so I'm not really out all that much. If they turn out to be junk, I can always hock 'em for beer money.
