I think maybe founder's mechs are not what I expected.

As a general practice, if you're going to spend more dollars than you have fingers, you probably want to read all the basic product information about whatever you're buying.

This goes double for anything they arrange in chart format.

More dollars than fingers?

I think, as a general rule of practice, if you have to sweat eleven bucks you need to stop gaming and get a real job.

I skimmed over what I was going to get and it was worth way more than 120 TO ME. I do not need to get lawyers involved or get my mommy to proof read for me.

ALso, a couple of you keep bringing up pay to win or better mechs etc. Read the OP. Better mechs were never mentioned.

Calm down.

dunno why ur bringing this up now personaly........they explained founders mechs very clearly befor you payed anything O.O ..they explained the entire package befor it was even released >.> so ... read befor you buy .... or sign (ppl should already know this =,=)

Also, people should know how to read.

There was no complaining in the OP at all.

Read.

Stop trying to sound smart and lecture people.

It may just be me but I always assumed, after being told that you get a mechbay slot for founders mechs, that the slot is only for that mech, therefore its not an extra space, just free space for a mech that I hopefully will never sell, or have to sell. But other than that I thought what we were getting for our money was explained quite well, so far I've not had any suprises anyway.

An Elite will only be able to own a max of 9 Mechs. A Veteran or normal guy will only be able to own a max of 8. Us Legendaries will be able to own up to 12 Mechs.

Where did you get this information about max mech slots?

Oh, I just noticed that the founders get early access starting july 12th. Hell, I'd have paid $120 just for that ^_^ I am increasingly happy with my purchase. Might get my brother a founder's package for his birthday on the 5th.

Hey man, where did you see this? I'm postponing my Elite purchase cos i can't decide which one to choose, but if this is true, 12th might be my deadline!!!

The Founders mech get a unique skin and model (especialy the catapult and jenner) and they get a permanent 25% cbill boost, i fail to see whats not unique about that and at the same time what could be a iwin button.

What Telthalion Said...

I think Premium Tanks tend to have more disadvantages ive found, but never stopped me getting hold of a fair few and Kick butt with em lol

Think the main Advantage with the Founder Mechs will be Extra C-Bills, and having a Slightly different look compared to any one elses

Plus the C-Bill Modifier Stacks with the Premium Account

Whats the premium account?

Do we choose the mech now or later?

Because I would rather look at the specs of the mechs first before choosing.

Well, there's the c-bill booster, although nobody knows if that will be available again down the line.

Honestly Id expect to see it eventually in the cash shop they offer.
IMO it depends on how well the game is going.
When Cryptic was getting flushed, they started throwing the pre-order and "exclusive" stuff into their cash shop to get money. The excuses ranged from a false sense of "entitlement" to "if it wasnt for this cash shop you wouldnt get new shuff" so you can pretty much tell just how well the company/game is doing by the stuff they start shoving in there

I am very much sure, that you won't be able to copy a founder's 'mech look with normal means. That means that you will always have something to distinguish yourself from other's that joined the game later, if only in looks.

It's kinda similar to what Unknown Worlds Entertainment did with their earliest Natural Selection 2 preorderers: Instead of normal (greenish) Marine armour, you get a black armour with cool nightvision goggles. It's purely cosmetic, but it clearly sets you apart as someone who supported the game from the earliest possible.

For me, that is more than enough ;)

Am I the only one who's thinking in the line of supporting a gamecompany with the 120 dollar gameversion I bought? Sure, the extra founder mech's I'm getting are also what I signed up for, as is the c-bills extra income we're getting for a match, but I bought it mainly to support the company as they are launching a game I've waited for for so many long years, ever since Mech Commander or Mech Warrior ;)

Huge thumbs up to the gamecompany for getting it of the ground and into something I'm sure to love, again! :D

I thought that founder's mechs in MWO would be analogous to premium tanks in WoT.

In WoT a premium tank is not better than another tank of it's tier. For example a T-14 is a tier 5 premium tank. It has good armor and an average gun. The mobility is average I guess. It is not by any means better than a non-premium fully upgraded tier 5 heavy tank. It is different though. It also gets a bous to credits received after a match.

Also, the people who "bought in" early with WoT got a special premium tank called the M6A2 something or other. It is not a great tank but you can not get them. Only the people who bought in early have them.

I thought the founder's mechs would be unique also. I did not think they would be better or more powerful but thought they would be something that only the people who were willing to invest early would get.

Do not misunderstand. I do not regret investing the 120 bucks and I am still very much looking forward to the game. Also, I did not want a mech that was an "I win" button or anything. I did not want anything that gave me an edge.

I wanted something that was unique in more ways than just a skin.

Everyone will be able to skin their mechs anyway according to the youtube video I saw so a unique skin is no reward at all really.

Oh well.

Still very much looking forward to it.

its a skin + cbill bonus + free chasis. an atlas costs like 10-12 million. a catapult costs over 6 mil, a hunchback over 3 mil and a jenner over 2 mil. thats nearly 25 million cbills of mechs by tt prices, and since mwo is heavily based on table top i suspect they cost the same when it comes out. even with prem sub/founder mech bonus, i bet 25 million cbills is still alot of grinding! now you can spend it on chasis other then the 4 you have, or special variants like a k2 ect. some of us gotta have every mech ever as well, just because. its a nice step down the road!

Shh. Stop using logic. It's not like some of us grew up playing MechWarrior, and got into SciFi because of it.

It's not like some of us wasted our high school years playing MW4 and MW4: Mercs non-stop. :3

I was hoping that a founder Catapult's prime variant can swap for a Catapult K2 variant to keep its founder boost. Since it won't happen, so I will buy the Veteran founder pack to support PGI, and grab the K2 instead.

They said it would be "fully customizable" so I'm guessing you can build your CPLT-K2 yourself...

you make more money, it looks different, and may have differently placed hardpoints?

it are the same hardpoins, which you get if you buy the normal prime variant of the mech
