I second that, I dont have twitter and a lot of exciting stuff is only posted there, like the hints about the new mechlab...

Can someone, somehow create a "link" or a forum section that updates with Russ twits? Like the command chair?

Only MWO related, I dont want to see pictures of his breakfast or his dog pooping in the backyard...

I was wondering the same thing. Im still relatively new and Im a bit surprised that they dont communicate here on thier forums. Twitter seems like a very odd platform to communicate with the playerbase to me. Everything thats being discussed is being discussed right here on these forums every day.

Makes me wonder if they even look at the forums. Maybe its something to keep us busy but they dont bother to read it besides posting announcements.

Maybe its just me

Cheers

Jax

I think if the MWO site was more mobile friendly then I think it would probably be used more. (yes, even though we can still change the theme to a mobile layout).

OR.
It'd be nice if MWO forums just had a twitter feed for the officials at the top or something.

I dunno.. SOMETHING!

Edit: Okay, I said "SOMETHING".
But I misunderstood my feelings, thinking that I'd accept "ANYTHING". Which is not the case.
I see that Tina suggested manually updating a pinned thread with tweets, and if it's going to be a labourous task such as that, then I'm completely fine with opening twitter and doing it how I've always been doing it.

It's a luxury item to have tweets incorporated with the website, but if it cannot be done in a way that makes good sense, I'm not going to be pompous enough to endorse PGI wasting their time like updating a thread manually, tweet by tweet.
I just would not feel right knowing that.

Perhaps the Community Manager can tracks those tweets and put them in a separate forum titled "Russ' tweets"?

I have never understood PGI's aversion to their own forums ,

even back in closed beta while they were more active they still seemed to prefer scattering information over twitter and reddit rather than their own forums.

My best guess is that they feel it is better marketing.

oh well its annoying but it is a hell of a lot better than no info so i guess we should be thankful for what is mentioned.

Twitter feed would not be hard to implement.

Forums should be used, but I also support other communication platforms such as twitter and its good to see PGI and players interact on those services.

I don't know how I would get to sleep without @@Paul_Inouye updates on the map ...

Zeece does this on reddit, and tries to cross post as much as possible.

Zeece does not get enough street cred for all that work.

On twitter you don't have to handle criticism, on forums you do.

I will never do a twitter account.

Here is mwo forum. And HERE Russ should write, if he should ever be interested in base opinion.

I have a twitter account and I hate it however i use it to help keep track of what my daughter is up to. I did subscribe to the russ and mwo pages and there is much more info there than here and that saddens me. We have a lame news feed on the front page that could be a Russ twit feed. I find that several on the twit page are bottom feeding brown nosers trying to get a leg up. They are the tasty ones to slay in the field of battle

We asked for that multiple times. We asked previous Community Managers as well as the current one.

So far...nothing.

Russ Twitter account could just mirror all his posts to here to some "Russ Bullocks Twitter" -thread... shouldn't be that hard to do.

PGI's engagement has dropped off since Christmas. In the fall of 2014 there was a lot of activity on these forums but it has essentially disappeared in 2015.

Did PGI sell the license rights off on Jan 1, 2015 so that there is now someone else running the show? Someone with an attitude much more like IGP than the really useful PR push that PGI had in the fall? Or did PGI get what they wanted out of that extra effort and are now no longer interested?

These forums were generally very upbeat in the fall of 2014 ... but if PGI continues to ignore them in 2015 ... I can see them getting quite nasty again ...

Dear PGI & Russ,

lot's of things have changed since the "departure" of IGP and the general communication has been greatly improved (thanks also to the guys from NGNG). However, I think you should open a "dev's blog": put there comments and a sneak peek now and then. Even the daily routine helps to reduce the gap between you and the playerbase.

I wouldn't say we're sharks, we're more like very angry pigeons.

There ya go. In less time than it takes to read this thread or respond to this post, you can hear from the man himself.

No twitter account is needed to read. Just bookmark it and read.

Russ is often replying to players past midnight.

He has said in the town halls that twitter lets him respond to us fast without wading through 30 pages of arguments.

Town halls, monthly roadmaps and constant twitter. If you feel like PGI is not in communication with the player base, I don't know how to help you.

The sole use of Twitter to communicate with your customers is extremely unprofessional.
