Players are saying that PUGs should stay out of CW.
Well i think they shouldnt.

Fixs PGI could look at.

1) Using a voip.

2) setup a lance coms, like BF4 has.

3) force PUGS to be on ts3. not a good at all.

So there are games out there that have ideas on how to fix the comms idea.

I agree that Pugs should not be forced out of CW. More Pugs equal more drops.

VOIP should be coming pretty soon. In the last Town-hall Russ said they had it functioning but just needed to finish adding some UI elements (i.e. a way to mute people, or see who's talking). It sounded like February to March is the timeframe.

I feel that new players should not be involved in CW

It can be a horrible experience for them

PUG is too broad a term I am a PUG but not exactly new

I am not complaining just saying the facts if you doubt what I am saying drop against the Clan 12 man a few times

Gee I wish we could get one more topic about this. There is surely more life in this horse and I bet you have some ideas that haven't been posted 100 times a week for the last month.

Who is saying PUG's shouldn't play CW? Just players in general? In game chat? Cite a thread?

Just because they will have voice comms will not make them a better group. Lets face it they are PUGS due to multiple reasons...

cant work together

no piloting skills

no people skills

I could imagine more **** talk over comms than actual team work.

PUG comms:

"lets go alpha gate"

"screw you bravo is better"

"that's what your mom said"

"why did you bring a locust/lrms"

The real coordination is in the drop decks. comms is secondary

Dear PUGS, Newbs, Boons and all of you guys that don't know what these words mean.

If you speak german please click the banner bellow this post, join us on TS, grab a beer (or tea or whiskey) and have fun dropping with us.
We offer training session and guided drops if you want them.

If you are not able to speak german, please follow this link to:
http://house-kurita.enjin.com/

Find a unit of your time zone and have fun dropping in CW for the dragon. And enjoy CW.

[Just one idea how to get pugs play better and make them enjoy CW, guys. Take it as a hint. ;) ]

I am ok with saying you need to get through those 25 rounds of cadet bonus before you can play CW

QFT - I'm afraid an in game Voip won't do a whole lot to improve the CW PuG experience many complain about.
Hopefully I'm wrong.

Comm's will be, hopefully, a filter for those of us who PUG CW and understand what "Team" actually means. By osmosis, these players Friends list will grow CW offshoot entries and when a Match is desired, invites can be sent out via that.

The loud/pottie mouth types will not get Friend invites, thus no Match invites, and soon they will become the CW version of "The Steering Wheel Underhive" of MWO. lol ;)

Totally true. Having coms or focing people to use them will do nothing to make CW mroe fun and will actually piss more people off. Some people just want to blow up mechs and play. Some are anti-social. Some are just tired of getting rolled by pre-mades with light rushes and drop farming. Being able to yell at each other in-game will not fix any of that. It's a shame as I used to like CW, and I PUG it, but when it was a roll fest as of the last 2 weeks, I do not play it at all anymore, not worth the hassle when I am getting killed 3 secs from being dropped. If CW is soo dependant on TS or commms, then it is destined to fail or just be for the elite premade folks that want to fight each other. And that version will alienate a lot of casual gamers.. Not much of a winning outcome in either case.. Sorry to be bleak, but it is what it is..

What you just described is NOOBs not PUGs. Pick Up Gamers wanna actually play the game. In my experience on the NA TS server I had none of the crap you listed.

PUGS in CW are filler. And teams are like a sausage.

If most of the sausage is filler, it's horrible compared to a real one.

I don't know anyone who says that PUGS shouldn't CW,

Now, the tragically solo who refuse to use any of the myriad VoIP options (integrated or not) and derp off to do their own thing.... that's another story.
