But it does seem like a bit of a pain to get the whole set. After all, after some matches everybody needs to get a different challenge and people would probably quit if their group size doesn't meet their goal...
But getting 3 days PT and 500 MC might be worth a try.

You go to Autozone and buy stuff, it goes onto your card and they REWARD you for buying with them... this really isn't much different.
I guess at this point all the QQ'rs need to think to themselves, "Self... I am pissed for no reason, I spent no money and wasn't given stuff for it... wahhhhhhhh"
Again, it is not uncommon for a company to give more to the customers who pay more, or tip better, etc.... money makes the world go round and if you don't understand that, well..... I don't know what to tell you, other than try to get through life without money, see what happens.
How would you feel if you and I both bought tickets to next year's superbowl, you bought a nosebleed seet, and I bought 50 yard line tix and the "party package" at the arena. Because I paid them better, they upgrade my tickets to the skyboxes? Most likely you would be pissed off, but airlines, hotels, car companies, hell even casinos do it.
have you ever gotten something in a new car because you are willing to spend the money with a specific company? My Mother convinced a company to add running boards, an airbrake, new 5th wheel hitch and a cd changer in my dad's truck when he had to replace it... know why they gave in.... 40k$ in cash... yep, rewards for spending the money.....
I said before I think there should be something in this for you non-urbie owners, some form of killing an urbie reward. If they do, great, but if not, no one should be complaining for not getting a treat...
Sorry everyone, but it was a long night and I am sick of entitled people thinking they deserve a slice of every pie that gets carried in front of them... this is not your pie, it is ours....

Very good score formula btw! Might be the best one yet! Looks like damage farming friendly so if used in a future "anything vs the world" event dakka builds would be the kings. And usually high dps builds use an XL-engine so I personally would give more points for surviving the match to help out the standard engine lovers and make dps builds' life little harder.

Judging by all the love the Urbie is getting... I'm guessing MOST (active) players CAN participate
It's all in how you look at it, I suppose. I see it as a bonus given to the people who probably funded MWO for the next year or two, more of a 'thank you' than a 'no pay no play' Like the (L) mechs, it's a freebee gifted to those who support.
Non Urbie owners got their own event as well, so all the naysayers need to chill out.
Even if it were a mech available for cbills people would be bitching because they had to buy a chassis they didn't want...
Personally, I'd like to see more events like this. I am pretty sparse with my purchases on MWO thus far... But if they keep up this kind of love for every release (referring more to the cockpit items, and such) I know I'm more likely to be a paying consumer. They are increasing the value of the money you spend, not holding your money ransom.
There IS a fine line to be sure... If they start charging MC entry fees for normal events, I'll be right beside you with a pitchfork. But we're nowhere near it with this event. Stay the course PGI!

I understand where you're coming from... And agree to some extent. The Mech Packs are hard to justify. It's throwing money just to have something a month or two early. The Cbill bonus helps, but, I mostly have bought the 3 mech packs I have to support the continuation of the game.
But, you are complaining about the fact that there is an event that adds value to mech purchases, while simultaneously complaining that the mech purchases don't have enough value...

Its hard enough to get a decent score without having to rely on the rest of the team to win.
In so many of the previous challenges great scores were ruined by a defeat an you can only carry so much in a light.
Just when Pgi seemed to get this and removed the win condition from one of the last challenges they bring it back.
WHY?
Rant aside everything else about the challenge is great and i will give credit to Pgi for that TY

O.O There's no win requirement... You just get 10 points for winning. 5 for losing.

Thats exactly my point ,win lose should not make a difference i get a great match score and lose its worth less than a mediocre match score and a win.
so in effect there is a win requirement if you want to get better scores and so its more reliant on your teams.
how is this an individual effort if this is the case?.
Also its 10x not points for a win and 5x for a loss that difference is big. if it was just a five point and not a five times it wouldn't be too bad.

Um.... It's 10x the number of wins in a match... So, unless you know how to win multiple times in one match, it's just 10 points
