I have been firing them on 3 different fire groups and alpha shots when I manage to sneak behind someone or when I see weak sections of a mech.
But yeah I am that kind of player that runs around at 150kph with 2 Large Lasers on a founders jenner and things like ac20 ravens and erppc locusts and mist lynx builds

Nice! I've been running something very similar but with a smaller engine in order to accommodate more DHS.and a few JJ's for positioning. I've done a few 700 damage games with the 3 LL build because you don't tend to be a priority target in a Panther. If you can be sneaky and get some long range damage in, peeking out of cover you can really do work.
I haven't got the PNT-8Z on doubled basics yet but I think it could be a beast.
The only danger with the slower engine is getting caught by faster lights. I've been gunned down by a few Firestarters without being able to put up much of a fight.

PNT-9R
Panther 9R with 2 LPL and an XL 245. Add in a level 5 LPL range module and you can blap your enemies out to 912M. (ER)PPCs just don't feel right on this mech, whereas LLas and LPLs do. Try it out and see if you like it.

After I get more familiar with it, I might drop the AMS and Artemis for more speed. Not sure, might even give a dual PPC a try, but doubt that. Probably might try some lasers.

Oh you must haven't played the 10K with ERPPC 2SRM4, XL250, or the 9R with 4 MLs/SRM6. These things are beasts! I did think they are average mechs at first, but on my way getting all the skills, these mechs really won me some games--I'd doubt if I can win them if I was in a Firestarter. So sad that factory map is removed for fix, Panthers will be overpowered on the factory map
Speed aside, 9R comparing to Ember is like trading 4MGs for a SRM6, which is a trade I'd happily make (considering all the quirks you get!). Or you can say it's a better Spider-A trading 2 MGs for 2 MLs (which is also a good trade).
10K has a mid-long range poking ability so you won't be bored during the first a few minutes in a game. 2SRM4s never let me down when it comes to late game and I have to take down some assults. The problem Ember has is that you'll have to come close before you can do anything, while as a Panther 10K you can just chill back and make your enemy smash their heads into walls with your ERPPC shots.
Now the speed is slow and I do think XL250 is a must. Well 120+kph isn't the end of world, in fact I think nowadays players are deploying more and more slower-than-150 builds, and they are doing fine. Panthers still have enough agility (thanks to quirks and JJs) to get out of sticky situations. Just don't the the "scouting" thing--it's not even safe for 150kph lights nowadays.

I LOVE my Panther 10K. Almost as much as my Ember.
The arm is okay you get some quirks making it tougher. Well yeah you can lose it but first it's rare, second you have SRMs as back up so it's not that bad.

XL250 is pretty much a must. You can get one from your Enforcer if you also have those. Else well guess you have to buy one. XL250 pushes you to 120+kph with some JJs you'll won't feel slow at all.
About NARC, yeah I got no-LRM team once as well, I was like really? Am I dreaming?. If you don't want to rely on your team (and map) you can just pack SRMs, they work great too. Or, you can try a jumping NARC setup with a lot of JJs, just be prepared as so many people will come after you

That was an awesome match. I got my last 4 kills by sneaking around and finishing their mechs while it was something like 8-10 then 9-11 and I had a cherry red CT. Unfortunately the last of their mechs dc'd and time run out.

But I have been doing well making all my variants something like XL250 + 4JJ's and 6-8 SRM's with 2-3 MPL's. I call it the drive by brawler :-P Works really well with plenty of cover. If there is no cover I typically die early. I have no patience in lights...

Wow. What is the build? Drop Ferro and go with more DHS? Did you even run jump jets?

3 MPLs
2 SRM4s
Just beastly.

-> PNT-10K <-
I dropped the jump jets on my Panthers because they're kinda weak on the Panthers. I don't know what's wrong with them but it doesn't feel like jumping with other mechs so I removed them for bigger weapons or more DHS.

The heat can be controlled, you have the ability to snipe pretty well and be an overall good DD in the matches.
I run this in some CW defenses too and pull good numbers on it..

I played 76 matches like that, taking screen shots of every result.
I am not a good light pilot. I'd say I'm not a good MWO player. But something about this mech, and this setup, really just worked for me.
I will say that I found the matches getting more and more difficult as I neared 100. Cannot quantitatively say if that was random or me getting better opponents as I won more and more in the 9R.
Now to show how average I was in this:
PANTHER PNT-9R 100 62 34 1.82 107 46 2.33 36,150 247,293 12:11:09
