I have had 2 cw matches where the voip was used extensively and to great effect (And i only played 3).
And btw, it's 2015. An online game needs voip built in if it's to be taken seriously. It is such a small thing, and if THAT trips up the dev you know they have problems.

Ow well VOIP was pointless in all the battles I played I guess I shout just start yelling at everyone one like the kid did to get attention just like the OP wants just some attention and some perspective on why in the hell he and I are still playing MW:0

Maybe wait a little while before declaring a feature like VOIP a waste.

Oddly enough, my games where it was were wins. Fancy that.
(The quality is a bit muffled, though. TS has me spoiled apparently.)

"We need help here!" Where is here? Who are you? ....God?
Then some of the voices try to take charge and provide, but it is generally useless with the factors above and go chunk of the team either not listening or have VOIP on mute.
At least there is no trolling downer voice yet. >.>
Also, like many I am sure, I do not have a mic. And hate my voice on mics/phone. So ya. Rather have a transcriber or voice distorter.

Yeah some of us over here did pay attention in history. We all know Martin Luther was the pope that had Galileo killed for preaching about Evolution.

I feel that patch notes should pop up a window right after logging in after patching with a summary of the notes. Maybe more people would read them (or am I being too optimistic)?

I for one am loving it, I have it mapped right next to my Unit TS so when we don’t have a full 12 I can still direct the Pugs.
Is it perfect, of course not but that was to be expected.
But we are better off than we were without it. Coordination will improve and information will be passed along much faster.
As a Scout Lead I hated having to type to pass along info, a motionless Scout is a dead one in this game.
My biggest complaint is the Mute not carrying over from match to match.
As I expected some people cant conduct themselves properly and are better off not being heard.
I got one guy three drops in a row (thanks ELO) and the first two he did nothing but curse and berate anyone who asked him to control himself.
Fortunately the third time he was on the Opforce, I enjoyed hunting him down that time.
Give it some time, as will all things in this game it will get better.

Muting players, you can do this at the Ready screen by clicking on the speaker by their name on the right side of the list. Ingame, hit TAB, pulls up the player list, click the speaker by their name on the right side of the list again, Mute does NOT carry over after a drop, it's only good for the drop you mute them in, so you may have to mute people repeatedly if you keep getting drops with them.
FPS hits, don't know what to tell you on that one, I don't have any FPS drop with it, but I'm running an i7 950 and a GTX 750 2gig card, I don't really see FPS drops except in the Faction screen, shoots right back up once I drop in CW, and that's a known issue. Odd to see any FPS hits with TS, which is what PGI used, the TS SDK, did you try changing your hardware for the voip? Settings, Audio, you can hit the various options for what the voip uses for playback/recording, might help, worth a shot.

Pubs will get owned because pubs are pubs. No amount of Voip, or Lobby system, faction chat or anything is going to change that.
You're just going to do your own damned thing, in your own little world, and then go complain when you get stomped by people who are playing as a team.
Thank you for wasting PGI's time.
Thank you for missing the point.
1) They just added it, and many people don't even read the patch notes or may not even have a mic. You can't tell how many people are listening, just how many are speaking.
2) It's still got plenty of bugs based on many posts, so who knows how many people would like to use it but can't.
3) Many people probably turned it off by default not because "they are stupid PUG's" but because they assume the worst of people on the internet and aren't interested in listening to people spew insults randomly. Given that the OP's thread exists - a perfect example of the type of random crap-slinging most of us would prefer to avoid - I'd say those people's assumptions were right on the money.

Users don't read popups. That's like, rule number one of UI design.
You have to either force them through a tutorial that isn't easily skippable, make said feature obvious enough to figure out without instruction, or let support handle all the people that can't figure out how to use it.
So PGI's doing the best that they can.
