So you see, PGI doesnt hate the mech, it just got ignored.

Most CPLT owners just wish they would have ignored it, but alas!

I think the lynx is probably the best mech in the game at the moment my regular score is ~ 350 going up to 550 on a good day ...
Which is about the score I usually get in my Commando and I am not am not arguing that the Commando doesn't need to get some love..
So, your point?

Commando - definitely not hated. It is the single fasterst mech in the game. PGI allowed it to use crazy strong engines for his weight. Is that now a sign of love? ;)
And not UP too. I rarely see it on the battlefield, but if I see it, 90% of the time it kicks ass. So at least one chassis has very good potential. It's just hard to use (yeah, I use one too, but I'm not that good). People usually think 35 tonners are best 'cos they are the toughest and pack a punch. What they forgot is that 20 and 25 tonners are incredibly agile and responsive. This is a potential right there. I once fought on HPG in 2D as last in my team vs. 2 king crabs, for about 5 minutes, with no srm ammo left and 1 med laser. (and I was fighting them, not hiding from them). Timer ended the match.
Why does people can't stand that commie is not like "all the other lights"? Variety is something bad or what?

Myst Lynx hated? It just got quirks. Did you check it after the quirks? It looses its arm MUCH less often than previously. Which was the only problem I had with this toy. 3mpl one I run is my favourite light right now. Tons of fun with this one, without the "I'm kinda cheating" feel of the firestarter.
I'm suprised I haven't seen Clans making right rushes in CW with this one. It's fast enough, it has decent jets, it is not that easy to disarm as before, it's not that easy to leg.

These two aren't bad. They're just different.
---
OP: I don't think PGI hates any mech. They just kinda don't give a  about some of them.

EDIT: grammar

I have had 3 of my best ever games in this bad boy, Its LL quirks are great, pity it can only fit 2. It will be much better when they do the weapon geometry pass so it can have SRM6s that work. If the head energy was in the torso it would be great.

I vote summoner which is one torso energy omni pod away. If they had released a reinforcement version with torso energy pods it would have transformed its fortunes. Instead we got the prime with different quirks.

The Awesome, Vindicator and Quickdraw. Especially the Awesome. It's just so bad. Big and bulky with low mounted hardpoints and the saddest of quirks. It needs a lot of love.

Not a fan of the clan chicken walkers' walking animations. I'd love to see a huge overhaul on all of them.

The Catapult & Kit Fox (among others) are desperate for a re-scale.

Oddly enough I really like the MWO Nova redesign. I think visually it's stunning, but as noted the new design does present certain er... gameplay limitations.

Flea,

people want it, they don't make it :P

The Novas issues are canon mixed with how MWO needs Torso twisting. And given how awsome the Nova looks like, I doubt its that much hated by PGI. It's one of the most epic looking mechs.

I wish Catapult was ignored when it was still good.
But no! It have gotten its share of hate and THEN was ignored, left somewhere in the gutter to die quietly.

The Awsome and the Orion were by far the worst mechs for the longest period of time The were absolutely horrible compared to now.. and Once upon a time the Hunchback with it's easily detachable hump. The was a time when the Atlas would get zombied regularly,.....Oh yes hordes of Zombie Atlai rampaging the battlefield. Sad thing is MechWarrior's would not finish them!!!....and just let them run around haplessly taunting them.
I almost forgot the Centurions and his prosthetic appendage always falling off at the slightest wink!
The Jester with a 355XL and Laser boater at 97.4. KPH was a extremely fun and mobile mech until the JJ nerfage
I will have to try it in the testing ground to see if it is any better.

Just jumped in the Jester in Testing Grounds Mech Feels Fast Agile mean like it should Suprised more IS pilots overlook it.

The Mech most hated by PGI:

-the one I just bought and/or root for.

Always...

That being said, my vote goes to the Awesome. Followed by the Orion and Treb.

The catapult with its 64 page plus geometry/quirks thread on how fukd up it is.

Catapult has to win for this reason. No other mech has had this dedicated of a thread demanding justice.

The catapult. No robot has endured such immense abuse.

It's such a huge joke, everybody knows it. No one likes the tumors they pretend are ears.

