its more than just win/loss ratio.
also i am far from beeing on the low elo curve.
and no its not easier because as i said you dont get the support you need for some mechs. if you dont play the meta/ppfld crap you struggle hard in this one. thats all.

And this is a big part of the problem. Massive alpha strikes rule the day still. PPFLD is not good for the game. The only thing it is good for is if you are tying to attract the xbox kids.

Btw if this event really makes people play worse as you claimed (not supporting each other, rushing in stupidly etc.) then this should make it easier for you to get kills not harder.

But that's exactly the point. I don't want "easy" games. I want a challenge. Something that might go one way or the other and what I have to concentrate for and play the best I can to master it. If I just wanted an adder or a stupid color, I would shell out a few bucks and buy the mastery pack or whatever. But that's not it. I want fun games. And basically shooting sitting ducks is not fun - at least not to me.

sadly the quirks and reduce ghost heat on some weapons is counter-productive to anything. its going more and more towards the one-click-kill and away from battletech.
i already suggested to divide the energy slots into high and low energy slots so at least the large laser/ppc boating can be reduced but no one cares at all.

lets face it: boating is what the majority of the players want.
this aint battletech anymore.

I'd like to clarify my earlier frustration, which the benefit of sleep has cooled a bit, as being not directed at PGI, since I am grateful for events and giveaways, so much as being, absolutely, directed at the way people play when these events are happening. Period.

I have seen PGI tweak scoring formats on these on a regular basis, so have confidence that they will keep experimenting, but I feel honestly, the real problem, is just players. I really miss the "Win" condition honestly, and truth be told, I even thought the "Survive" condition was kind of a fun angle, I think both necessitated smarter group play (with a mixed bag of results, sure, but still).

I will clarify again, I really feel it is the "Kill" condition that drives most of the bad stuff. I really do. And I have seen many proposals that would alter this, in a handful of different ways, that I hope will be considered in the future.

Mainly though, I really want to see a format that encourages people to play smart, and as a team, and play to win. This will ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone, whether they are chasing the Challenge goals or not.

Cheers.

It's good that you got the wins early. The current grief is people overriding shutdown at either the end of the match or when they are badly damaged to kill themselves rather than allowing someone else to get the kill.

To all who say "its tooo easy" - look at screen abowe - one guy wasted 27 hours to get this!!! That is true challenge - find so much time to play at weekend! 27 hours... unbelivable...

P.S. personaly i think that only 20-30% of MWO players will do that challenge to 100%, as for me i dont know how to do it - 2 games to get one point, wasted whole day and only at 20 now... undoable challenge for averanger player coz takes too much time... Even with killl-assist-win it was more easy !

Basically you are saying that getting a point by getting one kill and one assist and ONE WIN is easier than just getting one kill and one assist...
Makes no sense.

6 posts challange very fast done hmm i wonder if some disconnecting mechs and smurf accounts are involved
as ususal.
Had several matches where i just waited at the afks till some lone mech came around to kill them (the afks werent DCs).
Same with People blatantly going awol totally away from the group and killed on the other side of the map by loners.

What annoys the most except getting aimbotted is playing rigged and smurfed up matches.

They do not count, but they do seem to happen more frequently with events like this as people experience tunnel vision to the tune of "gotta get that kill". From my observations, I would say it can be just as likely the fault of the person who is focused so much on the target, that they lose battlefield awareness, and end up putting themselves between the target and the Dire Wolf(s) spamming UACs, as it can be the fault of the Dire Wolf(s) spamming UACs with no regard for who or what is between them and the target.

Plenty of blame to go around during these types of Challenges. :P

Ah, you mean a true TK, rather than the inadvertent Friendly Fire incidents that I referred to,

Those seem to be a combination of frustration and trolling for the most part. Believe it or not, there is a certain type of player who believes that the most fun they can have in a game like this, is to ruin it for everyone else during Challenges and other higher player traffic/stress events.

And to those people, I wish the worst types of punishment, usually only found during Purges and Inquisitions. ;)

Thank you for hearing our pleas about the win requirement!

Thanks for NOTHING.
This event took me MORE matches than last week's one.

PGI: Please re-instate the win condition (to prevent player from committing suicide just to get that kill)
OR, even better, base the points on match score (if that one is set up properly since the recent change!)
so supporter (actions) will be rewarded as well.

It used to be 1k/1a/survive/win. That was too hard. Removed survive, that was too hard. Removed win, still too hard. Guess next one will be 'get an assist, get 1 pt' to reduce the crying down to manageable levels.

I am hoping they go back to "Get a score of 80 or higher, get one point".

Edit: Oh, and let it stack in CW. It will keep CW worth playing.

This i totally agree with. Cw takes twice as long at least. You should be able to get multiple points in a cw match
