Well, y'know....back in the Army, we had a term we used for how PGI is slapping this thing together...a more polite term would be "Farm Technology" or "Jury Rigging."

Eventually, the 550 cord and 100mph tape is going to come apart. And I'll be here, watching it happen.

I've got an old truck that I rebuild the flanges on the fuel pump that snapped off with J-B Weld... Has held up for 15 years. Sometimes "farm tech" is sufficient... :P

And all this time I thought the term was only "Jerry Rigging". Here's to learning something new everyday, even in MWO.

If PGI was interested in balance, CW would consist of the Clans fighting over Strana Mechty and the homeworlds for invasion corridors, while the Successor Houses fought over the Inner Sphere. This would allow the faction mechs to be balanced within their faction, then AFTER that is completed, begin the invasion and begin balancing the factions against one another.

Good Idea Of The Day.

... and it's even three days old.

I have heard that called "southern engineering" among other less public consumption friendly things...

Might very well have been "Jerry Rigging" to begin with....Jerry was the slang term for Germans. Funny part of that is...their technology was superior to ours, they didn't do half as much "Jerry Rigging" as we did.

(Please note I typed that before I red DaZur's link. Good to know my brain is still semi-functional at retaining information)

Tell that to the US Navy's Construction Force (SeaBees)... They are renowned for their ingenuity in "multi-task utilization of a-typical items"...

Balance isn't possible le due to an open and unbalanced mech lab and the ability to exchange a MG for an AC 20 or 3 small lasers for 8 small pulse lasers.....

Untrue. Seabees are, by default, professionals at what they do.....therefore, "SeaBee-ing" is several levels above "Jury Rigging" in both concept and execution. Those guys are freaking magicians...and trust me, I hold a PhD in Farm Technology.

And the fact that Omnimechs, which are supposed to be superior due to their ability to be modified quickly and without extensive repair bays, are actually less customizable because PGI just doesn't get it.

Balance is a myth in any game format, no game achieves balance.
Nothing is ever perfect, and people complain all the time it won't stop ever.

This entire game, and franchise is based on power creep.

IS Level 1 > Clan > PGI OP Quirking and nerfing> IS Level 2> PGI more Quirking and nerfing

It will never end. (primarily because nobody can agree on what is exactly balanced)
