I can understand the frustration, but I also bought it first day and I'm glad they're giving others the option to take it up. If it even encourages one extra person to spend the extra dosh on it, it's a win.

You mean........they just found out today to extend the deal. What are we freakin idots! Just this morning I received an e-mail to "hurry" and purchase NOW!, before it's too late non-sense. I've never complained before, but this is a devious way of doing business. And then say that it's because 2 of the mechs dont have concept art?!? THATS B@#$%T! I've purchased before sight unseen. I'm with Bishop ! Do the people who commited and purchase early in support of your salaries get anything fo being suckered into an early deal? This PGI is NOT COOL! Does anyone know what RUSS thinks of this?

I have probably spent more on this game than anyone posting. Does the size of the wad I spent entitle me to special treatment of consideration? Nope. I am fine with people having a better chance. I am fine with people thinking PGI should sweeten the deal a little for the "trew" early adopters.

But the call for "massive reparations" and then pulling the whole "hold PGI hostage with my wallet" card? Lol. I really think you overestimate your personal import/impact to the game and it's finances, or the number of people who feel similarly outraged.

No one is going to say no to PGI giving free stuff, as an "I'm sorry", type thing, but beyond that? Folks got to get over their entitlement issues. Sorry I can't put it in a nicer, more diplomatic way Catalina. Hate to harsh another CGBI member, but you're getting a little over the top, IMO.

That was a joke son...

Oh. Well I don't really see what there is to upset about, then. I don't see how the extended deadline affects the people that already paid, unless it's a shameless grab for more loot.

Then again this games reward for money investment has always been early-access to content that is understood to be, typically, stronger than it will be after it comes out for space bucks. So I guess you interpret the deadline extension as a reduction on the elite power you expected to get by making it more widely available?

It could also have to do with a lot of people still paying off their Xmas bills, too, of course.

This, right here. Wanted the Executioner, couldn't afford it on this month's budget. Am happy about the added chance to get the special.

Having the promotion only run through feb 28th was a mistake. They fixed it.

This thread is awesome

OP is still getting freebies, complaining others are getting it too.
Then insults a company and calling them foolish because they want to make more sales.

PGI gonna PGI
  • Get your early bird bonus if you order Wave 3 quickly! Come on, this is your last chance!
  • Get the same early bird bonus if you order Wave 3 within two weeks! We didn't make quite as much money as we had hoped, so we pushed the deadline back a bit! This time it's actually your last chance, honest!
  • Get your limited edition Loyalty mechs if you buy these packages.
  • Get some moar limited edition Loyalty mechs if you buy these packages. (Turns out, they weren't so limited)
  • Get your unique medallion for participating in Operation 24, to remember this unique event
  • Get another identical medallion for this random weekend challenge (Turns out, they weren't really that unique)
Now, mind you, I don't have a problem with the fact that they make stuff available for more players. If it were up to me, all mechs in this game would be available at all times, for a price. Chris Roberts / RSI has exactly the right idea. Sell all the ships at certain times, and increase the price gradually so that original founders got a better deal. However, when the game is released, all ships (!) and all special items (!) will be available somehow in-game, for free. There's no P2W ship that can only be purchased with real money. There are no unique paints or unique cockpit items that can only be bought for money, or that were limited edition once upon a time. Every little snowglobe and propaganda poster will be available for in-game currency, somehow.

This is what it should be for MWO as well, I think. I'd like to see absolutely everything available in-game for C-bills, even if you had to pay 50 million C-bills for the Kerensky hologram cockpit item.

What really sucks, however, is selling the customers a product where part of the marketing is that this is a unique opportunity to get a limited edition item.... and then you make that limited edition item available later, to squeeze out some extra profit. That's firmly in the grey area of business ethics, and both RSI and PGI are guilty of doing it.

I agree with the OP, they should stick to what they say.

Instead of being happy that others in our community now have a chance at the bonus, some of us are upset? Everyone agreed that the short deadline wasn't fair, but when PGI relents and extends it, now they screwed up?

You can't win, Russ and company, you just can't.

The shortness of the early bird was always a mistake. There was a lot of requests to extend it a week or two because people needed the new months finances.
Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

and Russ has already stated they will so something for compensation. Doubt it will be of sufficient magnitude to assauge the OP, but oh well. I mean, if the outrage is as strong as indicated, I would have thought the only reasonable answer would be for those so affected to cancel their orders and stick to PGI good!

It's not so much this... but the fact it got extended after the last minute that annoys some. People had to take flack at home or move finances around that would have been more comfortable rolling in March.

The delay in this correction to after the last minute is the MAJOR issue. Had they done it on say Thursday, I wouldn't even be annoyed.

I'm rather irked about this Extension for Wave III, in fact it annoys the hell out of me. Isn't this the second time this has happened? At any rate, I'm all for the 'extension', in the fact that it get's others on board with the ability to reap the rewards with exclusive bonus content etc.

At the same time however and probably more so, I feel mislead under false pretenses and pressured into a deadline. Only the other day I received an email for 'last chance' and yet here we are. After slamming down another whack of money which I honestly would have preferred to spend later on down the road but no, I wanted all that 'Clan goodness' so rushed to pay!....when I didn't have too!?

It's ridiculous if this is going to be the tactics used with packages that come along moving forward. If this is the way your running your business model and you plan on bumping this deadline you should be compensating others who adhered by the initial deadline and felt the money was well spent. You've even even posted yourselves that others felt the deadline 'wasn't convenient' for some...probably true, this is a whole other paycheck away but guess what, it wasn't convenient for me to pay by the 28th but I did...and now I'm getting screwed over.

Kudos - and well played.

I quit buying packs right after I cancelled my Phoenix Pack order. Primarily because I didn't like buying something that wasn't completely fleshed out and subject to change.

Not just change as in, "Oh...well this is what we decided upon", but also change as in "Yeah we finally decided on this and put it out there, but now we are further changing what you bought and got used to".

Wow people are complaining about the extension of a sale
What the hell is wrong with you people

New buyers didnt get anything better than you
Your value was not reduced
The sale will end and many people will miss out

Seriously you guys have no idea how good you get it here at mwo

People that play archeage got screwed day1
When they released a new pack that was tripple the value of a founders pack for half the cost
And it kept getting worse with each update

Buying the mech packs in mwo is about getting better value for your money and low n behold that's exactly what your getting

Put your toys back in the pram and go find something to more meaningful to do

PGI needs to stop trying to be RSI and accept that they're not even in the same ballpark.

LOl yea,

Is that the "having a game after 3 years" ballpark?
