I always preferred the Logitech sticks, but there are alot of cool ones out now. I found that when I customized the stick I really only used probably 4 buttons on the thing, even though they had many more. Had to keep it simple for my simple mind!! :-)

I just got a Logitech - Flight System G940 for Christmas/Birthday, so I'm hoping, since Paul Inouye has the same set up on his his desk at the office, that there will be full in-game support ;)

See Paul's POST here: Joysticks (page 3 post #47)

I use a G940 from Logitech. Great stick/throttle section/peddle group.

It's perfect for helicopters, but I wish MW4M had proper support for it. Rather than only working with 3 axis and like 8 buttons.

I hope MWO does this right I want to be able to map me peddles to turn my mechs legs!

Pray for the system programmers.

-actually, if they are using the cry3 engine, can't we get an idea of support by playing only her cry3 game?

Edit -sorry for the messed up text I'm dictating and Siri can't type for ****

the Crytek 2 engine does not permit the typical use of the hatswitch (view), I believe. Is the Crytek 3 engine any different?

Joysticks make game play easy and smooth Saitek x52 is great at this, and very good for Mechwarrior games.

Mouse and Keyboard will always be better than joystick, faster and better accuracy however if your used to joysticks then it can be a bit of a learning curve.

If you are a flight sim fan then check out Rise of Flight.

I'm a MWLL player, which is built on the earlier CryEngines and I can tell you that the previous versions (Cryengine & Cryengine 2) do not support multiple joysticks. However a quick Google Search suggests that CryEngine 3 does support more then 1 joystick, so I'm hopeful that the devs will take advantage of that ;)

Saitek X-52 for me, been using it for space and flight sims for quite awhile. Really looking forward to using it for this game.

My typical mech-control setup is a Logitech Wingman 3d with a Nostromo Speedpad for the left hand controls. The Wingman has accuracy and reliability with totally customizable button layouts without also getting overloaded with buttons on the joystick itself. The Nostromo is nice for the same reasons.

Well, it looks like I'll have to help stimulate the economy again.

All this talk about joysticks provoked me into checking the back of my current computer, and there's no serial port!!! And guess what my ancient equipment needs. ^_^ And I'm not sure I want to install one. USB is so much better.

Don't forget that joytokey can help configure your joysticks. Not for everybody, but it does work. Maybe for even two joystick configurations.

i will be using my Trust GM-2600 predator.
i bought it specially to play mercenaries, it has 6 fire buttons and a throttle switch.
and has an USB connection.
the only problem i have with the thing that it is made for right-handed people, but
everything is better than playing on the keyboard together with the mouse.

ATM i am using a Logitech Attack 3 as my old Flightsticks only work with a "Gameport" i no longer have - and most of them be kaput anyway.
So if MWO is any good i would really spend some money to get a good Joystick-Pedal combination but the stuff in the Stores feels so cheap and fragile.
Was my read right that PGI will have at time an offer for a good quality Joystick/Pedals bundle - even outside of America?

I hope my Saitek ST290 Pro is sufficient for this game.

I have not used a joystick, they always seemed clunky.Never had a good one. I was looking at a used thrustmaster topgun 2, it feels tight & smooth like never used, I was thinking about using two of them, but I would either need a genaric one for the left hand or re-work a righty. apoxy & plastic is easy to manipulate and reform, button refig. is do-able too. I'll need to get software, Was it joytokey? i read something in a post about a way to program a joystick even if it did not have that software originally?

My favorite joystick is: Microsoft intellemouse optical, 4 buttons (well placed) plus a scroll button, then the scroll wheel, all programmable as any hotkey function. I love using it for my torso, then free look/reticle. then I use the keyboard for whatever else, and torso when I am in free look/reticle.

I want to go dual joystick, I feel I need my left joystick to twist also, so the flight sticks won't do what I want, unless I get the rudder controls, that option is a bit too spendy to me,
though.....what if ...(just thought this)...I got a cruddy pc steering wheel controller attatched a place for my feet to go, that could be my steering, and then my joystick is free for torso solely?? hmmmmm. thanks uncle danno

Saitek x52 Pro (similar to the x52 but with better hardware). I use it right now for the DCS games and occasionally in ArmA 2. If they add the use of TrackIR in this I'll be in heaven.

I'm with you on the trackir, heaven is an understatement.

I have a modified X52

Anyone with a X52 joystick I just did the mod for the Hall sensors to take out the big dead zone. It was quite easy to do.
Instructions here
http://www.mektek.ne...the-saitek-x52/

I was apprehensive at first but bit the bullet and did it . It was well worth it, the stick is more precise.

One thing they didn't say was if the stick movements are inverted you have to turn the magnets over.

I played MPBT Solaris on Aol and Gamestrom and used a MS Sidewinder and loved it but they are not made anymore. So I am looking for a new joystick and wanted to know what you are using or plan on using.

Ms precision pro ... yeah. Awesome stick. Without spending an exhorbitant amount of dough and possibly doing custom work, it's a hard stick to beat.

I snagged a few off of ebay a few years back and have gotten fairly decent at rebuilding them to take the slop out of the stick. It's due to the plastic of the base wearing away from the places that the metal springs contact with, usually. That and occasionally I have to retension the main spring... I'd love to find a place to get a custom made beehive spring in a spring setup to replace the originals.
