Shadow Cat is DOA, not enough hardpoints to support MWO boating meta.
Executioner might be good (depends on MASC implementation) but only for pub drops, 8 tons are basically wasted on useless JJs.
"Holy Trinity" is basically turning into "Holy Quintet" which is good, maybe community will finally open their eyes.

Shadowcat is FAR from DOA. Sure it will limited to like 3 or 4 builds (2xLPL, 3xERLL, 2xERPPC + maaaaybe Gauss+2xERML if there is tonnage) but those builds are FINE for a 107kph 45 tonner with 6 JJs and ECM.

They only have the Executioner and the Cauldron's stuff done at the moment. Russ had planned a different package but changed his mind late so the art team isn't finished with the cheetah and Shadcat.
So they have the art of Fire Moth and VIper done? ohh.... (I wanted so much to see it)

I've done as much as is humanly possible with a 250-300 ping.
Russ said something about that like "maybe adding a euro server after steam release when there's more player's to fill the optional game modes.

I think the whole 'viable clan light' thing will be the big selling point. If the Cat and the Cauldron are even halfway decent, it will open up Clan dropdecks considerably... which could mean a very, very significant boost to the Clans in CW especially.
Light rushes getting Clanners down? Well, they will have their own - one that may very well compete with the FireStarter.
Depending on the implementation of Masc, they might even be able to include ShadowCats in a light rush. Gauss + Change will add considerable impact to an early game extravaganza.

2xGauss is finally workable on something besides a dire wolf.
2xCUAC10 plus backup SRMS and lasers...I think that's going to be a bully.

Better the devil you know.
As excited as I am for the new mechs I can already hear the "Clams OP" brigade whinging from the future.

They will literally never stop doing that, so its best to ignore them tbh.
A lot of this games population are super salty about clans because they feel they ruined TT, and as such will always hate them. Plus a lot of IS die hards just look at possible builds in Smufies and call OP based on that (despite most of the clan nerfs being stuff that doesnt show up there, like laser durations and burst ACs)

It couldn't be any other heavy, because at 3050, there is no other Clan heavy (omni, with XL Engine).
The light could be the Fire Moth, but it would break the speed barrier, specially if there will be MASC implemented.
The medium could (or should) be the Viper, but I guess the Shadow Cat has much more fans (Viper is an omni from the original invading force, but never featured in a MW game yet).
Assault could be the Kingfisher, but it doesn't have XL Engine.
So yes, the current line-up was kind of obvious.

They're totally going to, aren't they? For "balance".
there is not much official pics to work with, so they may stick close to the BT mini?

if that even si an original, googlle does snot even have much pics about that. It's actually so few pics, i wonder if this mech even every existed outside a written concept.

i agree S-cat may suffer from summoner syndrome but it does come with an ECM pod at least, as for the Exec if they add alt con D then i think it would make a decent PPC jump sniper with high mounted energy torso hardpoints that's even assuming they will be high mounted. to begin with
