Yes, I get that some people play like ******* during these things. Some only play LRM boats (but they probably do that anyway), and others will just hang back and kill steal then run and hide.
But, i still like getting free stuff. It's easy to get the free premium time. And while its active I'm gonna play as hard as i can to get the free 'Mech, the 'Mech Bay (I always love free 'Mech Bays). anything past that is gravy.

I'll see y'all on the battlefield, hopefully before you see me.....

While I like the aspect of earning things.. and thank you for that... this set of point conditions is.... Please read the comments that have been made here and loose the win condition at least.. or score something for the kill/assist and extra for the win.. something like that. Grinding is not fun... I want to play these challenges and feel the fun of achieving something that's not based an the randomness of being dropped in a winning team....

As I stand there in my Panther, hamster Huey and I watch as the mech powers up into the green and check to make sure I had radar derpification (I call it that now). My team knows what's coming and know it won't end, but we rally up behind cover and prepare for the hell that is LRMageddon. Before the rain came I had one thing on my mind..............................Why did they had to include wins as a requirement?

I personally like the idea of a broader point system, one that rewards for getting the kill, assist AND win, but still rewards for assists and kills too even with a loss.

It could be as simple as Kill-Assist-Loss = 1pt
Kill-Assist-Win = 2-3pts

Or you could make it more specific, say:

Kill = 2 pts
Assist = 1 pt
Win = 3 pts
You can only get points from one each of these per match.
For example: You have a match with 5 assists, no kill and you win. Thus you get 4 pts.
OR You get 2 kill, 3 assists but lose. Thus you get 3 pts.

Is this meant that in CW, I get 4 Points, if I have 4 Assist and 6 Kills per match or regardsless if I win, I only get 1 Point?

As far as I have understood this and experienced it in the last challenge with the same rules:

You must achieve 1 kill AND 1 assist AND win the game. Then you get 1 Point. You cannot get more than 1 point per match. Which makes CW quite less effectiv I think because of match duration. In CW I think, winning is the only difficulty.

From my PUG CW point of view ;)

I like the win rule.
It should motivate people not to rush to their first kill and then call it quits. Which is what would surely happen, if the rule wasn't there. Get your kill, shot someone else hoping to get an assist, log off, enter another match with another mech, rinse and repeat.


That said, I wish they'd shell out some kind of match-score points for shooting down LRMs as well.
My 3-AMS Kitfox just loves LRMageddon...

Why are people complaining (again)? Seriously... whatever PGI puts out for COMPETITION, players will whine and cry that it is too difficult and they cant manage it or it is unfair.

FFS, it is a Competition/Tournament/challenge. It is not a everyone gets a friggin freebie just for showing up! What is this bloody entitelment mentality today of "Everyone is a winner"?

How about you wait for the "To the Victors Mark ii" challenge before you really start to cry seriously? For those who are crying about the winning criteria here... remember the "stay alive" criteria from that one as well as all the other criteria of this challenge?

EDIT: Oh btw... how about the community tries for actual teamwork for once in one of these challenges? The get a kill criteria would be so much simpler if players wouldnt go for that 3rd or 4th kill and instead made sure to leg/de-weapon opponents after their first kill so that others in the team could have an easier time with their own points.

This grind will be painful, and is worth it if this 3L has jumpjets. I'd work for a 3L with JJ,

Will just do it mainly in group queue, should be easy enough to get the Mech (XL 295) at least. Dunno if i have the playtime this weekend for the ~75 games itll take to get the camo though.

The "Cataphract event" , PGI gave Continued to get more 20 points. for those cockpit and color.
This one has only 3 days?! :wacko:

Approx 80-90 matches if luck stays with us.
Approx 124-130 matches if luck flies away.

It took me ~130(!!!) rounds only for the first weekend to get the CTF + ~30 for the second...so "luck" doesnt exist in my world :D
I have many reallife things to do this weekend, so thx in advance for the 3 Days of premium (that will be it).

The win condition makes it brutal for Solos and casuals. Last time I had a 22 match losing streak. Didn't matter how well I played so the challenge is just a crapshoot.

As NGNG really runs PGI maybe we should be talking to them instead.

I wonder if we'll ever be able to play normally during the weekend, without 2/3 of the players hiding behind teammates backs the entire match only to jump into their crosshairs whenever the enemy with red torso appears...

Tourneys like this a major contributing factor as to why i try not play at the weekends. Its almost as if PGI encourages trolling and half arsed playing.

Seriously why do we have to play for so effing long to get the 'decent' reward. Most of us have a life and can't afford to play 50 - 75 odd matches at ten minutes each. 8.3 -12.5 hours give or take gameplay.

Last time i played one of these tourneys i was getting winged at for kill hogging by other players, on occasion taking about 4 kills in my cent's. To which my response we need to win don't we?

First post to say that while I appreciate the effort and the free giveaways, this challenge structure does indeed bring out the worst in players, myself included.

Moreover, it manages to make the game less enjoyable (even after the event has ended), almost to the point where I'm no longer interested in playing.

How about match score/damage challenges, or perhaps some better balancing of the requirements to get a point rather than this fairly maddening, all-or-nothing format.
