I'm not a big fan of killing animals since I'm not a sociopath, but I think there should be some degree of destructibility. While I'm not expecting something like environments in the newer Battlefield games, there should at least be indication that battlemechs have been fighting in the area. Also, crumbling corners. It would be a shame to see a new game like MWO have people repeatedly taking cover behind the same building edge that magically remains so perfectly linear.

Keep animals out (all that computing animiating power put to better things, bigger maps & Effects)
By All Means, BC2 and BF3 with Destructible environments rule the newer FPS

Blood and Gore on innocent Animals = NO
I say no, mainly because it would drive up the rating of the game to like R18+... Which would make MWO banned in a great number of countries and this Company would not like that at all... the more that can play and have fun the better and better chances more players will spend money on the game, even if its the parents paying for the stuff for the Kid
so NO to Blood and killing Animals

But destructible environment is a must have for the game's longevity, as dynamic battlefields play different each time. Dynamic cover from trees or certain buildings adds so much depth to the battles, it would be a real pity if MechWarrior Online would not offer that. Just static battelfield would make the gameplay less interesting in the long run.

birds could potentially fly into a missile salvo or something, totally on accident, like IRL bird strikes today.
