The artwork is actually tempting me to buy the pack. Looks great imo.

Plus the Mauler being awesome, the Crab being unique looking & always loving the Black Knight despite this not having ECM which would have been great.

Hmm, a question. Are the dates for the Mauler and Black Knight Early Adopter variants correct?

The dates given would mean that Early Adopters would get the 4th variant ONE WEEK before the normal, bundled variants are released!

I like having a chooice with which variant i want to Master when i don't like the setup of a specific variant. Also: Selling surplus Variants can get me some extra C-Bill on the side (even though it is not much).

But i agree, scrolling through my 110+ Meches takes a toll on my patience ;-)

Has there ever been a ECM-Hero? I think, a Hero with ECM would make the P2W-Crowd go INSANE and IMPLODE into a black hole.

I agree with the usefulness. I have no Mech Mastered of the last Pack, since i didn't see any advantage to master them over my Mechs i already have. But since i am a old school fan of the Mechs in the Packs (ZEUS! CRAB!!) i still had to get them. Greedy (and poor) me.

Screw P2W crowd. They are the biggest blight on the community... (most of them) are completely unreasonable. An ECM hero mech isn't P2W.

If they locked off double heatsinks behind a paywall, THAT is P2W. Unlocking ECM on EVERY mech for MC is P2W. Making every ECM mech cost MC is P2W. Having some variants on both sides of the paywall is how it should be.

I'm pretty sure the Locust hero mech has ECM

I won't be buying this pack.

Resistance was a huge disappointment:
Great initial artwork to lure you in, then BAM - ugliest mother banging medium and heavy mechs ever.
Then to top it off, ugliest paintjob that looks like someone had to whip it up 5 minutes before deadline.
After I got over the ugliness, I get into the effing mechs and you find a mixed bag:
  • Panther is ok, sometimes fun to play, matches up well with TRO
  • Enforcer is ok, sometimes fun to play; feels like one of few mediums that are scaled like a medium. Damn that UGLY mother banging head!! A huge departure from the artwork for Resistance mech pack
  • Grashopper - wtf! words cannot explain how god awful this chassis is. Makes me want to punch someone.
  • Zeus is ok, great design that matches up well with TRO
The artwork for Resistance 2 looks decent, but I'm not going to fall for it again. By looking at the concept art, I'm betting the wolfhound and black knight are going to be the ugly chimps this time.

Make it look as good or better than the concept art. Make them fun to play. Pull another Grasshopper again and I'm closing my wallet for good.

Historically, the first mech listed has the Cbill bonus. The bonus 4th variant should be the last one listed.

just wondered what would happen if i buy a wolfhound/crab or black knight pack and someone would gift me a wolfhound pack code does it automaticly upgrade to the next tier or does the code dont work then?
this kind of scenario isnt covered in the faq ^^

Why does the Black Knight not look like a Black Knight at all?
It's head looks like a modern helmet, not like a medieval one. Which was kind of the point of the original design.

Oh yeah, i forgot about those, mainly because i see them as running coffins ;-)
And yeah, i never understood one argument from the P2W-crowd. but imagine the Cataphract 0X for MC only as a hero mech. Things would get ugly pretty fast.

If you want the JJ Crab to be the R model, get somebody to tweet Russ, and ask. Otherwise they tend to pick the 3050 standard model.

Ok...so why are so many people upset over the Black Knight not having ECM, even though the Mech doesn't have it for decades. Newsflash, it doesn't have it. There are VERY few ECM heavies period. Get over it. Walk it off.

Right now, I see PGI trying to get as many Mechs from this time period out, so we have as close to what the old tabletop would have available. That's great, that's awesome. These mechs are laser heavy, a lot of IS mechs were at this time because the Houses didn't like dealing with ammo shortages on long campaigns. If they finally find a way to drop the old Unseen, you'll get more missile and ballistic-based Mechs...and it is likely it will happen, because it already happened (The Griffin is an old Unseen).

Personally, I like this pack. It's not that bad in price once you do the math. The Mechs are well-thought of from the old game, especially the Crab and Black Knight. These packs help pay for all the development time to GET this stuff. Just like the Urbie and the old pack, they create new roles and meta to use and deal with. Adapt or die, kids.

And yes, I am AGAINST Omnimechs in the IS right now. Later, yes. But right now, nah. Clan Mechs are role-locked, but they have better gear and weapons. The Dire Wolf is still a beast. That's cool. The Clans didn't do the huge variety of Mechs, they perferred focused mechs that have been proven with no individuality. The IS however wants lowriders and flames on theirs.

From a gameplay perspective I don't see these adding anything different to the game except the Mauler. This seems more like a "Hey nostalgic people! Here are your 'Mechs now throw money at us" pack than a "Let's address the lack of X on IS/Clan side" pack (which Clan Wave 3 is a perfect example of).
