CB looked way better. In general CB was way better across the board.

Only hit reg has improved.

CB had much much better graphics. It was a blast fighting and killing mechs.

I am not suprised NGNG dodges or avoided questions. Everybody knows that isnt the first time they're doing this.

So my question was edited by NGNG for Russ to answer by removing my question about unlocking Endo Steel for clan mechs that need it and allowing us to remove JJ's from mechs with locked JJ's. I had asked 2 questions in the following post on page 2:

http://mwomercs.com/...dt/page__st__20

Yet NGNG chose to only ask the Clan AC question which Russ said they would improve by decreasing the time between shell so they care closer together. We'll see if that improves things once its implemented but at least its an attempt to improve them.

Anyways I think it is pretty poor that NGNG is editing the questions they are asking and presenting to Russ. Looks like PGI needs to start doing their own Town Halls if we can't trust NGNG not to edit questions behind the scenes like this I don't want them running the Town Halls that is just dirty.

what do you expect? NGNG is in bed with PGI. they get to dictate what happens in the game not us.

btw not everyone thinks unlocking ES and FF for clans is a good choice.

No one agrees on anything in this game. But keeping it from being acknowledged by the Devs, or softballing questions to Russ, is still pretty lame.

Now, if it had an XL225...that'd be something.

Even if it had to be an isXL225.

Only thing that will save MLX ain't the engine. It's hardpoints someplace beside the arms. Trew Story. Speed and agility is actually more than sufficient. It's the fact it get's disarmed (literally) if you sneeze at it.

Let the vat brats have the ability to "unlock" equipment hardwires on their "under-performing" mechs...

But if you do, give IS the ability to change hardpoint location, type and number on IS "under-performing" chassis. While you're at it let IS change max engine rating at will, or whether a chassis can carry ECM or JJ capability a how much...call it build you own hero...

See how that works, you make your wish, and the IS makes theirs

difference is unlocking Endo (note I don't advocate fully unlocking the chassis, and most especially not the engine), pretty literally only helps the clan underachievers be viable. The Big shots maintain their status quo and the the Have Nots STILL aren't comp tier, but at least they ain't trash tier.

So, nope, not talking the same thing.

Engine would give it more Trudubs and would free up torso slots for those non-arm hardpoints. :P

That being said, engine customization for Omnis would open up a can of worms so I'd avoid that for now...

In the short term, I think the MLX's weapon geometry needs a look.

Currently, the mounting box used for lasers is dramatically larger than the laser nub itself, which is part of why the arms are so easy to hit. The mounting box's size should be reduced to be approximately the same thickness as the nub, or at least really close.

Additionally, the lasers should be both mounted on the side of the arm (copycat of the Death's Knell Commando) rather than 1 on top and 1 on the bottom. This isn't a very efficient use of the mech's physical space...

I'd also consider a speed quirk (like, 10% or so) for the mech simply because it gets the worst of both worlds between gunboat lights and squirrely lights. Unless we use completely godlike stupid weapon quirks, an Adder or Kit Fox will always pack way more firepower, so I think the MLX should try to fit more into the squirrely role instead.

"Or else" is the very definition of choice. You have two possible choices with their own distinct consequences attached to them, it couldn't be simpler. In this case the choice is **** or die. The fact that you think there isn't a choice just means you've already chosen.

Perhaps, but being used as a comparison in this example is highly inaccurate as it implies dire consequences occurs no matter what option is chosen. Yes, Mister D over generalize also by saying all choice is good. But there is a vast difference between free choice and coerced choice.

So, if I held a gun to your head and told you to sexually assault a loved one or I'd murder you, whichever choice "you" made would be a good choice? Ummm... Gonna' have to disagree with your logic on that one, skipper.

Yes. I would have made the good choice. Better I die by my beliefs than to live failing to.

BTW last person to hold a gun to my head ended up with it pointing back on his. See... Choices.

