Have you tried to install Steam and have Steam install it? What I am seeing from Masta Ali's post is that the window components are not being allowed to install, possibly due to permission issues.

The above link may be of some help as you are running Win7. The installation can become corrupt, causing uninstall and installing issues. Interesting, this now works with Windows 10. It used to only work with Win7/8/8.1.

And for clarification, you are not able to get MWO installed? This thread is about installation/patcher issues.

Alas I found a solution to my problem!
After a full windows reset (apps and all) all components installed without fuss and the game is working perfectly fine
In addition I no longer experience crashes anymore, speculation leads me to believe that this game prefers a 64 bit environment
If you are running windows 10, I would recommend upgrading to 64 bit as an option to relieve a lot of issues
Best of luck to all

@Tarl Cabot allredy properly uninstalled+installed didn't help with the crashing on loading screen other forum sections,e mail to support sended crash reports etc yiedl NO return so trying my luck here as arround 8-10% of the player base has crashing issues since the patch but we seems to be ignored by PGI

On attempting to log in with the stand-alone client, the game reports that there's a patch available and that I should run the patcher.

I've never needed to run an independent patcher before and I can't find one in PGI's program folder. Other than download the entire game what other options do I have?

Edit: So, there is a patcher - using it presents an error message that it can't be run separately, that I should run the client.

'Downloading Install Base'

This usually occurs when our server provider has not updated the particular server node your patcher is accessing. For now I recommend closing down your patcher when this process begins.
Then, flush your DNS, and attempt the patch process again.

Flushing your DNS:
  • Press Windows key + R to open the Run window.
  • Type cmd and hit Enter.
  • In the command prompt window, type:
  • ipconfig /flushdns and hit Enter.
Right, because this is somebody else mistake, not the ones setting up the DNS IP register and taking care of that IP and serving that IP by making a correctly coded patcher, no, that's the players fault, even when they have done nothing to change the patch process, the players are the ones to blame, yeah, it must be their DNS Cache and their [Redacted] fault, so [Redacted]!

BTW this is a 5 day old Win7 64-bit, so it's not my DNS Cache it's your fakery over there that causes this [Redacted], get it? stop blaming users for your mistakes and grow a pair and admit is your fault and promise that you will fix it and fix it! That's being an adult.

https://mwomercs.com...ntegrated-gpus/ this will reset your video settings to minimum.
Make sure the Anti-Alias is off on MWO, if this fails after a clean install, try to set your GPU driver to minimum settings, then upgrade them gradually and see what works and what doesn't in MWO and your games/apps.

Check security software, while playing disable it except the Firewall.

Trying to patch through steam every time the patch gets to 26mb it just stops. If you press pause it restarts the patch from 0 again!!!. i have other games that need patching and they are going fine!!

Gotta say, this was a bad patch. Error upon error. Finally had to uninstall, reinstall and run the patcher. Why can't you guys try and test the patch before you commit the game to it? Have some players volunteer to do a test patch a day or so BEFORE the game is committed.

P.S. Also, why is premium time set up to run even when I am NOT on the game? Is not fair to charge us, and expect us to be on 20/24 hours. Premium time must be changed to run while in game. There is this thing called REAL LIFE that happens.

Bad sport, real bad.

I had to disable my firewall, antivirus, anti-trojan/malware, real time scanning and it STILL messed up the game. I had to disable every protection and uninstall, reinstall and patch to get this to work.

I don't think that PGI is using real programmers to do these patches. I fear they have outsourced this to the lowest bidder that just does not care.
