Last I checked Karuta's Capital has been completely over run by Jags? I'm just a merc so I don't play for any real team/group. (Currently allied with Davion at the moment) Honestly I've seen Davion unit being attacked by Bears and Jags. I think that all the houses need to focus on smashing the bears and the Jags along the Karutan border. But like I said. I'm just a merc. so I just go where the money is.

The problem with loyalty points is you can be 'loyal' to every faction. They are just another kind of achievement, only with better rewards.

And that is part of what's wrong. LPs should be set in 2 columns. Current level and spendable points. Current level shows how popular you are with a faction, spendable points, which can never exceed the current level can be used to buy extra goodies. If you change sides you earn negative points from factions you fight against based on your performance and unit/faction success in battle. If you switch back, you have to dig yourself out of the hole first before gaining points again to spend on goodies from that faction.
The red baron could not switch sides and trusted in the faction he left.

To -MS-:

Ok, what i learn from all i read here is that -MS- in fact ruins the very small amount of fun that was left for other players in the roleplaying part of the game by purposely countering their efforts to establish alliances with other houses.

This is so low that i can´t even find the right words for it.
You want to be the new bad guys around? So be it!
Worked well for LORDS too, didn´t it?

Is that what you want to be reknown for? Purposely killing other players fun and damaging CW and therefore MWO even more?

You know that the mechanics of the game will change and people will remember what you´ve done, dont you?
You know that people will also remember it right now when dropping against or alongside with you?
I will and others im dropping with will. Be sure of that.

That is the only thing MS has been fighting against all along - the roleplayers. In this regard I think they are 100% succesfull.
On the other hand I don't think they had to put a lot of effort in it, most RP units have a tendency to implode for drama reasons.

When there is that much awesome in a single post I only need to make one every other year. The guys in here talking about MS ruining their fun... or MS being a bunch of players like LORDs. Come on... You guys are setting yourselves up to have a bad time. The system of the game does not cater to what you want it to cater to. Your response is to impose your version of how you think it should be and then get mad at people who don't give a **** about what you think. I think the game is great as it is. I am happy that this minority community of people who actually care what the self proclaimed dork lords of each faction say are limited to forum spam for the most part. You cannot have diplomacy across an entire faction. Only individual units which is exactly what MS has done and why what they do works and what you do doesn't. By the way I'm not in MS but I have played with them and they really are a bunch of nice guys just playing a game they love like the rest of us. Comparing them to Lords is like comparing Mr. Rodgers to Ozzy Osbourne. except I think Ozzy is probably a nicer guy then some of those worthless Lords D-bags.

wow and I used T u r d not **** lol

I wouldn't compare -MS- to LORDs, besides most of the LORDs were not all that bad of guys once you got to know them and ignore the serious GGClose ones. -MS- is simply gaming the system to their advantage, the root of the issue is this is BETA and many are taking it very serious while others not as much. Plus the CW Population is very low .... so a few MERC super units have a very strong effect in a very short amount of time in the game. -MS- itself is likely larger than most Loyalist populations whom are active in CW for any given House or Clan. (organized). What I wonder is why all the baby MERC units so easily and willingly gave up their traditional identity to -MS- so easily? I was a big surprised to see some of those units simply become a ZERG unit (albeit with well above average skill).

The problem is that you can't (and shouldn't) tell other players how to play the game. It's a game to be enjoyed. MS isn't a problem there, as they are playing the game in a way they enjoy.

However

I also see what the loyalist units are trying to do, which also makes sense. They are trying to give their faction direction, and a lot of players like having direction to their actions. They also try to set up aggression and alliances to better the game play for their faction.

One example: Marik and Liao have a cease fire. Each side respects it. This is not to hinder game play, but is instead to help Liao fight Davion, as they seem to have a low population. This prevents Liao from being rolled to their Capital and effectively being killed off. This permits Marik to also shift players from attacking Liao to some other front, such as Davion (whom at the time had a very large population), thus placing more pressure on Davion creating better fights overall.

Each side is correct in their way of playing it. I do agree with the loyalist units that controlling the engagement zones can increase not just the feel of the game but also give units direction and focus. We can't tell MS how to play, but I do believe that units such as MS should at least consider the goals of the faction they join and be respectful of them.

This is a tough one to make any judgements, and if MS really is just joining into a faction to purposefully break their alliances, then that I would say is wrong. If they are just joining into a faction to attack whomever they feel like (not caring if there are alliances/not intending to break an alliance because they don't know/care about it), then I see no problems. As we can't gauge the units intents behind their attacks.

Until PGI decides to change something as an interaction tool between loyalist units/players and mercs/non-loyalist contracts, there is nothing we can do but ask that they preform certain actions. If they don't adhere to the request, then we must leave them be as there is nothing we can do about it and we can't go telling everyone else how to play their game either.

Also, do recall that CW is in Beta still. The map will most likely be rest (my guess) once they have the system more cemented down, especially if we still have wormholes all over the place...

Make it so that merc units can't have tags on planets when/if they are actually worth something and that only Loyalist units can have tags.

^^^^^ Not a bad idea

Allow Mercs to have tags on a planet for so long as they stay with that faction. As soon as they leave, their tags leave with them. Maybe their tags just get relegated to the attack log on each planet

Might be a little harsh and im sure not a popular idea...
