And then there was this game (below). I lasted almost to the end, working with the JR7-F(C) to catch isolated mechs. But I fell and he got the kill right afterward. Then I watched him/her and the VND-1AA battling the last two standing from the VND cockpit. A stripped STK-5M and a HR-B in fair shape was left. I sat dumbfounded as the VND focused on killing the the stripped STK, while it was trying to hug him/her, with a PPC (not ERPPC) and an SRM4.

SRM4 - miss (point blank range)
PPC - HIT (no damage because too close)
SRM4 - miss (again, point blank range)
PPC - miss (really??)
ETC, ETC, ETC

During the entire time, I could see from the VND cockpit the little JR bobbing and weaving around dodging the HBR lasers and SRMs. Finally I typed into chat "SHOOT THE MECH WITH WEAPONS!!!" After 2-3 seconds the VND responded and took a pot shot at the HBR, gaining it's attention and it focused on him/her. The JR was able to then kill the HBR, and shortly thereafter finish off the stripped STK. I wish I could show the name of the JR pilot because he/she deserves kudos.

Problem is, the JR pilot, most of Bravo, and I probably carried the VND pilot (and a few others from the screen shot) into a higher Elo level, when it was obvious that he/she didn't belong in the Elo level he/she was in for that match. Red team scores look a lot more even across all players, so I think that was the designated "winning" Elo team.

Few days ago i took part in the worst stomp i have seen since i'm playing MWO. Luckily i was on the winning team. It was in group queue, both teams consisted of several smaller premades (i was in a 3man). Sadly i didn't take a screenshot.

We curbstomped them 12:0 and only one(!!!!) enemy got above 100 damage. IIRC he had something like 192 That's right. 11 guys below 100 damage, in a match which had fair starting conditions (i.e. no 12 man stomping a patched-up team of small premades).

I haven't been playing much lately. I just can't seem to catch a break with my teams. Just WAY more crappy teams than good ones lately. hell, my K/D has dropped maybe 20% compared to what it was 2 months ago.

I want to play, but I don't want to throw a fist through my screen either.

My contribution. I have some screenshots from bad teams as well, but i though. I would post of myself instead of others. Maybe i will post later and blur names out. Been in plenty of losing streaks and bad matches myself. Everybody have these.

How the hell are you going to write an algorithm that "would not allow" that? If you have an idea you should patent it cause if it works it's worth millions.

If discrepancies and 12-2 rolls were a rarity with the matchmaker, then I'd agree with your point. The issue here is they aren't. They happen all the time. Far to often, actually. There are gross, glaring problems with the matchmaker that still have not be properly addressed.

I think they are a lot rarer than you think.

Start a log, save your EOM screen for each match, after a week or three go back through each match and see how many times the average match score is separated by more than 25 points. Unless you're fantastically (un)lucky or in a just plain freakish elo bracket I'm guessing that your log will look a lot like mine. 1 stomp in 10, usually caused by pugs scattering. 90% accuracy is actually pretty good for an ELO algorithm in a game with as many variables as MWO.

Just about every time i take my Pirate's Bane out, it takes a lot to not head-desk repeatedly when i see the summary screen and I'm doing 4x the damage of the typical DWs on my team. I have to wonder, just what level of elo hell is this??

I want to scream at them, "You've been massively outdone by a Locust. Let that sink in man. A LOCUST! "

This isn't a very constructive thread. Instead of blasting some team for how bad they did. Why not offer them assistance since you are such a bad azz player (apparently). The game gets better as the players get better. So help them out. Don't belittle them.

I often try, and with tact and politeness too, but often times people are set in their ways, refuse advice, or have no real reason to want to believe you over anyone else.

I can't help it if someone else on the team is screaming in chat calling me an idiot and saying stuff about how you have to stand back at Boreal base and use Assault LRM boats.

Not unless they ask for help! No chance I would waste time otherwise.

I stopped bothering to corral random baddie#1 2 &3 if I am in PUG queue. I enjoy solo a lot more this way just to be zen about the MM throwing in curves. Besides most of the time it'll be a waste of time imo, the only people who will listen are players whom recognise each other from past play anyway. ie they are decent at least and know whats up anyway. Meaning they aren't a scrub so the point would be moot. It's a bit of a catch22, and actual legit newbs get lost in with the noobs.

I love reading these threads and looking at the screen shots, trying to see if I was in the matches (only when the Units tags are shown of course). I have not seen one of my pathetic scores yet, but I have seen a few teammates though :-).
