Feedback:

I would have liked to see the 3 say premium time earn-able again.

I was on 3 points from last week and the challenge gave me no incentive to play this weekend.

I have been quite busy and playing with Scrolls which I picked up in the humble bundle. There was no way I had the time to earn 27points, but I would have spent a few drops earning the 3 points for the lower tier reward.

Every challenge should offer something for every type of player - casual to hardcore (with MWO I have been both of these things at different times).

Challenges should be the heroin that gets you clicking "play game" I did not really feel this challenge had the hook that previous ones did.

meh.. i dont like heavys, i dont like cataphract.. didnt care for the event, when i got the 30 points i immediatly sold the cataphract

and now its another weekend of horrifying "HI! I LURM YOU TO DEATH" or "oops, was that your back? sorry, i need that kill" people in games..
i appreciate the events.. but i hate the people playing them.. well atleast the ones shooting in my back, legging me so i wont kill anything , shooting everything what they see, shooting teammates to secure a kill for themselfs, doing NOTHING until an enemy is deeply red in center and then "secure" a kill even if their whole team is dying, playing mass lurm boats (like every event...)

and sometimes they suddenly notice "****, we have to win to get a point".. cant see all the rage anymore when your one of the last 3 vs 8, get 4 of them and then they complain why you didnt get the other 4, too..in a light.. with one leg because someone in your team shot the other..

and all of this for a crappy cataphract..oh my..

^ ten more points you get a statue - Got my statue so im done,

Wasn't that bothered about the statue certainly don't want the camo.

92 games for 40 points

On a personal level I'm happy with my performance since in about 5 of the games I didn't get a kill and in atleast 15 of the games I seemed to be paired with lemmings vs teams that actually had played MWO before.

No amount of carrying will win those games.

Nice one Kai

Salute. 07

You can't just be an Atlas Pilot, the frame chooses you.

As for the XP front I am not quite at the 4 million mark but I am getting there..

out of 95 matches I so far have 17 qualifying, win/loss is about even, when the team looses I usualy have at least 1 kill, multiple assists and 400+ damage, when we win I am still doing OK in terms of assists and damage but rarely get the kills.

this is frustrating

edit:
well, time for bed, I will not be home from work in time to continue the challenge tomorrow, my results after 2 weekends:
117 games,
58 wins
47 games with kills
112 games with assists,
22 points

My Clan told me, I m a Atlas-Pilot (made more than 4 Million XP with it). I realize, they are right:

There are certain Mechs/loadouts that will always be more successful than others in a tournament that requires you to get a kill.

An Assault will generally be easier to qualify with than other weight classes, due to its armor (longevity) and larger number of more powerful weapons. However, other cheesebuilds also prove effective: for example, the FS9A or S (hard to hit it, but easy for it to deliver a killing blow to an opponent's back armor), or LRM boats, stealing brawler's kills via remote locks.

It's a shame "good piloting" doesn't get the same rewards. Now that PGI are calculating certain aspects of good piloting, such as scouting and flanking, you'd think these could be incorporated in challenges in some way. "Kills" are mostly just "killing blows", and these are too often a lottery.

Yup I used the lurm boat to pull it off.

Lurm boats get a hard time and its BS that their " easy mode"

Some flat out facts.

Take on anything with pinpoint damage in LoS you will lose.

Which almost every other wep system has.

A bad lrm pilot wont break 200 damage .

A good one will be knocking out 400-500 average (with accuracy)

with the occasional 1k game

Lrms may be easy to point and shoot with

But they are by far the hardest weapon to win with .

Your heavily reliant on you team situational awareness .

More so then any other system and in a straight out brawl your outclassed by almost every other weapon on the field.

That's fine you can indirect fire you say? Maybe if you get a decent team .

If not it gets even harder.

Indirect fire is the only reason as lrms currently stand there just really really bad compared to other weapon systems not flat out unuseable.

Thanks for the added time to catch up for others not quite as dedicated to grinding for a weekend as the rest of us. I like the baubles for my mechs and the statue makes a nice addition. The camo will pop when I add some colour to it. Again, thanks for the fun!

don't bother trying to get this challenge in skirmish. there are some real low-life people out there who will hide out the remainder of the match to make sure no one gets a point. it's really pathetic.

but at least i get to laugh at some people:

Ran into a couple of them. One of them many many many things I don't understand, is why people do this....along with people who drop then (apparently) just sit there, not disconnected but just sit there.

Yes laughing at idiots/whiners (including looking in the mirror  ) is one of my best things.

True most of the time. Hard to get kills, reliant on others mostly.

Just earlier i took on a lrm battlemaster with my 4x ac5 crab. 40 dmg to him even before his lrms hit me.

I know it was stated earlier in the thread that the points "carry over" from the first challenge. Yet, my profile says i only have 2 qualifying matches- from yesterday. Are these points going to be tallied, or is something being overlooked?

I applaud the continued trend of challenges and work they are doing. The fact that they are trying different things is awesome.

With that said, I really hate this and the previous kill/assist/win challenge. I completed the victor challenge, all solo drops, and hated every minute of it. This challenge I'm about half way in and have no illusions that I will complete it. I think I'm at the ELO point where I get saddled with more new players than skilled. That's fine, but it does make it hard when you have 5 free mechs on your team and half of your guys new to the map. Add in the literal mob of people who jump you trying to get a kill and it's just not fun. No amount of personal skill in solo will win this challenge, it just comes down to pure dumb luck with your team. After the victor challenge I didn't play for a few weeks because I was so frustrated with it.

This challenge I am 40+ matches in and have a whopping 13 qualifying matches. The worst have been where you get 12 assists with no kills. Or where you literally get a hole drilled through your back by your team all scrambling to finish off the mech that you were in a solo dual with.

I think the only real way to do a challenge like this is a full premade drop with good teammates. Unfortunately I don't have the time to commit to that. I'm not complaining, just observing. Not a fan of this style of challenge as personal skill really isn't how it's won. I'd rather my teamwork was rewarded.

I think I like the point driven challenges better. Those tend to award you more for your personal skill than this challenge does. Hopefully we will see more of those. Anyway, cudos for the challenge and the extension, thanks for keeping the community engaged!

Definitely up the penalty for friendly fire!

Possibly even deducting a point for a teamkill?

The challenge part really is putting up with your "team" without wanting to self-harm. <_<

Finally got my 30 points.

Ended the challenge last Saturday with 9 points, but saw no realistic chance to win the mech on sunday. So this second chance was appreciated, but it was a hard time, as the remaining 21 points were a bit high.
So a "reasonable" qualifier for the next challenge would be nice.

A split of mechbay and mech, e.g. win of mechbay @10 points, mech @ xy points would be nice to give people with less time an incentive to play (longer).

Also, as it is now possible to recognize "killing blows", "most damage done" or "solo kill" as well as spotting etc. etc. it would be interesting to base the challenge on these factors. Or the game points as a proxy. You know, role warfare...

Nevertheless, thank you for the mech, PGI!

The other thing that really erks one, guy already has 4 kills... and shoots through you to get his 5th kill, stealing the only chance you had at a kill and a point. At the time you don't know he had 4 kills...then you see the end screen and just want to B!tch slap the guy for being like that. At the same time, you get it, guy just trying to help win. He may have even been shooting just for damage an not trying to get the kill, you never know. More often though, sadly, they could careless about teammates and go for all the kills they can get.
