So I know that future Mechs have been brought up several times through out the forums. We all right now it would take a decade or two to get some Mechs seen in Mw4 like Madcatt/Timberwolf Mk.II and Fafnir and such. But the question I have is how could implement some of these with out having to wait decades! Have a time laps patch sometime? Prototypes maybe ?ideas guys or is it not going to happen end if story?

PGI will likely jump once they have used up this part of the timeline.

How long would you figure? I dont know the history to well to know when the next big date is after the Clan invasion. Would they update models of existing Mechs to shown like updates? Just like stuff like that? Would we get models of some Mechs like from MW4 example I can think of is the Raven is more round head in mw4. Stuff like that

Why would PGI jump, and cause more power creep, yes sure phat lootz, but they can just create new mechs which won't cause any more imbalance

because people want new mechs? They can make money off jumping ahead? They have no reason not to jump ahead.

One solution, if the player base grows enough, would be to run different iconic eras at the same time.

I for one would rather like to backwards in time and play exclusively with more primitive tech without the interference of XL engines, clan tech, DHS and so on.

And there are a lot of people who want certain Mechs they played in MW4 *cough Madcat Mk.II cough cough* power creep? If I recall can't existing Mechs get upgrades as the years go? Just my assumption. No need to buy a whole new mech just keep upgrades in its design and tech ect.

I'm not saying they don't I'm just saying why would they jump years ahead, and have to balance new weapons in the mix, when they can just go year by year and add none canon original builds, which they have already said they would do if they felt the need to

some of those mechs can only function with future tech? they would have to break some rules to allow some mechs to function at all.

New IS weapons don't become available until 3058.

They will jump with they run out of mechs which are viable to sell in packs. Hell the Inner Sphere has maybe one good 3050 4-pack left.

Curious though when they do decide to (if they do) Implement some, the Madcat MK.II what model they will go with the MW4 one or the other one seen more in drawings (with the missile pods more at a straight angle then tilted upward and the arms a little more stream lined)

PGI will certainly do timeline jumps, but they won't happen quickly. CW will have to be out of Beta for a year, perhaps, before PGI leaps the timeline forward. I suspect they'll do several such jumps, but at a relatively slow pace.

2nd Wave Invasion (updating the map with the extra Clan invasion corridors), Battle of Luthien, Battle of Tukkayid, Operation Bulldog, FedCom Civil War, etc.

Best idea. Get the many kinks out of CW, then run a map for each of several eras, complete with distinct factions and mech/loadout parameters. That would make many buy in on multiple accounts. Hope you're looking at this, PGI. It's a big winner concept.

New mechs/weapons would make this game a lot more interesting honestly. More variability to the gameplay.