That cool Joe, but not what is being said, or the point of the OP. If the question was unedited and Russ said "no unlock for you" then at least that's out there. This is weaksauce crap to keep Russ from getting uncomfortable.

Bit of a difference between not getting your question asked, and getting your question so edited it wasn't even the question you asked, any more.

or make up a couple torso omni pods? (not like PGI variants are taboo anymore) A 2 energy hardpoint RT would do wonders for the Lynx.

I see what you mean. Why does Russ have to answer us though? I know we don't like hearing it, but it is HIS choice cause its his game. No is all the answer he HAS to give us.

NGNG probably edited it due to being told that certain things wouldn't be answered, a very common thing when people do interviews, which is the Town Hall really is, an interview with Russ where he can do some PR spinning for MWO. Naturally there will be subjects he directs them to avoid bringing up.

And after the 'official' Town Hall was done and they opened the floor to questions, guess which question Russ himself kept ignoring. The one about ES/FF and JJ unlocks on Omni's, which was being spammed in the text chat along with the questions he DID answer. I think that makes it clear, Russ won't touch certain subjects.

And I can see why, it's pretty basic. OmniMech construction rules don't allow for the swapping of certain things, hence them being hardwired. This is something PGI announced before the Clan Mechs were added, there will be hardwired components that you don't get to change, straight up OmniMech construction rules from the TT game. The fact that OTHER MW titles ignored that rule doesn't mean PGI needs to ignore it as well. After all, one of the biggest complaints about MW2 and MW3 was the ability to change anything and everything on a Mech, was it not? Wasn't that the entire point of the hardpoint system MW4 introduced, based on all the complaining and whining about how unlimited customization ruined the game?

Then don't even touch the question. But to take someones question, then alter it to the point of being a softball? Pretty disingenuous. A touch politician, even. What they might as well do is simply have Russ decide what has already been decided, what he wants to reveal, and then tell us peasants what we are getting, if they are going to go that route. It'd be more honest, at least.

He could always just man up and say "not on the table for discussion at this time". It's actually better PR than pretending it's not there.

because it isn't a good choice. The Hellbringer doesn't need buffs and the Nova needs all the crit slots it can get. The Summoner is basically the only mech that really benefits. Better quirks (see the Warhawk and Gargoyle) and more omnipods will help most. PGI is being careful to not over buff it because it has a lot of potential to bring back the poptart meta.

The Alt F has ECM in the RT and the Alt G has an energy hardpoint in each leg (MWO moves these up to the side torsos). Unfortunately, that left leg hardpoint moved to the left torso isn't usable due to no open slots. Alt Z has a Nova CEWS and Modular armor in the RT, which is kinda strange.

Side torso guns would help immensely, but then that would make me sad inside that it would pretty much mandatory to use that pod just like the Loki's Prime LT and laser head. I want the arm mounts to have at least some degree of worth. :\

It would, you could sword and board with 2 RT mounts, and the RA, at least.
Could fudge the "G" I guess and move both leg E-points to one pod.
Truth to tell though, unlocking engines is the impassable barrier, IMO. And shifting the first 10 DHS all into the engine, no matter what has other issues.... I just wish that the first 10 DHS were trewdubs, on all chassis. Would help a lot of Lights, IMO.

I agree with you on that, but Russ tends to simply avoid questions he doesn't want to deal with, just look at the previous THs and you can see that. There's a reason I called him a marketing weasel back in Closed Beta on the forums....I knew who he was, but reading his posts reminds me of what marketing weasels, aka PR folks, do when talking about their products.

By answering in ANY fashion, he simply opens the door for a whinefest of epic proportions, regardless of what he actually says. 'It's not on the table for discussion' leads to much whining, 'we're looking into it' leads to much whining, 'we're going to do it' leads to much whining. Seriously, it's a no win situation to answer a question on this subject, so just avoid it all together, which is what keeps happening with this subject and a few others.
