One could argue that "Cult of Personality" was the foundation of ALL current and historic governance structures.

(i.e. George Washington, Lenin/Stalin, the "Continental System" and Napoleon, etc.)

One could argue that but then one would open oneself up to ridicule from everyone who has any understanding of government, history, or philosophy so one probably shouldn't.

You could argue, I would disagree. While the US had powerful figures during the Revolutionary War, it wasn't 1 person who the people followed and did whatever that person said no matter what...(snip)...

It is a well known fact that Senior Officers in the Revolutionary Army favored Military Rule rather than Civilian Rule of the fledging United States of America. This went so far as a plan to crown Washington "King" of America, in a manner vey similar to our mother country, England.

But then search it for yourself... those times were not the clean and simple Governance process you describe.

So you would deny the Cult of Personality that so obviously came to surround Washington, Lenin, Stalin and Napoleon?

You would find that very difficult to argue effectively.

Prussian Havoc it's not really surprising that you're as bad as you are at this fake videogame statecraft thing you try to pull off on the forums if you're stuck at the level of trying to use the idea of a cult of personality as a buzzword to handwave a lot of incredibly complex political situations involving some of the most brilliant military and state leaders of the last few hundred years. Cult of personality explains basically not even the barest most insignificant scratch on the surface of why men like Washington or Stalin or Napoleon or whoever were able to achieve what they did. It's practically irrelevant, in the grand scheme of things.

With what, some cold hard facts about how you're incredibly ignorant about a subject you're trying to appear extremely knowledgeable about?

Woah oh man it's almost like this could apply to almost any post you've ever made on the mwo forums.
You write giant walls of text about nothing at all in the hopes that nobody will actually read them and so nobody will call you out on the dumb stuff you post. Kind of like MischiefSC, but he actually says good stuff off and on.

Dang I think i've sort of complimented mischief twice in the last half hour or so, I feel a little sick, ha ha ha

Also I didn't realize we had a brand, we all post in our own unique way, and it's all really cool and good.

I would say that a) you obvious don't know what cult of personality means and should probably look it up, and B ) you said that cult of personality was the foundation of all government structures but that's a laughably stupid statement deserving of nothing but ridicule. Washington, Lenin, Stalin, and Napoleon didn't found every government. Stalin didn't found ANY government. There are many historical and modern systems designed specifically to nip the whole 'cult of personality' thing in the bud, but even if there were just one counterexample you'd still be wrong and dumb. That's what happens when you make sweeping statements and then say b-b-but napoleon!!!

It is known that you and NKVA are relentless Trolls... always looking to derail threads and never offering anything constructive.

You do House Kurita no honor by performing such low-brow forum behavior here in a Marik thread.

You simply prove once that while NKVA has skills in game, NKVA does not possess the means to truly debate in the forums.

Wait, you make some silly claims, they refute you.... and then you get all smug and claim they are trolling?

That's... funny.

Personally, have nothing held against you. However, you make silly claim and then double down.

Pick bad argument and stick to guns, well, this happen.

Washington was elected first president because he was in all likelihood the best leader amongst them.

Stalin and Napoleon essentially fostered a cult of personality (and Stalin propped Lenin up as well) in an attempt to solidify their power, not to create a government system.

The Westminster system of parliament isn't based on a cult of personality, its the culmination of centuries of English lords picking away at the power of the king. It works pretty well for the most part.

Your disregarding of what Liesmith said as "trolling" is pretty telling that you are not willing to engage in a discussion of what you are saying. If you are gonna say stuff like this, then be prepared for people to pull it apart and challenge what you are saying.

Yielding to pressure from delegates from across the Inner Sphere, ComStar has allowed construction of a new capital mall to begin on Terra. The North American city of San Diego was selected to be the site of this new capital, the delegates having deliberately chosen to construct a new capital instead of reoccupying the old Star League capital in Unity City, to further signify the new direction of the new Star League, and a divergence from the mistakes of the old League.

Ground was broken three days ago in a modest ceremony, with more emphasis on rapid construction than pomp and circumstance. The new Star League Mall currently consists of embassy buildings arrayed in a courtyard around Unity Hall, the new grand council chambers. A number of out buildings and additional construction are planned, as well, though ground outside of the grand courtyard has not yet been broken. There is also considerable debate on whether or not to include an embassy for the Clans.

Delegates and ambassadors from across the Inner Sphere are being invited to this new capital to begin conducting the business of the new Star League in earnest. Construction is still on-going, and much of the mall is still incomplete, but several residences and administrative spaces have already been constructed, and today the new capital of the Star League has been declared open for business!

Goofy fan fic... that doesn't match the lore. Sort of like writing some fan fic where the Kurita Noble lines are actually Dragons, and sometimes attack Davion Mechs in their dragon form while breathing fire.

I guess it's better than the Clan guy who claims as part of his character fan-fic that he's over 250 years old. Also better than the Shipper Fan-Fic that tried to hook up Victor Steiner-Davion with one of Theordore Kurita's kids.... Hohiro.

A notice being issued on behalf of the Free Rasalhague Republic,

We would like to remind ambassadors and representatives of the Inner Sphere's successor states that the third Star League meeting is locked in for 7PM EST on the 07/03/15. The meeting will proceed from within the FRR Hub as planned. Please ensure you are wearing your appropriate unit tags when arriving at the landing pad so that we may easily identify you.

We hope to see you there.
