wondered how long before we heard from the "i spent more so I deserve more" crowd. Way to show how the phrase wallet warrior came to be.

Personally, and as one who also spent more, its there anniversary gift. They can give it to who they want. Frankly, if they choose to give it to.... gasp ..... free players as well, I would have no problem with that.

Excuse me. Youseem to misunderstand. Its the principal. I was rewarded for my dedication to the game. Now my "reward" for being dedicated is given to anypne who wants it for 40 bucks. That IS insulting to me. I didnt say they shpuldnt get anything. But to claim you reqarded me and then just give it to everyone else too? Thats not a reward to me thats insulting. Perhaps you shpuld read the post with your critical thinking cap on. And while it wasnt the point of my post, yes, i DO believe i should get a better reward for 500 bucks than someone who only spent 40. If you dont think thats unfair, then you might be a communist.

Okay this upsets me. I bought every pack spending some 500 bucks and got my rewards. Now all someone has to do is spend 40 bucks and they get all three? I dont care that youre selling them for cbills but this is just a bit of a slap i the face in my opinion. Pgi thjs is highly uncool of you. One disenfranchised founder/overlord/masakari/manowar/collectors urbie owner.

What's funny I bought the top tier resistance pack a little late to receive the Atlas (L). So I emailed them to ask if I may still get it since it was only a couple of days late. I was told it wouldn't be fare to those people who made their purchases on time. Now they pull this. LOL Next time I wont buy anything early knowing I'll just get same extras later on.

This is one of the silliest things I've ever read. You're INSULTED that people got some free mechs? People who don't think that "giving people the same free mechs as someone who spent more ($500 lol) is not HORRIBLE" are communists?

What is this joke post?

I just... wow. How can so many people be so ungrateful about getting something for free? (Rhetorical question btw)

Not ungrateful, just confused. I don't need three duplicate hero 'mechs, and would've opted for another, lesser reward, or opted out entirely, rather than have duplicates I can't sell or gift cluttering my 'mech bays.

View PostWonderSparks, on 04 February 2015 - 02:21 PM, said:

Also, I believe I heard tell that, if you REALLY do not want it, you can contact support to have it permanently removed from your account, so there is always that option.

I'd rather not have PGI's 15th anniv. reward be the cause of a flood of tickets to support to address a very minor issue, which will backlog tickets addressing more serious problems and bugs.

This wasn't a well thought out reward, though well intentioned. As mentioned many times above, giving out the 'exclusive' (L) chassis - which we requested the Resistance Pack specifically to access - waters down the cool factor of those 'exclusive' rewards.

And I'm all for the CE Urbanmech pack, but it creates ill feeling for Clan players who dropped three times or more that cost, and now the Urbie buyers get all the same rewards.

Creating a new variant would've been great. Giving away a block of MC would've been great. I'd have been happy with a Phoenix & Founders Warhorn instead of duplicates. Or an Urbie statue if I have the Urbie pack. Or giving away the (C) 'mech of your choice. Or a free paint scheme. Or the PGI colors. Or any number of other things ...

I'm also just saying that maybe a better idea would be to give rewards for people who really supported and didn't just pay $40. Something like: All people who played $80+ get a few bonus mechs, maybe four, Twp clan, two IS. I'm not hating on the event, just about better rewards for the dedicated supporters.

No. Im insulted that pgi game me gifts for supporting them that were supposed to be exlusive to those who supported them. Then they turn around and give all of it to those who just now decide to throw down 40 bucks. Thats not what i did. So why are they getting the same thing as me? If you believe everyone should get the same thing regardless of contribution, that is in fact the definition of communism. Sorry to burst your bubble.

I would prefer that they not re-use the existing Norn variants. Those were special variants given out for specific reasons. Part of what makes them cool is the fact that not everyone has them, nor can anyone else get them. Except now they can.

I'll happily accept an extra copy of each Mech, but they just won't be as special any more. At least now I won't have to keep switching my KGC-000(L) back and forth between 2 x AC/20 and 4 x UAC/5. :)

This. See how rude that is to do to someone? Its like treating the guy who signed up yesterday the same lifetime service award you gave to someone who had been doinflg it for 10 years. Thats messed up.

Some people here still don't get it that it's not about the money or that the mechs are free.

Imagine if you served a company for 60 years and when you retire, the company gives you a free gold watch or something for the years you dedicated to the company. there's even a big ceremony and such when it's presented to you. then as you leave the company, you realise they are dishing out the watches out free to new hires. how would you feel?

I'm not one of them, but there are people here who has been supporting this game from day 1 and has every pack from Founder's all the way up to Resistance. They are the ones who have been keeping this F2P game going.

