Is there anything that shows what the point breakdown is? For example, how many points for a kill, points for an assist, et al? Been looking and I can't find anything that explains that. I am curious to see what I need to do earn 80 points per drop. I can't seem to find any info from past events that had the breadown like that. Or I am just not looking in the right place.

PGI hasn't posted how match score is calculated outside of one developer post that showed it was 10 points of damage=1 point and couple other ones.
CN: get 800 damage and make it unless you have a TK.

Someone has taken the time to figure out a few more, but this list is still incomplete, rewards 2.0 have increased the match scores and things like well placed UAVs can generate a lot of extra points.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I think right now it's going to be too easy to get 50 points. I mean, really? Only 50 matches? I could do that in my sleep!

The cap should be closer to 200. This would weed the casuals from the more hardcore players, like myself. I've already stocked up on Mountain Dew, Doritos, Dewritos, and Adderall. Now what am I supposed to do with this stuff if not consume it all in a 71.25 hour period?!

TL;DR Filthy casuals ruining my experience.

Edit: Corrected time available.

I really hope that post was intended as a joke

so with your suggested 200 CW matches at a minimum of 20 minutes per match what would you do with the 5 free hours that weekend,

of course if the matches took the full half hour and you found another match instantly it would take 100 hours to complete, good luck fitting 100 hours play time into 3 days

From doing CW 80 point thresholds a few times.

On average. a 600 point game, over 4 mechs, seemed to be about right. I tend to run support roles in a 12-man where we had 6-8 brawlers along with 4-6 support types (flankers/skirmishers, ecm, LRM, etc). Usually had a lot of assists (30+) and few direct kills (0-3).

There are a lot of things that affect the scoring, locking 'unseen' targets (as in 'Dorito-outlined, not filled), scouting mechs, uav damage, etc.

Preface: Love the weekly events since you guys dropped IGP, and have been an avid participant every time, playing (and spending lol) more and more consistently than I have since back before the end of beta...

Now, just my two cents, if the intention is to wait until Monday to extend the event, please consider extending it now.

The reasoning behind this is that while I was anxiously waiting to play yet another challenge/event (since there wasn't one last week), in it's current form, I cannot see it has being possible to complete 40 (or 50) points in this three day period (with one day literally being during business hours on a work day), so I may end up not participating much at all past the initial 5, if I don't feel like it is possible.

If the extension is granted for another 3 days on Monday, people that already "gave up" (perhaps prior to the event starting even), will again be in a similar situation, where it'd still be 35 (or 45) points in 3 days, except that they will be on week days.

Had we have known in advance that we had 6 days instead of just 3 to begin with, then this subset of people (including myself) would have likely paced ourselves to 8 or 9 points/day, which is how I generally approach every challenge anyway.

As others, have already mentioned in this thread, we are looking at a minimum of 25 hours in the space of 3 days, which is more than 8 hours a day, probably what most people call a work day, with majority having at least one of these days overlap with an actual work day at their place of employment.

Asking for 50 matches qualified in CW is essentially asking for over 100 matches in other challenges, which in itself is already unprecedented, but compared to some previous challenges, asking for it to be done in less than half the timelimit.

If it was within the realm of possibility, or somewhat close to it, I may have gone "all-in" and pushed the limits as I have in many of the other events you've run in the last year. But, as it stands, the criteria is flat out impossible for the majority of your player base.

Personally, I feel like the scaling is off by a factor of 2, perhaps CW taking double the time was somehow overlooked unintentionally when coming up with the rewards?

There are only a handful of challenges that I have not completed since challenges began in beta, and similarly, those were the ones that I did not feel were "possible" (for myself).

Of course, I realize this is likely related to the cost of the mechs in question, as they are at the top end of the price scale. I believe their intent is to be a incentive to participate in this "important", large scale, epic event, but placing the incentive out of reach, ends up serving as a deterrent for some.

TL;DR: To be frank, I'm not begging for the event to be changed, I can choose whether I play MWO this weekend or not and you've got my money regardless, but I'm just suggesting that if there is some consideration going on at PGI whether to extend the event to accommodate more players, it would probably in the best interests of everyone if this extension was announced sooner rather than later.

$0.02.

Ok you win! We will extend it to April 30th. Give us time to update all the pages but as of now consider the Tukayyid event extended!

Greetings, just throwing in my two cents.

For me personally, I try challenges if I feel I can do them in a realistic amount of time and or skill. I am not the best player, nor do I have the most time to play. When I do try challenges, I like to shoot for the top. If I don't make it, I figure "Eh, could have done worse" and try to improve my play and move on. Seeing that this challenge requires close to 8hr a day marathons for 3 strait days. It is immediately a "nope" for me, no question. Unless I feel there is a chance to reach the top, I wont even try it, there are MANY other ways I can spend 24 hours of my time this weekend and get more from the effort.

I wish all the Cbills and MC to those who do participate. Good luck all!

I will, however, be sitting this one out.

EDIT: And naturally they extended it while I was typing... I will leave the rest up as feedback though.

Thank you very much. That should give more people more time to enjoy the event. I appreciate PGI's willingness to consider the lives of its community.

I usually play 4 to 5 hours max over a weekend and that's not going to land me anywhere near good prizes

Just play like any regular weekend, It's a bonus if you get extra stuff out of it for free.

Good to know the event got extended. Thanks

I wonder when the minds behind events realize how a week long headache resulted by 8 hour per day playtime feels like. Maybe then we get reasonable events from the start.

Hahhaha - I was just about to say the next time PGI runs Tukayyid, they should probably make it a week-long event. Looks like they read my mind.

EDIT: ignore this post, thanks for the extension!

Ignore the people complaining about it being too high, those rewards are for the pros and it's better to have them than not.

What bothers me is the structure. A lot of players do not play CW because they don't want to. That's understandable, its a beta. This doesn't really motivate me to try it. The first item worth anything to me is at 15 points. I often get 10 minted wait times and 20 minute games so worst case that's nearly a whole work day's worth of time, or a night's sleep doing something I don't want to... for 150 MC. Well maybe the banner at 5 points might be worth it for the bragging rights.

Nothing wrong with it, letting you know what you would need to please me personally, make your money however way you can.

I think this is good, even pro players have lives to lead, and now a dedicated casual can win it all if they're persistent.

Thank you very kindly. This will make it much more reasonable for people who have other things to do. Hopefully, those who have elected not to participate on grounds of not being able to make enough headway will check back in and notice the change.

And may I say, I'm exceptionally happy to see the speed of response here. Keep improving things, yeah?

While I think the extension is probably a good idea, I wonder if all that extra time is going to have a negative effect on the number of people that are going to be playing CW at any given time since there is less of a rush to get the qualifying matches.
