Taking away the 3 LL ghost heat barrier for IS mechs has made a huge affect.
But putting 12 man up against pugs is just so desuading. Since I've started playing, I've entered at least 25 matches, of which, as a pug, have only had 3 victories. All else was just being stomped by 12 mans. They should be on a league of their own, period. Its absurd, no fun what so ever

You do realize that Community Warfare was designed to be hard core mode, with large groups as the primary players?

Getting stomped as a solo-PUG player in CW is the expectation. Find a group.

Then why does PGI entice PUGs to enter CW with the call to arms?

I do have a group, they just dont play CW that much, cause its hard to get everyone organized to play at the same time. CW should have a 8 - 12 man drop cue, and a seperate with for less ppl. I've played MWO since CB, and I can see how this is such a turn off for so many players

Pugs lose in CW cuz they try to play like solo. You cant really camp in CW, you NEED to push especially on attack.

CW was meant for teams, hence greater need for coordination.

There are casual teams out there.

Expecting CW to be like solo is like expecting a screwdriver to work like a brake press.

I dont see it that way. Why players are so concerned with how others play is beyond me. I play which ever matches I want. If I go onto the star map I expect the toughest challenge. Faily simple.

Why would I waste my time trying to not have groups or anyone else not on the star map?

CW is intended for large groups. It's why I don't bother playing that game mode anymore. That's just the way it is.

this is true.

It was incredibly stupid for them to do that, but it is true.

I think Solaris will kill CW because it is easier to gather small groups. Too bad...I had hoped for warfare in a Battletech universe. CW failed at that (can't stand LoLesque maps either) for me at least. In the end we will be stuck in World of WarcraftÄs arenas :(

Yep, and once you find a group, you can have "fun" rolling PUG's... at least people keep telling me that's fun.

And, no, any game mode that hands out free wins to teams for seal-clubbing is not "hard core mode." It's a joke.

Imagine if the NFL worked this way... This Sunday, watch as an NFL team beats up a couple dozen guys picked from the stands, all of whom may have played football back in high school! It's exciting! Right... and, no, the proper response to such insanity would be to watch a different sport, not complain that the pile of random players haven't yet joined an NFL team.

Basic truth is that is that as long as CW encourages seal-clubbing, it is going to suck. At best, you join a team and get random games with no real opponents where you get to club seals - boring! At worst, you are part of a small unit or go solo and get clubbed randomly... boring, too.

Why?

Because MWO in general, and the stale, repetitive, try-hard CW mode in particular, lacks enough players to keep CW going if it was only limited to teams.

This has lead to the insane decision to encourage solos to play CW - so that wait times aren't measured in hours - while giving them absolutely no reason to keep playing after getting their faces stomped in by teams practicing the usual dull tactics. Apparently, PGI's hope is that they'll get enough new CW suckers to keep the game mode barely alive vs. actually FIXING it and giving solos and small teams a reason to play other than to pad the wins of teams who crow about "hard core mode" while killing trial Stalkers in their fully leveled Timberwolf.

4xERML+2xLPL - 54 damage
3xLL - 27 damage
3xLL x2 - 54 damage but higher facetime

Stop whining trashborns, you're breaking immersion.

It was a rhetorical question. I generally agree with you. PGI should not be enticing solos and newbies into the try-hard slaughterhouse.

Who remembers when there was only one queue and people said this game was made for team play and solos to get stomped?

Now there's poor numbers for CW, i'm sure they'll make a change to try to bump the numbers. Don't forget, CW is just not finished, don't put so much significance into it yet.

It is possible to rally the pugs through force of leadership over VOIP nowadays... but good god, is it exhausting.