I would have to say one of the following:

The Catapult - My first ever Mech was my K2 "Nightwraith". I love this beauty dearly but sadly it seems that every shot that is fired at her hits her CT. I have had games where my other components are undamaged or yellow but my CT is cored out and these are games where I have torso twisted to try and shield my huge centre. The crappy quirks do not help either and neither does the nerfing of the PPC's.

The Awesome - I own an Awesome 8Q and it has been my second assault mech. I love it and I run her with a pseudo stock loadout (I switched some armour from the back to the front). She can blast off devastating PPC barrages and even without the basic skills or any prior experience I was having 200-300 damage games which have been steadily getting better as I gain experience. However once again this poor Mech is a huge target with little firepower when compared to other assaults of its class.

The Jenner - That MASSIVE Centre Torso. Need I say anymore?

The Spider - when one of your three variants has but two energy hardpoints and both are CT mounted there is a problem.

Almost all Mediums - Those HUGE profiles. Some of them are actually bigger than Heavy mechs. Something needs to be done here and done soon.

Catapult, it was beautiful, it was a good mech, it was enjoyable, it was perfect. Now its ugly, low res, a glascanon without the canon, strange quirks (no ppc, armour buffs to try to fix his hitbox problems and ears) its bigger than assaults, its just an ugly juici walking target.

What a shame.

We talking looks or performance..

Looks the Gargoyle for clans Battle Master for IS

Performance Catapult hands down the worse on all angles

It with the exception of the K2 and Jester is supposed to be a LRM missile mech with secondary weapons, even before the 'art' pass it was better to drop missiles on it and take other weapons, then once the art department had buggered it up and made the ears the size that dumbo would be ashamed of, it got even worse

No, it's the Awesome. It does not deserve the name. ;)

It did, and was, when it was all new and shiny and ran like stink. Then that big dust storm came and got grit all up in its Engines. Never been the same since. LOL! ;)

P.S. My soul, what's left anyways, for a 385 or 400 in my Awesome(s). BP not included of course.

Oh yea, I used to fear Awesomes when they first came out in MWO. Mind you at the time there was what?...8 mechs total in MWO. Previously the only assault mech (Atlas) was slow, so to have a fast assault with 3 PPCs or equipped with SRMs was daunting.

Heck, back then, I had a BRAWLING Catapult C1. 2 LLasers, 2 MLasers, and 2 SRM4s+Art was pretty darn effective. Like I said though, there wasn't nearly the power creep so even with the Cat's soft CT, it could hang in the fight.

Heck, Splat and Streak Cats were darn effective. Now you wouldn't want to take a Catapult within 250m of ANY mech for fear of your CT dissolving (let alone the dumbo ears being easy targets). That's why those builds disappeared.

Mechs like the Awesome and Catapult aren't what they used to be anymore. Power creep has helped make them relics of closed beta.

I've seen a wide variety of mechs fall in and out of favor in terms of gameplay OP-ness, so I'm not going to single anything out on that front. It all changes every six months or so anyway. However, there are certainly some mechs that feel visually abused or neglected.

First is, currently, the poor catapult. Attaching the missile pod to the outside of the arms is just terrible and makes the poor thing look ridiculous. The K2/Jester aren't a whole lot better if you put PPC's or Ballistics in the torso. They just look Silly.

Second would be the tiny hands on the stormcrow. They are...creepy.

Third, I would say is the battlemaster's head. I expected a much closer visual link between the Battlemaster and the Griffin, and it just isn't there. Mostly, what sticks out to me is the head, but in general it just doesn't look like a Battlemaster to me.

I would give an honorable mention to the Nova. It actually looks good to me, it is just friggin' enormous. The whole mech feels 20%-30% larger than it should be...but relative size always feels funky in this game anyway.

The biggest travesty, gameplay wise, in my mind are the mechs 50T and under with only one energy weapon slot and the rest ballistics. The tonnage required to do anything with ballistics is large enough that 50T-or-less is really restrictive on what you can fit on a mech, especially if you don't have crit space for an AC/20. On top of that, having nothing but a single energy slot as another option is a huge, painful disadvantage. The mechs that fit into this category are: LCT-1V, SDR-5K, CDA-3C, and ENF-5P. Of those, both the Locust and Spider can't even fit a PPC, so they are restricted even more. Of course, that is just my opinion.
