I don't know who initiated the attack, which is why I didn't name you specifically because I know you better.

But whoever did made a serious error in diplomacy AND strategy.

Not sure why you'd think that.
Strategically, we have nothing to lose but a couple planets that weren't ours anyway.
Diplomatically, meh, nobody likes Kurita much anyway.

Marik hasn't dropped on our borders in such large numbers since -MS- was still a part of it so it had to have been someone's idea. Not that we're mad at having nearly instant queues for games, but we're a little disappointed we had to divert our attention from stomping Davion on their weekly Big Night.

LOL, honey, If I wanted to rile up Marik to war, it would have been when y'all were posting your declarations and intentions and revisions and such.

Not a week later.

"Bro, if I wanted to beat you down I'd have beat you down way much betterer than you were beat down" - the dude who got beat down.

A man from Davion said something like that once upon a time. We kicked his face in so hard he joined Marik. You should take Diplomacy seriously, even if it is with the "hated" kuritians.

Ah, more ableist shitposting from the vaunted 'leaders' of Kurita.

So proud, much honor

Strategically, [redacted] decides to attack an ALLY (granted one we've been having issues with, but nothing more than words). He decides to attack said ally when our best units are loaned out to other factions. And on top of that, decides to attack when we've gotten fat and rusty from not facing real opponents since December.

Diplomatically, if you break alliances, well then, nobody trusts you.

This is an obvious thing to any competent leader.

Fixed that for you. Not that I blame you seeing the spanking being dished your way ;)

I was going to post something like, it's not like there are several avenues of communication every house has outside of the forums to coordinate things, but Roadbeer went ahead and posted it himself so I guess it was unnecessary. Whoops!

So we're forced to be in bed with them forever because we mistakenly shared a hotpocket with them?

It might also be worth noting that, as hated and bad as we are at posting, we represent a great force multiplier in pushing back the clans, arguably the best of the northern houses. Making Marik or the star league unable to coordinate with us out of distrust has been a really baffling move for those of us in DCMS High Command, but your posts make everything suddenly make a lot more sense if tonight's been the result of a leader with an axe to grind pushing his own agenda instead of a decision by Marik HC collectively.

How about: "Hey guys, we don't really agree with your attitudes anymore, so we're going to give you back the wormhole like we promised you we would, and then leave it at that. No hard feelings, okay?"

There, bloodless, painless.

Vote Dervishx5 for Dear Capitan-General. Derv is the Word that will save Purple Bird.
