Make sense given its the lowest odd number below the common 8x8 bytes in a 64 bit memory array.

But they'd be wise to up it to at least 256 in the code if they want this game to scale up to Steam proportions.

Despite what shills will say about how this game has 603239580 players, it really only has around 1.5k online at any given time.

Not all those players will be playing CW.

So... 64 x 24 = 1536 player limit for CW, which is more than enough.

But then you have an event like this which causes more people than normal to log on and suddenly you have 3000~ players logged on at once trying to play and...

Well yeah, I don't understand why they didn't see this coming, more people are always online for events, I don't know why they assumed it would just be business as usual.

I agreed with Zabadoo, this is just ridiculous. While I love these challenges, this has to be the most absurd. I just can't get a game, and when I do it's against a clan that rolfstomps. So from being 60th+ in the queue, down then up again. Finally get into a game and see an IS mix vs a team of Clanners...

There's just no hope.

PGI, this event could have been awesome but as it stands, it's going to be a drag.

Having now had the magical email from Alexander Garden releasing me of my Marik contract it is like night and day. At the moment there were 15 clan teams waiting to launch and 60 IS teams. It took a grand total of five minutes to launch in to a match. Thank you support

So there is zero love for puggers. I keep getting rubber banding from 50-60 down to 10 in Q and then getting tossed back up to 50-60. Repeatedly. Please fix this. I can't get 1 point in 2 hours. Someone dropped the ball.

No. There is zero love for people who haven't bothered to figure out the LFG tool that they installed... as there should be.

I really really really really HATE this event. You make a group with LFG. You have 12 launch. Then ppl leave after 7 minutes. You crash out of the lobby. And then the Aholes that left have a match in one go...Really PGI... I'm very very crossed at this moment.

Don't do events that don't work. Or do better research ><

I think it might be helpful if they divided the planet in 2 or 3... each with 63 slots so both sides aren't waiting when there is queues ready for both sides.

Perhaps making as planet options:

Tukayyid A
Tukayyid B
Tukayyid C

It's pretty silly that IS players are waiting absurd amounts of time and sometimes have to wait for a slot to open up on the planet even when there is a Clan group ready to play them during certain times.

Although I have to admit I'm quite frustrated, too, I think it isn't right to say, that PGI has messed up or something like that.
Roughly 1500 is a lot of guys playing in CW and it wasn't obvious, that it would turn out like this.
After all it was announced as beta and, like Russ said in the town hall meeting (if I remember correctly), that the whole Tukayyid thing is rather a hack of CW than a feature, thus the 63 zones is the maximum possible and more than that would need the code to be changed.
A change of code would need a deeper testing, which isn't quite possible in a closed test (and seeing what people are complaining the last time in the boards, I understand why there cannot be a open testing ;) )

Thus said, I thik PGI had their chance to see how CW turned out with a LOT of players and they could gather needed information of stability, performance and so on, which will help them in the future to improve the whole CW-feeling :)

We will have to "deal with the rest of the event", and wait for the Tukkayyid-Battle after the next restart to see a battle with more than 63 zones, or other options, to help support this many players :)

So who's brilliant idea was it to put a 3 day lock on changing factions.... Stuck as IS, unable to change, unable to get a match that doesn't involve a 30 min plus wait. Is this supposed to be an advert for the new CW?

shambolic

There are roughly twice as many IS groups dropping as Clan, so this is the issue.

Yeah but the 63 slot limit means that there are 17 clan groups in the queue. That's 17 games that could've been taking place and 17 off the already long IS queue.

I wonder why battle slots were limited to 63?

The reason for the lock may be, that units/solo players don't change their allegiance, which could mess up with faction specific leaderboards.
But if you want to change, check this out:

PGI tries to get it more balanced through IS and Clan

After a full hour of waiting i am pretty fed up with this "event".
Nothing happening is no event.
I still can't believe you really tried this with such a client and matchmaking system - or is it simply the few clan people not giving enough options to pair up?
Btw "such a client and matchmaking" - your network coding seems pretty snafu as well - yesterday a teammate had an RTT of 1685...
Seriously, warping 100 ton mechs are no fun.
No really not.
Yes, i am certainly positive on that.

Well, snafu all the way, 13h30m for exactly 15 matches.

Either halve the point requirements or extend this 'event' way past next weekend.

50 points equalling approx. 50 hours playtime atm (queue wait plus match) don't work out if your target demographic isn't 12 year olds wasting away their weekend in basements.

The 50 Point tier should really be seen as an extended, edge-case reward. The ultimate goal for most players will be the 40 point tier for the Banshee/Warhawk selection.

50 points is a lot, and we're definitely mindful of that, but for every comment we tend to receive about the max tiers being too high we get another about the points not going high enough (here or through the support services). 45 and 50 were essentially added as stretch rewards to cover that.

You got no clue on:
1. how much time it really takes - 50 matches at 1 hour + waiting time per match is impossible to go at this weekend.
2. how well your code is kept - see /bug and your ignorance to well known issues like the astronomical return trip times, the matchmaking failing to integrate groups / single players
3. motivation. We all want to be at least able to go for a tiny goal on this schedule. The way you provide service we cant, even with iunsane effort.

Dear PGI, this event tops them all - it is your "one ring" and it definetely made me regret that i paid that much money in hope of growing and improving development.
This is obvious and it was to be expected to be difficult to get a dime - but that it is impossible to get into any match at all really tops it. The "normal" matches are empty, so there you gain another 60 minutes of skillups in waiting.

How about you offer something for the money we stuck up your purses? Something each of us can at least aim at without beeing turned down and away for said obvious reasons? 2 wasted hours sitting here and waiting for nothing really tops all.
