The AC20 quirks sucked anyway, compared to what YLW and the HBK-4G got. It's better to just send the Arrow in a completely different direction.

Plus you can just mount the AC20 on the BJ-1 and do the exact same thing

Those quirks on AS are so lame, I am struggling to understand why you even put them on...
Really?!

That is just... nothing.

And LOL at that Gauss quirk on AS-K, LOLLOLOL

Embarrassing...

As long as they didn't touch my wang, and they give the shadowhawks some help. I am good.

Arrow quirks plain suck. From a mech that could brawl to a nothing mech, lol @ MG quirck.

The quirks are mainly for the LPLs, but do assist the MGs. I run a 2xLPL, 6xMG build and absolutely wreck with it. The AC20 build was clearly inferior to the same build that could be ran on the BJ-1, which had much better yaw range and speed.

The Arrow was stupidly quirked, and is now back to where it should be.

Russ has said they did that to buff it,
LL / ER-LL / LPL now dont gen GH, until you fire 4 or more,
with the new Quriks for +0.20 beam time you get +60 range, at 6 less tons(assuming you have 3),
so its actually not much of a nerf, and you could equip more SHS/DHS, or a larger engine,
is this actually that much of a nerf? will it actually break and make the 6K un-playable?

PGi giveth...they take away....

I didn't want PPC quirks on the 1G BLR....ugh. the BLR is a brawler PGI. Not a sniper.

At least you can do this now: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...207486898fbf554
Which isn't great but at the same time isn't too bad. You just have to be careful with your shot placement and not waste ammo by spamming. I think the Jager just killed the Ilya though. Being able to more safely mount an XL and having those high weapons just makes it so much more effective.

Should be easy with an XL.

EDIT: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...dcbd7f0cbbd0e37

Jager wins with high mounts for sure, but has 5 tons less to play with, but the Jager safer than a phract with an XL? Hell no! Both are easy prey with XL's if your not careful. Need to play lots of peek-a-boo and torso-twisting.

As for that 3 AC5/ 2 LL build... ugh, not enough ammo and runs too hot for my liking... Might have to go with smaller lasers after all...

All yee who wish for the LPL wubbing to continue, look no further than the TDR 9SE. Mounting 4 LPL's, an xl 280, jj's for rocks, and good heat efficiency. You shall not want of the wub any more. Yee shall be satisfied =P

I'm curious to see what kind of effect the 10% + 10% Laser/LPL duration reduction will have on a 2xLPL Arrow.

Here are a few stats I ran, if you have both the LPL Range and Cooldown modules, and the mech is elited out. (extra 5% cooldown)

.536 - Large Pulse Laser Duration
168/336 - MG range
447/894 - LPL range
6.125 - LPL Heat generated
2.7s - LPL Cooldown

The MG range will help a lot, and the boost for energy/LPL will move the Arrow closer to the performance we see on the BJ-1X with it's LPLs. The big change is the duration reduction down to .536s... That's only slightly longer than an IS SPL, the shortest duration laser in the game. We all know how deadly those can be, but at 447m, that's very difficult to spread. It's basically an extended range AC20 with no ammo, and fairly heat efficient, especially with the 12.5% heat reduction.

I envision these quirks will make the Arrow a much more interesting mech... They suite the way I run it very well.

You could almost just run triple LPL's in it O.o
As much as I love machine guns, I will try this out for sure!

Looks like you can run triple LPL's with a standard 200, or an XL225 + 2 JJ's

If you're going to do that, you might as well go big. Strip most of the armor off the arms (nothing in them anyway) and keep FF/Endo, and you should be able to go XL235+3DHS and 2 JJ. Now that Paul is removing ghost heat from the 3rd LPL/LL/ERLL, (on trial now, but will probably become permanent) it will actually be a fairly decent build... I may have to try this.

Just a question about the values. If a mech has those 2 quirks:
AC/5 Velocity +10%
Ballistic Weapon Velocity +10%

Do they add up? E.g. would I get an AC/5 velocity of 20%?

Ya and I bought two 6K's for CW.. waste of money now. I don't see how it was an OP mech when if you lopped it's right arm off, the mech became USELESS. Most people now know this weakness so they target right arm. You had to use skill in positioning and torso twisting to keep that arm safe. I always thought that was a fair trade off.. guess too many cry babies out there.

Tried it. Rubbish.

Its basically a bigger, fatter, slower WVR with none of the WVR's ability to hit-and-run and lacking any serious punch that makes trying to stick around in a fight at LPL ranges worthwhile.

And its just not as much fun to play as a WVR.

No point in any IS mech. Clans do it better in every way, and as soon as fast clan lights come out the Firestarter and Jenner will also be vendored crap.

I also think that the difference will be extremely visible in the light mechs. A clan light mech can pack a significant punch thanks to the lower weight of weapons and components. PGI should have tried asymetrical balancing with player numbers. I doubt quirks will help much.
