yeah, that's exactly what you think it is with a few minor tweaks. This is taken from Marvel's "Fear Itself" comic event. The 'mech' is part of the forces of Sin, the daughter of the Red Skull (super soldier ****)

we can clearly see this is a rip-off.
=The gun barrel on the left arm is exactly the same as the whammy
=the arrangement of barrels in the left and right torsos
=the arrangement, size, and shape of missile and sensor pods
=the lineart for the legs is clearly a whammy or rifleman

in fact, the only mod to the whammy design we can see; is some sort of stupid 'double cockpit' system on the top of the center torso above the actual whammy cockpit.

Am I the only one who picked up on this?

Nominally, if you can display that you've changed artwork, or written work, or whatever is held by license from another company, by a certain percentage, you can use the adjusted image at your leisure. The problem is with this pic, anyone who knows what they're looking at will catch this right away, and that remains a copyright/licensing violation.

lolol the only thing different is the head they tacked on and the right arm. doesn't even look like 25 percent of a difference.

Well, if you look, your Quickdraw head is actually drawn on top of the original Warhammer head... look at the glass just above the 'Mechs chest/glacis.

okay first thing was the swastika for myself as well, also definately a whammy with an arm and head of quickdraw, thirdly Marvel is making tons of money off of its comics, games, movies, and is not half broke as fasa generally was so harmony gold would get pounded by legal stuff.

Lesson here, spend enough money on MWO and we too can get the good toys back, j/k

Maybe our dear, dear friends at HG don't know about it. I think someone should tell them so they can protect their copyright.

Of course, the American courts will just repeat what the Tokyo District Court already said about Tatsunoku (and from there, HG) only have story rights to the original Macross and Studio Nue has the actual image rights...

As angry as it can make us, that does comprise a significant enough redesign that it doesn't really infringe on the Destroid.

Yes, adding an arm and a head is enough.

I think its very clear though that marvel has some battletech and/or macross fans though.

Ooooo... You see what they did right? They infringed on the copyrights of both HG and Battletech. Quickdraw arm and head with Warhammer the rest of it. So now Battletech and HG have to join forces against Marvel. It's genius and evil at the same time.
