Good luck with that.

No complaints about the 9S changes.

ER PPC Heat Generation quirk reduced by half.
ER PPC Velocity quirk doubled.

Perfectly fine with that, it's quite in line with what the quirks should have been in the first place.
I'm not "TDR pilot" (I pilot everything) but I'm actually really happy with the change as well. I preferred running 2 ERPPC and 3 ML's with a larger engine anyways, and the increased velocity on the ERPPC20 will be extremely helpful.

Quote

What I'm actually upset about is the changes to the Wuborine and Trebuchets and Locusts. Especially because both the TBT 3C and 7M had the same LRM15 quirks. I sold the 3C just last week and kept the 7M for whenever I need an LRM boat. Now they removed the quirks from the 7M and gave them to the mech I just sold, which is also the most expensive variant of the chassis. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
I swear, there's dark sorcery involved here. It's like magic, if I actually sell a mech (something I do very, very rarely) it'll get buffed all to hell immediately afterwards.

From Quirks Sneak Peak:
TDR-9S
Specialty
Additional Structure (LT&RT) +15
ER-PPC Heat Gen -12.5%
Energy Weapon Heat Gen -12.5%
ER-PPC Cooldown +12.5%
Energy Weapon Cooldown +12.5%
ER-PPC Velocity +30%
Laser Duration -15%
Missile Weapon Cooldown +15%

vs the current:
ADDITIONAL STRUCTURE (LT): 15.00
ADDITIONAL STRUCTURE (RT): 15.00
ER PPC HEAT GENERATION: -25.00 %
ENERGY HEAT GENERATION: -25.00 %
ER PPC COOLDOWN: 12.50 %
ENERGY COOLDOWN: 12.50 %
ER PPC VELOCITY: 15.00 %
LASER DURATION: -15.00 %

Well, there goes half your cooling.... bye bye spam!

But nice consolation of increasing the velocity.

Shame they can't just fix the PPC velocity to start with, and thus not need uber stupid level quirks to make them "viable".

Still kiddies, might want to vent your rage this weekend, because tuesday come, y'all are gonna need a new toy!

LOL.

OH LOOK IT GOT BALANCED... Now the Awesome will actually be useful again. -_-

Actually...where was this preview at? I'd love to take a look at any others in it and see what to expect.

Cause these are the same people who introduced Artillery/Air Strikes with 10 damage per shell, then increased its damage by WTFBBQ 400% without any in depth testing.

Considering the disparate velocities, projectile drop, and firing mechanic, if you let something get close enough to you to get a pinpoint alpha with those 2 weapons, you deserve to die.

Actually, just lower the heat cap would be good. We have plenty of dissipation.

Why hasnt the AWS gotten any quirks? It was the other iS mech I woulda wanted todrive until I read how much it sucked.

AWS, ZEU, DRG, CNT, the 4 IS mechs I wanted to drive way back when I first heard about this game in 09 haha.

True, I was thinking to just get true dubs outside the engine for sure

and I'd like to see the Mech Tree Efficiencies get redone ASAP also.

There was nothing wrong with it in the first place. What was wrong is what has always been wrong with this game, cry babies. They have ruined and sucked the fun out of everything that was worth while in this game. They won't be happy until every mech and weapon is exactly the same but with a different skin.
Collisions? gone. Repair and rearm? gone. boating weapons? ghost heat, gone. multiple mechs and weapons nerfed into uselessness, GR, streaks, ppcs etc. JJ's? nerfed into uslessness. Poptarting? nope, gone. Highlanders, worthless, gone. Mechwarrior 4 is a better game.

Don't forget that MW4 was also full of balancing crimes. Vengeance was of course the worst, with absolutely no intention of balancing IS mechs and weapons to clan ones. We all remember the hillhumper 7 ERLL Novacat. BK for its part brought us the Pulseboat Sunder, and Mercenaries, Micro$ux's last attempt to balance the game, created the poptart superstar Gladbag. Even Mektek in all its glory was not infallible, giving birth to the notorious 3 ERLL sky-lord Ares and later the even more notorious Turbogoyle.

It took years of hard work by devs and playtesting by the community (unrestricted by MWO's F2P style I might add), and more than a little temporary ragequitting by both parties in that time period, to make MW4 into the relatively balanced game its final iteration was.

The TDR-9S is this game's Turbogoyle (or at least one of them): It debuted underpowered, consequently got overpumped to a silly extreme, and now has been toned down to a more reasonable level. My one plea to PGI is to not consider the problem necessarily fixed now, but to keep analyzing to see if the nerfing was too much (unlikely), not enough (more likely), or just right (hopefully!).

It's not like they can really nerf those mechs much. They basically get no quirks as is, or if they do they're negative ones. Honestly the only one that is actually an issue is the Stormcrow because of borked hitboxes, but that's not solved through anything but remapping the hitboxes on that mech. The weaponry they mount is the weaponry they should be capable of mounting.

Wow have you been butt hurt about this topic. You got your nerfs congrats, but I don't see the need to act like a child over it. That being said they basically are changing the quirks to what they were the first time when people were still saying the mech sucked hence it getting bumped to the somewhat over the top place it is now during that second wave of adjustments. Perhaps the velocity bonus will be enough to have more than a few people consider using it, but that seems unlikely given the past and the heat levels still making regular PPCs more enticing with these coming changes. Personally I would have gone with 35% maybe 40% total heat reduction as that would have the ERPPC still hotter than the regular PPC but close enough to make a good choice going with either.