So right after PGI shows "appreciation" to these people, they turn around and say "hey, you new guys, just give me $40 and I'll give you the same stuff we used to reward these years long customers of our's"
If that's not an insult, I don't know what it is.

So, spending forty bucks isn't supporting them? It isn't giving towards keeping the game going?

So, whats the standard that I have to spend to "earn" this reward? How much? Set the bar for us, would you please. I want to know how much I have to spend to "earn" the right to be a supporter of this game.

I bought the founders pack. I bought the phoenix pack. I didn't buy the resistance pack. I didn't buy any of the clan packs. Am I less worthy than you?

Forty bucks IS supporting the game. A good friend of mine just started. The urban mech pack was the first one he bought. It's good to know though, that in your opinion he is an underachiever and unworthy of the anniversary gifts being awarded.

Now the question is... what am I do to with two copies of each mech?
(If that is how it works.)

Drop twice in CW with clones of your choice of Atlas, King Crab or Centurion.

"Didn't we just kill that?"

Ah... I thought there was a glitch for a bit there as all of a sudden I had two of each of my L mechs. Having bought Overlord the first time and now Urbie and Resistance having these extra mechs is interesting, but at the same time annoying since they're just taking up space (all be it free).

I'm just going to say thank you and leave it at that then.

I guess i am really bad at simple math...

People are complaining that they paid larger amounts of money and got three mechs. Now, if you pay just 40$, you can get those same 3 mechs

I think the difference is that those of you (like myself) that got the 3 mechs originally, now get 6 mechs, while the 40$ Urbie crew get 3... (6>3 , at least it was in my day)

I guess the real issue is that they are the same 3 mechs, so some will end up with 3 sets of duplicate mechs, not that some get 3 and some get 6.

I personally have no problem having duplicate mechs. I actually have some CBill mechs that I have dupes of to save on load outs / config changes, but that is me.

I guess it would have been different if you got something other than the original rewards mechs in this 'giveaway' .
The problem is that is is a giveaway... you know, a thank you for supporting us, so here we GIVE you this...

You continue to miss the point, whether purposefully or due to a lack of comprehension. You should have to buy what i got to get what i got. You have one max pack? Good you get the crab. You met the other requirements. Good you get those rewards. Youre 40 bucks is NOT 3qual to what i spent. Therefore you shouldnt get what i got. Imagine this. Youve been working for a company for 3 years. Youve gone above and beyond what anyone has a right to exp3ct from you. So your boss, he says hes giving you a 10k. Onus for your awesome work and dedication. Late nights, weekends. Travel. Now imagine jimmy. He just started at the same job a month ago. He does an adaquate job, but goes ho.e at 5 no weekends no extra work. Your boss give hk. The SAME reward you got, 10 k for excellent work and putting in extra hours and going above and beyond. Except he didnt. Now wouldnt you say thats unfair to you?

This whole "loyalty reward" complaint is silly.

They called them "loyalty reward" mechs because calling them "paying our salaries" mechs wouldn't have had much feelgood factor -- but you've got to have realised that loyalty has little to do with receiving them.

I've been playing about six months, but I happen to have bought the clan packs and resistance, so I have all three of the (L) mechs. That's not "loyalty", and it's nothing to do with being a founder or any of that stuff. I started playing a game I liked, and had some disposable cash to spend. When I knew about the bonus mechs, sure, that factored into my purchase. But more on the level of "so it's actually 12+3+3 mechs in the clan pack 2 -- that makes it better value".

Much earlier in the thread, Jody von Jedi made a good suggestion though: add a UI toggle to the Mechlab to hide/reveal any mechs in "invalid" state. If you don't like/use those mechs, strip em, enable the toggle, and never look at them again. More importantly for me personally, it would allow me to hide all of the mechs I've stripped for various reasons (don't like that variant; haven't levelled yet) and save a bit of scrolling time.

Thank you PGI for making this available again to everyone who did not have the opportunity to receive one before.

However, the rest of us aren't particularly motivated to partake in this a second time. There isn't really a reason to own doubles of these Mechs.

So...Thanks, but no thanks. :)

If you already have the base-level Urbie purchase, upgrading is probably the most efficient Cash-to-C-bill transaction you can make. It'd be much more awesome if we could sell the whole extra mechs... I'd definitely do it then, I'm only a maybe on it now.

Look at it the other way. You spent what he spent so you got what he got. You spent more? Grats, but sometimes extra money spent or work put in does NOT equal more resources received. Especially as a "bonus" item.

I think the main problem is that they also used it kinda as an additional advertising and exactly at this point it sucks to a certain extend.
They announce a special limited gift for owning some packs while they are still purchasable... and suddenly they give out the same gifts for other new packs which are a lot cheaper. Could have been solved better...
