Trees and other objects should be destructable.
Wouyld be "nice" to create forest fire that effects heat management.

I voted Yes to all options, as there should definitely be destructible, but if I was forced to choose one and only one option, it would have to be inanimate objects such as buildings, vehicles, and terrain.

As dumb as the poll choices are, this is a discussion that needs to happen.

I'm not a big fan of killing animals since I'm not a sociopath, but I think there should be some degree of destructibility. While I'm not expecting something like environments in the newer Battlefield games, there should at least be indication that battlemechs have been fighting in the area. Also, crumbling corners. It would be a shame to see a new game like MWO have people repeatedly taking cover behind the same building edge that magically remains so perfectly linear.

i doubt youd see any animals to be picked off. WoT had a sound for when you ran over a dog house in closed beta and their was a crap storm on the forums about it and they took it out.....

Keep it clean (how much blood will be visible from a 30 tall exploding mech?)

Keep animals out (all that computing animiating power put to better things, bigger maps & Effects)

By All Means, BC2 and BF3 with Destructible environments rule the newer FPS

Destructible Terrain, Trees, Buildings, and everything else = YES

Blood and Gore on innocent Animals = NO

I say no, mainly because it would drive up the rating of the game to like R18+... Which would make MWO banned in a great number of countries and this Company would not like that at all... the more that can play and have fun the better and better chances more players will spend money on the game, even if its the parents paying for the stuff for the Kid

so NO to Blood and killing Animals

I think it would be a really nice thing for the devs to implement (full destructability, as/where the engine allows), of course animals are unneccessary and should merely be there for atmosphere purposes - not for sadistic people to hunt down and slaughter.

As a hunter I do not want to see a lot of dead animals in the game. For many people the fact that such are shown would be cause to castigate the game and its players for no other reason than "it's cruel". Does not matter one bit that the critters are make-believe as that's the way some folks think. The second reason I do not want any animals in the game is that any animal whose home territory is invaded by 12 to 24 clanking machines of war weighing up to 100 tons would leave the area as soon as possible. Third is the fact that such "fluff" would cause great problems in the programming of the game. I would rather see more mechs included than Bambi !

Yeah, animals and people, not so plausible, but as for terrain it would be nice to knock over trees and such

I think it would be nice if the base capture victory condition could include a requirement to destroy some sort of enemy asset: command truck/ encampment, coms tower, etc. Rather than the traditional sit in circle unopposed for x amount of time.

blood from stepping on infantry or deaf animals wouldnt be noticable unless you where on a really small light mech but aside from pointing that out ive always thought a gauss rifle should be able to punch a SUV sized hole in cover and last time i checked buildings arent impervious to missles

I don't care about cosmetic stuff like stomping animals or infantry (i'd try it once, and then would never care about it again).
But destructible environment is a must have for the game's longevity, as dynamic battlefields play different each time. Dynamic cover from trees or certain buildings adds so much depth to the battles, it would be a real pity if MechWarrior Online would not offer that. Just static battelfield would make the gameplay less interesting in the long run.

I think the devs have already said there are destructible trees and the other stuff is in the "things we'd like to do" category. Certainly the engine should be able to do it.

Destructible environmen Hell yes, trees should be splintered by exploding rockets and walked over by mechs, lets be honest 50 tons moving at a pace of roughly 60 kph yields over 3million kilograms of force, can you expect a tree to stop that? no, but it should slow it down by a kph or so

Destructive environment, yes. But animals? What animal is going to hang around with a 30+ ton hunk a metal stomping around near them?

birds could potentially fly into a missile salvo or something, totally on accident, like IRL bird strikes today.
